  1. I would suggest you visit the Equal Justice Initiative, aka the Hanging Museum, in Montgomery, Alabama. That is a horrible word that white people have forever forfeited the right to use. It's about a days drive and will leave you in tears. As for black people, some of us have turned it into a word of endearment and others would bury it. I go back and forth on it every day and have educated my children why it's not a good word but I understand why we as a group use it amongst each other. I can't call my lady' friends the b word but she can. I have no problem with that. Taneshi Coates said it better than I could, that ain't y'all's word and y'all can't tell us what to do with it. [Hidden Content] That said. The punishment seemed fine, he seems remorseful and I hope he comes out a better person because of this.
  2. I think Splendora wins but stranger things have happened. But it will be competitive. As for my alma mater, As long as the Bears play not to lose ( which is what LCM has done outside of 93-98 when we weren't scared), there's a chance. I'm looking forward to visiting Battling Bear stadium for the first time in almost 20 years. Never sat on the visitor side so this should be fun. There's no one in this district that can take a team for granted. Ain't no team in this district is a name that inspires fear in their opponent, like say, WOS. Overlook the Lions at your own peril. They are extremely fast. Livingston is going to win 2 district games and play in November.
  3. So sad. Kids are going too far with hazing. [Hidden Content] This is not good team building.
  4. Livingston travels to Splendora to kick off the district schedule. Although much improved (2-2!) And coming off a shutout no less, I can't with good conscience take the Lions this week. I'm pulling for competitive. 42-26 Wildcats. It ought to be fun. Livingston should be able to make some plays in the passing game and the punt/kickoff team is extremely fast and should have at least 3 returns for TDs and his season. Just ain't big enough to stop the opposing team's rushing attack. Thoughts??? BTW, Livingston is going to win 2 games in district. Bridge City at home and the other victim, I haven't figured out yet between LCM and Lumberton.
  5. Hargrave will be district champs this year. They're not losing to Lumberton at home on Homecoming. 35-20 Falcons.
  6. Katy has suspended it's quarterback for two games and stripped him of his captainship after he was caught on the Mike saying a word that white people shouldn't say. [Hidden Content] Kid sounds remorseful, and no one should be judged by a single bad decision. I hope he learns and becomes a better person for it. Katy will survive this. Just a reminder that hot mikes are everywhere so keep it clean in public.
  7. No shame for Newton losing to Gilmer. Watched KTRE Red Zone and Newton talked about the size and how Gilmer speed the game up to keep Newton off balanced. They didn't use it as an excuse, but it's a big ask when your kids are going both ways while the other team can rotate fresh guys in at anytime. Gilmer suits up 47 and plays a bunch of them. I would bet when Newton played Silsbee or WOS the number of players were similar or close. The streak was bound to end. Better on the road than in Arlington. I take 15-1 hoisting a trophy versus 15-1 and losing my last game of the season. Newton will be fine. As for Jasper, Silsbee and WOS, the playoffs ought to be fun.
  8. 36-0 final. Livingston. Got a safety on a punt snap out of the end zone. Lions are 2-2 on the year with a bye next week.
  9. 34-0. No more reports except the final score from here out...
  10. We kicked it out of the end zone. Thank goodness.
  11. 28-0 Livingston. 1120 left in the game. Hopefully Huntington can field the kick.
  12. 21-0 Livingston end Q3 Livingston 2 and goal from the 4 to start Q4.
  13. This is three kick-offs in a row Huntington has failed to recover. I'll take it but man that's gotta be some consequences for this on the other sideline for the lack of awareness.
  14. 21-0. 639 left in Q3. The Lions ain't wasting time...
  15. This is crazy. Huntington can't recover a kickoff. Livingston ball again!
  16. Livingston recovers the kickoff and drive 40 yards for the TD. 14-0 Lions. 915 left in Q3.
  17. Gilmer shot themselves in the foot a few times against Carthage last week. The Buckeyes may be the best team Newton plays all year.
  18. 7-0 Livingston at the half. Sloppy play. Turnovers and penalties keep this close. Livingston held the ball for most of the quarter.
  19. 7-0 Livingston end Q1. Huntington has the ball on its 23 to start the quarter.
  20. 7-0 Livingston. Nice 82 yard drive. Homecoming is looking good!
  21. I was at the Gilmer Carthage game. Gilmer shot itself in the foot a couple of times and had they played clean, it could have headed to overtime. I counted 45 suited up for the Buckeyes. And they seemed upset to let a chance to beat Carthage on the road get away from them. I'm taking Gilmer to win at home.
  22. Wow. Thats a tricky spot. You prepare all week for glass Joe and get Mike Tyson at the bell. Jasper will be alright. It's a good wake up call that the route to North Texas is going to be a fight. BTW Carthage 17, Gilmer 9 going to the fourth quarter. This has been a fun game.
