I could think of worse things you could be obsessed with...some not legal.
 
But it shouldn't lead to a physical fight. Some people are very passionate bout some football.
 

That is not due to obsession over high school sports.  That is simply someone who doesn't have the good sense to conduct themselves in public and probably conduct themselves in that way in other facets of their life.

As far as playing a cupcake schedule or a trough schedule......... when you play in a weak district and every game your starters are sitting just about the whole 2nd half.... that is not getting them ready for the playoffs and the fight your going to face in the playoffs.... you have to schedule bigger and tougher schools for the preseason to one, see what you really have and what your actually capable of doing as a team!! getting beat 4 times in the preseason by good teams but learning about your team is better than that 10-0 schedule !!!! that cupcake schedule doesn't lead you to state titles in any sport!!
   

Based on your thoughts, and others above, I agree.  I think Coach Williams does a good job of that.  First game was a gimme.  Maybe Evadale and Sugarland Logo Preps were both desperate for someone to play (like WOS & Kipp).  But all of the other 4 are above Evadale's classification.  Two 3A schools, and two 2A D1 schools.  Especially in small schools, who knows who's going to be good, and who isn't most of the time.  Evadale and Hull Daisetta are two that are much improved.  Two years ago, we might have been 2-2 at this point, with this schedule.  
Just hope the Rebels are focused.  The next two games could be losses if they aren't ready mentally.  I think Coach Williams will get that done.

If you haven't seen HD play you know that these two teams are not even HD has a QB with a cannon, and at times doesn't even have to use it because our backs just haven't been able to be stopped. HD defense is also very aggressive, some people may be shocked when they roll into town.

Historic year.  I'm about to pick HD for the 5th consecutive game on pickems.  Historic.

Lol that want happen, but we have been underrated all year, I like it better that way. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying HD is gonna go in and beat Evadale( I like to think so) but it will be closer than you think either way it goes.

While I don't share many of the over the top claims that a few of my fellow Mustang fans have made, in answer to your question.......um, No.

Don't be fooled by 3A Hemphill's 0-4 record.  They haven't been blown out, and the last two defeats against West Sabine, always tough, and Beckville, who is 4-0.  Evadale will enter the game as #15 (if I did my math right) in the State in the AP poll for 2A.  Only one vote, but by George, we'll take it.   While I expect the Rebels to win, I'm not looking for a blowout.  What say y'all?

I was once told if someone cut you open you would bleed blue! Lol and that's true I will always support my dogs! Yes we have gotten off to a very rough start this year.. Not something we are used to here at Corrigan.. We've went from being one of the highest scoring offenses in the state to barely scoring anything.. But if there's one thing I know we didn't make the playoffs for over 20 years in a row not having a good football program.. Our team this year is very young.. And still learning..But in the past 3 games I can see improvements.. I believe we are not out of it this season! I believe we are gonna fight our tails off for a 3rd or 4th place spot! And we for sure are not already writing down a loss to Newton and Crockett.. Corrigan has some athletes on this years team if we can just get everyone back that played on varsity last year this years team will be hard to handle next year! There's alot of Corrigan fans that have giving up this year but there's alot that are still holding on.. I myself will say this when there's no one left in the stands this bulldog will still be there!

Afraid not.  I'm thinking Anahuac will be Hardin's last legitimate shot for a win.

It was a great southeast Texas football game just like I thought it would be. Hardin played very well the Hull-Daisetta kids wanted this game bad and played their hearts out the whole game good luck to Hardin on the rest of their season can't wait to see this one again next year

Mackey or not, with 17 returning starters, I think Evadale will get over the hump this year anyway.   And even though most of you may think it's a bad decision, it's his to make.  And you've got to know he has, to him, a very good reason for such a big decision.  I doubt he did it on a whim.  

Surely you didn't think I'd let you guys go through the season without me.  Too many people to aggravate.

TEAM A -Your kids are all great and so are the coaches. TEAM B - Thank you and so are yours.
TEAM A -  My team has won several district championships but I don't want to talk about them. TEAM B - I hear you, my team hasn't won 2 in the last 50 years but I am sure they will start winning this year. TEAM A - I sure hope so because I hate my team winning all the time and the poor fans from my home town taking pride in a long winning tradition. 
TEAM A -My team will play its best but if we lose it is because the other team was just awesome and all calls went well for both teams. TEAM B - Yes, so will ours and hopefully can all go 5-5 and tie for first place and have 635 state champions.

See, I have had it up to here with all of the bitching and moaning about how this board is administrated.  We have rules, you may want to take time to read them.  But if you don't like them or don't like how they are doled out?  Then QUIT!  I know that most of you that come on here and bitch and moan about the site (here or elsewhere)think that you have views that are so valuable that we can't live without them.  Hey, I've read 'em...NEWSFLASH....they ain't that valuable.

If you don't like the moderation policies and board rules, you are more than welcome to join OldSchool.  If you wish to ignore those rules that decision will be made for you!

Matt Stepp of TOC is reporting DC Cody Day has been promoted to HC at WH.  Says former HC Michael Atkinson is now AD only.  Can someone please explain why in the world WH would need to split those duties?

I could care less.  But a question came up in another thread that I was curious about.  The question didn't belong in that thread...so I'll put the question here.  Here's an interesting quote I got from it:
"Just so you know the number of kids that got the opportunity to play ball at the next level since Foreman has been there is 2013 team - 12, 2014 - 13 and 2015 -9."
That's 34 kids...with 2 more committing to a D1 school already recently.  So...why isn't this obvious talent converting to wins?  Specifically, playoff wins.
