Rez Ipsa got a reaction from NDNWarrior in What the heck.... Lets give the people what they want..........MCM 2017
Someone can correct me on this, but there has never been a season in PNG history, until now, where PNG has scored above 40 in seven straight games. This is an unprecedentedly efficient (relative to PNG) offense that Nederland has to stop. I won't say Nederland can't do it. They certainly held Memorial to a low-scoring contest, and they embrace the underdog role. I don't think Nederland can contain PNG for four quarters, and I don't think Nederland's offense is good enough to take every opportunity PNG's defense gives them. My prediction: PNG 50--Nederland 21.
Looking at common opponents (which we all know is risky), I think Nederland has revealed some serious weaknesses in itself this season. The Bulldogs' defense is strong, but the offense doesn't offer enough to keep up in a shootout. Based on the past several years, you have to be ready for a shootout in MCM. Nederland has managed to win in years where I think PNG should have won, but this year, PNG's offense is more consistent and explosive than ... ever.

I know this drum has been banged on before, but after the Deshaun Watson injury, I'm starting to join those who worry about Roschon's workload.

Rez Ipsa reacted to Bulldogpower in Port Neches-Groves Coach Faircloths first 100 games
They were, I was like okay people grow up really, everybody lost to Nederland from 2011-2015 in district until GCM snapped the 30 game winning streak. It's not like BF was the only coach on the L side of things those couple years. Disrespectful to the fullest

Well, now that I finally have come out of a busy period. I just wanted to respond and thank all of you for the very kind words.
But in reality there are many factors aside from me that make this board what it is.
First, I have an awesome board owner in Jordan Wilson, who, sometimes foolishly so (LOL!) gives me free reign on the board.
First, a have an awesome partner in crime in AggiesAreWe that is always there late at night to help me close out the particular task I am working on. I have mods that are able to help with the same.
Second, I happen to be in an area where we have coaches who, even though they are under absolutely no obligation to do so, will provide information I request of them in a matter of minutes. So I ask of you when you wish to criticize them, be mindful of the information that they as a whole provide to me.....and ultimately to you.
Third, a believe this board is what it is because of you all contribute. Personally, I think this board is at it's best when all of us are contributing and you have certainly satisfied that. I might not agree with the contribution and when I don't, I will sure let you know. Yet, it is still welcomed.
And finally, I have a saint of a wife who knows that on the weekend, my presence is only physical. However, don't weep for her as she finds ways for me to make amends for it!
Now, as to what seems a burning question for some, "How does he find the time to do this?"
What I am about to reveal is known to the staff and some of the Mustang fans. In March of 2014, a previously diagnosed condition of congestive heart failure had progressed to the point to where I was hospitalized and ultimately placed on both heart and kidney transplant lists. I was hospitalized for just short of 3 months as I was placed on a left ventricular assistance device (LVAD).......some call it a heart pump.....I lovingly refer to it as "my little buddy." Some who know former Silsbee and A&M star William Morrisey are familiar with this. In fact, Moe and I go to the same doctor in Houston. The LVAD helps me live a normal life and I am currently not in grave danger. But my condition makes a work day impossible until I get the two transplants above and perhaps even after that.
So absent a work day, devoting my time to the site helps pass the time until I "get the call" and hurriedly rush to Houston. Given that this board has to do with high school sports which remains in my mind the purest level of sport, it is a labor of love.
That it is appreciated certainly doesn't hurt. I will do my best as my physical condition allows.
Now, enough of this, I am busy. Off to get more stats...no more basketball schedules.......no more football playoff scenarios....no volleyball playoff schedules........What!? Soccer season is almost here!? Sigh!!!!!!!

And to think some people wanted to run coach faircloth out of town for losing to Nederland 6 years in a row. Objectively I have felt that coach faircloth is a good coach for PNG he just needed to cut out the boneheaded play calling.

Rez Ipsa reacted to prepballfan in Port Neches-Groves Coach Faircloths first 100 games
Coach Brandon Faircloth has just completed his first 100 games at PN-G. He has established himself well in the local area as a pretty good coach. He has 69 wins to 31 loses. That's an even 69% winning percentage. Coach Faircloth went 11-1 in his first season at PN-G going undefeated for the district championship. PN-G beat Barbers Hill that season in a close match 21-7 and lost to State Finalist Brenham Cubs 27-21. PN-G was driving deep into Brenham territory when time ran out. In his second season PN-G went 8-5, but they mad it through Barbers Hill again with the exact same score as the year before 21-7. Both BH games were hard fought all the way to the end. The second round he faced a high-powered offense in Willis that season and at Beaumont's new stadium the Indians came away with a 50-47 victory only to draw Manvel in the next round. This game was going to be a massive blowout by all accounts. Somehow Coach Faircloth led his team to make it a close game 56-46. Coach has lead PN-G down the trails of victory for almost 9 seasons now and with his win against Central he has surpassed Coach Gene McCollum as the third-winningest coach in Indian history. He needs 27 more wins to pass up first Doug Ethridge and then Coach Matt Burnett to become the Indians all-time winningest coach. So I believe that through Coach Faircloth's first 1oo games he has done a great job for the Indians helping the Indians achieve 29 All-State selections. He has been to the playoffs 8 out of his 9 seasons and either won outright or been a part of 4 district championships and has been 2nd in district two more times. He has had only one single losing season. Coach Faircloth beat Nederland for this first time since 2009 and maybe starting his own streak against them. Good luck Coach Faircloth as you begin rewriting the record books at PN-G with the players and coaching both.

Fine. High School game losses don't bother adults. Im not even a coach. I have no stakes if they lose. If they lose they lose. Ask anyone and I think they would say png goes about 3 rounds again anyway with a 4th round at the most with their limitations. As for the the 2-3 players thing, hate on em all you want but our #3 reciever has has more td receptions than your leading wr. That says that Jones and Hines does all the scoring. Maybe your reliance on 2 players on offense is more than you realize.

Nederland better buckle up next week. No cupcakes, or gimmicks. Beat Chumperton down and rest your kids.... Get ready for the #1 Rivalry in the state of Texas. All you little barkers take your shock collars off and turn up the trash talking. I'm looking for dinner bets right now... Ain't gonna be pretty. No coulda, woulda, shouldas... This ain't Chumperton or Vidor, or Ozen, or Memorial... This is PNGU...... We have walked through the district, heard all the crying, dispensed crates of Kleenex. No folks, it's not a video game, it's Shug and Company. I don't want to hear about sloppy field, we might this, or we might that. Facts are facts.. Pups are going down..... Can I get a reserved parking spot in someones ditch? If not I'll park in someone else's ditch. Get those stands inspected to see if they can handle the truth. Because the truth is coming, and we are bringing hell with us....... If your looking for a huckleberry you got it....Say when!!!!!
The truth has been spoken.... Indians by 17..........

What surprises me about Central over the years is that in games they should win(aside from Ozen,Lee, and Livingston) they play mess around and struggle and yet in turn fight tooth and nail in games that no one gives them a shot at winning

Rez Ipsa got a reaction from JagMarine95 in Port Neches-Groves @ Beaumont Central
Looking forward to a hard-fought game. Central is always a tough, worthy opponent. I think PNG is going to win this one, but New Caney was also supposed to blow Central out in the first round last year, and Central almost got away with a win. This is easily a trap game for PNG.
