  1. A lot of talent but can't win is when the coaching staff has to take some of the blame. We are who we are at this point. That being a decent team. Nothing more. Wouldn't be surprised if we go 2 - 1 over these next three games. We do any worse than that and people are gonna want to see some heads roll. What's funny is we'll have a better chance of winning a playoff game this year as a 3rd place team than we did last year coming in 2nd place.
  2. If this kid can play he'll get a chance at the next level. Just look at Zach Evans. Playing at TCU despite his antics at North Shore. Had a few WOS coworkers tell me how they feel about the coach. It's enough to keep me neutral on this. Not taking a side.
  3. Have a feeling these Tigers aren't ready for West Orange. If Orangefield can hold us to zero points in the second half, what is WO-S gonna do? If our pitiful kicking game gives the Mustangs good field position too many times, it could get ugly. They might can keep it close for a quarter or two. But of course I'm more than willing to be proven wrong. Maybe I'll look like a fool after Friday and the Tigers will come away with a win.
  4. People will probably think I'm hating if I give my honest opinion on this so...... West Orange by only 2 touchdowns.
  5. Never mind. Score was already posted.
  6. Questionable calls are gonna happen. If you're the better team, you find a way to scrap out a win. Silsbee still had chances to do that and they didn't. Maybe if it was the last play of the game and the refs called a TD incomplete when is was a catch, I could see being upset. Really, though, blaming the refs ain't gonna get you anywhere. Good news is they've still got time to prove they're a good team, so lets do it. Otherwise I don't guess we'll have to worry about Silsbee Lite losing by 50 points to 6A basketball teams early in the season this year.
  7. No excuses for this loss. Every high school game has referees making horrible calls. Learn to play better.
  8. Silsbee had their chances and blew it. Got to clean some things up by the end of the season, or get out the basketballs.
  9. Tigers have to figure out how to win games like this if they want to be good. Our kicking game has been trash for whoever was wondering.
  10. Silsbee also slowed the game down and ran the half court offense more than in the previous years. That's not saying much, but they were very effective at it when they did it. Don't get where some people think Silsbee is gonna be small this year, but okay 🤷‍♂️ One big advantage the Tigers will have is the two best players in district will both be playing for the same team.
  11. Can we please finish a game properly this time? Could make some noise if we learn how to do that.
  12. Sucks that some of our kids have played so well and still might be looking at an L now. Gotta learn how to put teams away when you got them down. Pretty stressful for the fans too lol.
  13. Really starting to like this Brisbane to Miller connection.
  14. We really are gonna lose this game because of our lack of kicking. I knew it was gonna be worse this year, but come on!
  15. What I wouldn't give for a kicker 😞
  16. Nobody can do it like The Metroplex when it comes to transfers. Wouldn't mind seeing Kimball taking more from Faith Family though 🙂
  17. Not sure what some people expect from these coaches. Consistently winning and making playoff runs means you're doing something right.
  18. LCM will have a pretty good freshman, I think. Don't remember his name. Silsbee might have at least one or two. Not 100 percent sure on that though. It's really early and hard to tell who's gonna be playing where and doing what.
  19. No names to add besides what's already been said. Of course all these coaches need talent to do what they do. Nobody is taking the chess team on a deep playoff run lol.
  20. Most of the size some of these teams have doesn't mean much if players can blow by them like they're standing still and they can't run up and down the court very well. Unless we're talking extreme differences, one team having a few players an inch or two taller than the kids on the other team ain't gonna matter.
  21. Orange County I think.
  22. I thought Bridge City was supposed to have a good class of freshman they brought up last year? I realize they lost quite a bit of senior leadership, though, so that could hurt them this season. Anyways: district only. 1. Silsbee 2. West Orange 3. Orangefield 4. Lumberton 5. LCM 6. BC 7. Vidor.
  23. Jackson had a good showing against Midway. Probably had about 15 points. Pretty nice looking shooter. Hope he can keep it up and be consistent.
  24. Think Tyler is coming home this year. One thing you have to remember is some of those kids didn't have their breakout year until their senior season. So all those names may look good on paper, but they don't tell the whole story. Same thing happened this past season with Baltrip and Gilder. Silsbee had a great freshman class last year in b-ball. Many of those kids didn't see varsity time because court time was more important. I don't think the 9th graders lost a game and the ones I saw weren't even close really. I'd expect some more of that to move up this year.
  25. The team that won the first title against Brazosport had a lot of depth. No denying that. They were pretty much trying to win with a 5 - 6 man rotation after that year though. Sure it looked like they still had good depth against bad teams, but that roster got awfully limited against tough opponents.
