Kids have done a lot of growing up these past few games. I predicted 3 rounds this year maybe. Was worried we wouldn't get that far considering who opponent number 2 was. Some people didn't think we'd beat Hamshire Fannett. Anything beyond this is just gravy. Although I would find it amusing if we managed to get a game with Stafford this year after all.

Once again Silsbee had 3 freshman finish out most of the 4th. I believe Bottley had three 3 pointers in the game. Game against Connally is gonna be on Tuesday at Madisonville HS at 7pm.

Waco Connally is always tough. They gave one of those championship Silsbee teams all they wanted one year.

Kid wanted to fight, he should have done it with his play. Go sit down lol.

Yeah, I think I'd root for this team if they weren't playing us. Kinda sad when you're shocked by another team showing sportsmanship though.

Silsbee had 3 freshman on the count the majority of the 4th quarter when they pulled away. Miller/Bottley/Harris. All three were playing in the big jr high tourney about this same time last year. They showed who they were when Yates got to within 2 points early in the 4th. They probably would have lost a game like this early in the season. These definitely weren't the same Lions from seasons past though. The team that beat Silsbee a few years ago was a good 3 point shooting squad and money from the free throw line. They also didn't turn the ball over that much. I re-watched this game last night, and the big kid was called out as 7 feet tall when they were announcing the starting lineup, btw. He certainly looked the part.

Gonna have to come down off that high from beating Yates real quick. Crazy how close we came to playing Bridge City again.

Leading scorers for Silsbee: Harris - 24 Miller - 18 Gilder - 17 Can't find out what he had, but Baltrip deserves some huge props also.

All those butt whippings before district really payed off. Not a fan of seeing us lose by 50 points while half our team is playing football, but you can't argue with the end results. This Yates defense was nothing compared to United.

So what if someone from Yates test positive for Covid now?
