Ban me idc lol. I've never seen a wos defense give up so many big plays run or pass in a season. You return 8 on defense from last year. Something ain't adding up. I think everyone knows what that is

Just like cowboys fans when they think there back and say were them boys... just a joke lol . Wos needed this and hopefully build on it
-
Only team I can think of is la Marque in the 90s took wos out of the playoffs just about every year

If there was a time for this coaching staff to try and make some major changes on both sides of the ball and try and turn this season around this is the time to do it with the schedule not so difficult. They need to do something cause what there doing now ain't working at all

I would of loved to see shaw healthy covering miller. That would of been a good match up

Atleast the new coaching staff is breaking some new records this year. They have that going for them 😅

When coach h was hired one of his first interviews was taking about how he's not gonna change much might add a few different things. But still keep the mustang traditions at wos.. first thing he dose is change the whole defense.. what? Changing the whole defense is changing the tradition

I sure thought he was gonna be the next wos coach. And did most of the city. I know he's an offensive guy but he knows what mustang football is about. And he would of got the right guy to run the defense without changing the formation. Plus I think the offensive would be alot better with him there..... just my thoughts while I've been watching college ball all day drinking a few 😅

I'll take the Tigers in the 35 - 28 range.
Anybody who thinks this will be a blowout is kidding themselves. Wouldn't be shocked if WOS finds a way to win.
This year yall snap our district winning streak. But we get revenge and snap yalls playoff winning streak against us
-
Only way wos wins is if they can find something different to do on offense. I'm thinking the wos defense will give up 30 something points. So unless the offense and score 40+ I don't see wos winning. And there not gonna score 40 on Silsbee.. realistically I see them scoring 14 or less

I miss the post game interviews from coach t lol.. the new coach is just like " yeah that was a really good team we played just missed on some opportunities"... coach t would or been like. I wasn't happy with the way we played they better figure it out or I'll find some one who will.. and that's a speech after a 3 touchdown win lol... don't wanna hear the one after a loss haha

Hopefully shaw is ok, seen he got hurt after a run.. I said it last week and I'll say it again. I think He's playing the wrong position on offense. I don't understand why he ain't your deep threat lined up out wide. He's tall and fast and could probably win most one on one.. but the OC don't call plays for deep down the field so it don't really matter. The point of the spread offense is to spread the ball around all over the field. Not run, run, run, 2 yard pass. The defense will never back up and it will never open up the run game. They might as well be under center or running the slot t lol

Not sure if it would had made a difference. WOS had a time out and then rushed the play. Why not call the timeout. Talk it over and then run the play. Hmmmm not sure what to think.
They had alot of field to work with so they probably needed it to stop the clock later on if they got the first down. The best call the coaching staff made all night 🤣

When is the last time wos gave up 20+ points 4 games in a row. I don't think it's ever happened. Cause I know Silsbee is gonna score way more than 20 next week

If 17 is the best WOS option at QB, this team isn't doing jack this year. Can't remember the last time I've seen WOS lose two in a row. Hate to say it, but this team looks lost and downright weak under tohis new coaching staff.
No qb is gonna look good with the plays that's being called. It's to predictable. And defense has given up 20+ points 3 games in a row

If my resources and math is correct over the past 37 years since 1985 the wos defense has given up an average 12.54 ppg.. there best 3 years are 2012 - 5.7 ppg.1887- 5.3 ppg. 2016- 4.3 ppg The 3 worst years are. 2001- 16.9 ppg. 1996- 18.0 ppg. 2005- 19.4 ppg.
What's crazy is 2005 was wos worst year defensively but still made it to the state semi finals where Wimberley scored 52 points the most ever given up in school history. They went that far cause deon Beasley and earl Thomas was lighting it up on offense that year.

My reasoning for asking that question is I am sure they were in the top 10 percent or 5 percent in the State over the last 30 years or so in points and yards allowed. So why would you change something or somebody i.e. Coach Pierce if they are getting the job done at the highest level in the State?
I ask myself the same question. Coach t could coach defense. And it shows. Some of the worst defenses wos has ever had was in the early 2000's and why is that? Cause coach t left and was at Palestine for a few years during that time

It would be interesting to know where WOS ranked in points and yards allowed over the past 30 years compared to other High Schools in the State? We know they have the highest winning percentage in the State. Does anyone know that stat?
I know they've had alot of good defenses in the past that were only averaging giving up 5 points or less a game. The 2016 defense obviously. But I remember the 2008 and 2012 defense being lights out. Giving up 5 points or less a game till they got eliminated. 2008 they lost to gilmer in 3rd round defense started out slow first half but shut them down the second half but didn't have enough offense for the comeback. And 2012 lost to Navasota 4th round. That team was on a mission and they wasn't being stopped.. but I would say on average the defense over all the years combine problems averages given up about 10 ppg... that's just me guessing. Right now this season there ppg giving up is 19.6 through 3 games.

Hey I'm with u. And after speaking to someone that's there.unless they go back to what they know.this will be a short season!!they personal to run this defense that they are forcing on these kids.even at the 7th grade and 8th grade on up.dont have the type of kids to do this.i really don't see anything gud coming out of this
I take it the jv is running the same defense. Cause I've seen they been giving up a ton of points this years too. I'm use to seeing our jv shut other teams out

Wos has never had teams that could throw wr screens against them and pick up positive yards. Teams this year are doing it and picking up 10 yards or taking it to the house
