This will be the first Livingston game I've gone to and come out a winner. Green and Gold looks good as always. Either LCM makes a move for the playoffs or Livingston gets of the snide. Fun, fun, fun.

No kid on varsity. I'm glad. There's nothing to be gained watching worthless film on Saturday. The team evenly split among sr, Jr, and sophomores. Ain't made the last two games due to work, so this could have changed some due to shuffling and grades.

I got season Tix. And Green and White has grown on me. My children would have a fit if I showed up in Green and Gold on homecoming. Not that I would, mind you. I haven't worn or owned any LCM gear in more than 20 years. I'm following my father's example, sitting on the children's side as you watch the Alma mater beat on the kids' school. I'm just counting down the days until I can be agnostic again and spend Friday evenings going out.

So a week ago, this was by far the worst district in the classification and now it's favored against the cross district? Which is it? I'm glad the teams are showing signs of improvement, except for one. None of these teams have a look of making it past 2 rounds and only Splendora will make it out the first. JMHO. But that's why we play.

I saw that disaster of a playoff game in Lufkin last year. I wouldn't be so sure y'all would beat Navasota or Furr with Crouch. I would be shocked if more than one team in this district survived bi-district. As for learning anything from playing Livingston, it's practically a bye week. You might as well let the young kids gets some varsity reps in. It keeps your starters from suffering from a fluke injury in a decided game. For the record, Splendora didn't run up the score. When you're throwing in kids to just run the ball up the middle, basically just to keep the clock moving, you're depending on the other side to make a simple tackle so the pain can end. If the other team refuses to tackle, you can't blame the kid for scoring or blame the other coach for running up the score. I had no problem with Splendora. It's on Livingston to do better.

Only need two wins to make the playoffs. Most people thought LCM, Bridge City and Livingston were the bottom dwellers in this district and the survivor of this round robin gets the privilege of losing to Navasota. It's homecoming, maybe we'll see some inspired play. I highly doubt it but it what I tell myself each week. Thank goodness basketball starts today.

I thought new caney was going to beat them but KPark is a bridge too far. That game at Texan Drive was a much needed wake up call for Port Arthur. The Titans don't lose again until after Thanksgiving, early December.

My bigger point is that both papers are woefully understaffed and voting for a poll can get lost in the shuffle. Both papers used to cover the Texans Astros Rockets and the Big XII. I know it's a different world with Internet, but for papers with their circulation sizes they don't have enough staff to cover what they need to. I have the same gripe with the chronicle. When I travel to South Oklahoma and look at the Morning News and Star Telegram, they have outstanding coverage. If you want better representation in the AP poll the local papers have to do better.

The sports desks at the Enterprise and the News need to get an AP vote. Call the sports editor and complain to him/her. Much smaller papers have votes. And a lot of it is on name recognition. Until then teams like Woodville, East Chambers, Nederland and West Brook will be ignored. Bob West and Rush Wood would have made sure the area was represented. Sadly both papers are woefully understaffed.

I thought this was a trap game. It doesn't change the goals of at least three rounds deep. Just clean up the penalties and they'll be fine.

Lufkin lost to the No. 6 team in 6A on the road, in a very competitive game. So there's no shame in that loss. I wouldn't count Huntsville or the College Station teams as metro area, just that the Huntsville Item and the Bryan Eagle have good reasons to vote for them and they have had very good years. Not to mention College Station is the defending champs. And with two divisions you have to believe that your too 10 would include the teams from those division with the best shot of making it to Arlington. PA has a new coach and has a lot of travel so the other voters may discount them until they prove something in district, which I believe they will. The Enterprise and the News gotta vote for PA until they get in the heart of district and other can see what memorial is all about.

Huntington is trending up. They looked good. They ran plays that fit their personnel. Their kids hustled and didn't get flustered in the third quarter when things should have tightened up. I tip my hat to them.

That was probably the best they played this year. And it was a game they had a couple of chances to get back in and be competitive. I'm not ready to concede 0-10 because the district is bad and football is a funny game but I'm counting down the days until basketball season starts. Oct 24 can't come soon enough.

I'll play. The Lions have no offensive and defensive lines and most of the talent are sophomores and freshmen. It's a full on rebuild. I think in a few years it'll be a winning culture but when you been bad for this long you just gotta stop digging. Fortunately the district is bad. Two wins might be enough to get in the playoffs. I think the way to things are developing, the Houston cross district is going to win at least 3 games in bidistrict, if not sweep. I look forward to learning more about Livingston this Friday. Maybe this week we can keep the score under 50 points. 46-13 Jasper.

He's going to be president for two more years unless there's a change management this November and Mueller brings down the hammer. Remember election day is Nov 7 for the GOP. As for 2020 who knows.
