Mr. Bobby will be greatly missed. He was the heart of Bronco country and a diligent athletic booster supporter. There are no shoes to fill his many roles. He loved all Broncos and was loving and supportive to all. What a heartbreaking shock to learn of his passing this morning. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers. I know we will all miss his posts on this forum.

oldrock got a reaction from outanup in How Much Should A PARENT Do To Get their child A Scholarship?
My wife and I put a lot of time in on our son. I sent out lots of emails and my wife took him to lots of camps. We started his sophomore year in high school. He received several football offers and several track offers. He chose to accept a full football scholarship. He took as many dual credit courses as he could in high school and will most probably finish his masters degree before his eligibility runs out. He dedicated himself to being the best student/athlete that he could be and it payed off in the long run. It is a combined effort of parents and the student/athlete. A school that has a coach dedicated to helping the students get to the next level helps tremendously if you are lucky enough to be in a school district that does have that. -

You are correct Mr. liltex. He has transferred to Lamar and is the starting center so far this Spring. We went to his scrimmage last Saturday and will be attending the scrimmage tomorrow as well as the Spring Game on March 7. He still has 3 years of eligibility left and we are looking forward to watching all of his games. Being from Port Arthur and a graduate of Lamar this is very exciting for me and my family. Lots of family anxious to watch him play for Big Red.
It's good to be back on the forum. I will be checking in on the High School forum as I can but hopefully we can get a good Lamar thread going on the College forum.
