  1. Haynes is a great coach. Picking between him and Flanigan will be difficult.
  2. Cinco ranch 2000?  Look again. If Cinco ranch had 2000 they would have been div 2.
  3. WB has played schools with 2000 students more than WB. 4A does not face that issue.  It makes a difference. Hard to compare. As long as the alignment stays as is, WB will be div 2, which should help.
  4. They have needed a coach for years. Principal requested a new coach, denied by Admin.  Maybe now they will listen.
  5. The also want an action plan from Ozen on further punishments.  Basketball suspensions?
  6. I know Haynes has the record, but I still believe Flanigan is going to be the pick.  They had a chance to pick Haynes when they took Stump.  Kelly had a chance to take Haynes.  Crosby made the playoffs the last 7 years and Orangefield made the playoffs.  I agree there is not logic at the District level, but campus people are also involved in this pick.
  7. Looking at this logically, of the the 5 only 3 have been head football coaches/ AD's.  Those are Haire, Flanigan, and Haynes.  Bowser and Foreman do not have the experience as HC in football.  That will pull them out. Haire is the unknown factor being from a AA program.  In addition, the demographics at Lago Vista are completely different.  I do not see him in the final 2. Flanigan is from the area and has been successful.  I know he followed Haynes at Crosby, but he has been there for a number of years.  In addition, his offense at Orangefield was different than at Crosby, which tells me he fits the system to the athletes available.  Haynes is a very good coach with a great record but he tends to take over a program and leave shortly thereafter. My guess is still Flanigan.
  8. It will come down to Flanigan and Haynes.  Both have run successful programs.
  9. West Brook's athletes already "act right".  What WB needs is a coach that can work with the middle school feeders, and can evaluate their talent and use them in a scheme that best fits.  I do not believe that Langston is that man.  My bet from the names I have seen is Flanigan, although if Haynes has applied he would be right up there.
  10. Key phrase - linebacker coach - knows nothing about d line or backs. He needs time at a coordinator position.
  11. He tends to "disappear".  His work ethic is questionable.
  12. I don't see JB as a possibility. More likely to be a coach from a smaller program. Flanagan(?) from Crosby, Matthews from Vidor, etc.
  13. He has not recommended anyone. If the Principal calls him, I think he would give an honest opinion. I heard he left on great terms with campus administration.
  14. At this point I his career, Kirby is not ready for the campus coordinator position. He needs to at least be a DC before HC.
  15. Stump was recruited by the AD of the Humble district.  He has a good chance to rebuild another program.  I believe he sees some lean years for WB and got out.  In addition, there was some hurtful things said about his son as qb, and while Craig could take it, I am not sure his wife wanted to go through that with the youngest son.  Coaches leave and are replaced.  I hope he does well.
