How much do these kids and coaches really care about these games? I know bragging rights and all that, but no way do I think there's the same mentality and intensity as a good playoff run.

He's in 8th grade right now. I thought you had to wait a full year if you went to a new school for sports before you could play? Silsbee had a kid this year who had to play JV ball due to moving.

Peyton pretty much lived in the gym at Tiger games this past year. Almost felt like he was a part of the team already but couldn't play. Pretty sure he'd be ineligible for one year if he made the move to BU. Not sure anybody would want that. There's only one thing that could maybe cause some people to think he's going to BU, but I still don't think that's likely.

If Silsbee can average 25 wins over the next 3 years, that'll put Coach Sigler at 900. Very doable. He could realistically finish at about 930 - 950 for a career. I believe he's 66 right now. Not sure if getting close to 1000 and coaching into your early 70s would be worth it or not. Got to slow down and relax eventually.

Sigler could probably make it to 900 wins. It just depends on how long he wants to keep coaching.

FF got smoked by Link Academy by about 30 points this year.

I swear if Beaumont ever went to one public school, they'd be the kings of b-ball in this state. They'd have to play a national schedule every year for competition. Doubt even Duncanville could take them out.

How many more state titles do they get to roll on to before anything changes. Maybe 9 or 10? I guess we should congratulate Argyle for being the last real 4A state champions.

Is there a reason why Dallas Lincoln is horrible these days. All the good athletes went elsewhere to play or something?

You didn't get the results you wanted tonight but look at the body of work BU has over these past 3 years. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Wasn't blown away by LH. United just played sloppy.

Faith Family's only defeats this year were to Bishop Gorman, Mater Dei, and Link Academy.

Better than last year. Not sure if it'll be enough. Faith Family hasn't lost to a Texas team all year.

Rotten luck for Ellison. Lets see if BTW enjoys their reward for beating us now. I really am pulling for them. No joke. I don't want to have to hear crap about that Metroplex superiority if FF and LH wins.

BU wins 62 - 60. Yates will hit the game winning shot to finish his high school career.

Game reminded me of that Silsbee/Argyle game a few years back in how it ended. Hopefully surviving a game like this is a really good sign for BU.

Don't know if recruit is the right word, but we got a pretty good one that'll be on the team next year. I'm pulling for BTW when/if they play FF. Only team I can really see beating them in 4A is some sort of school that plays Argyle ball really, really well. Matter of fact, Argyle is the last team to knock them out of the playoffs, I believe.

I remember hearing about some high level athletes getting insured for up to a million dollars. I don't remember the specifics. It may have just been for kids who already had a few years of college play. Both Miller and Harris have opportunities 99.9999 percent of us will never have. Can't blame them for taking it and doing what's best for themselves.

Miller should do whatever is best for himself. As much as we all hate losing in b-ball, it's really not THAT serious at the end of the day.

Not sure those other Tiger teams would have ever beat FF or this year's BTW, but we'll never know. Things are a little harder now than they were back then. Looking at what cost us this game with the bad 3 point shooting and turnovers, a Bush is exactly what would have fixed that. The entire core of those Silsbee teams were b-ball players only too. We'd get maybe two kids from the football team, but everyone else was 100 percent focused on basketball.

I had San Marcos making state. Was shocked they took a 30 point beatdown to Brennan, so SA must be doing something right. Still, BU by 10.

Johnson is the QB . Y'all realize he's only a freshman right. He's 6'2 already with time to grow and get a lot better still. I think the next-gen Tigers after 24 will be fine. Jones, Johnson, Adams, Arline, yet another Cartwright and plenty more. The newer Cartwright looks like he'll be a little taller than the past few. I could see us making region for at least 5 more years.

Early season games are a funny thing. I'd bet BU would beat BTW by 10 - 15 right now. And are y'all going to join us at region next year or keep getting slapped around by Furr and BTW.

You have to think Coach Love is getting sick and tired of FF stacking and getting in Carter's way every year. Let these teams stack however they want, I guess. I don't want to hear any crying when Silsbee does it next year though.
