According to radar on my phone, looks like Lumberton is far enough north to be missing most of the rain. I would say expect light rain if anything. Should be some good football weather!! Can't wait!!!!

these two teams both have coaches who believe in playing a disciplined game. I can't speak for coach Matthews, although I'm sure the same goes for him, but if any Lumberton kid is trying to start fights he will be yanked off the field pretty quick by coach babin. It might get chippy, but it won't last long. Not with these two coaches.

Chad Luttrell was the receiver your thinking of (played qb for Lumberton I believe)... And probably T.J. Light on defense?? I'm not quite sure. But I was coached by both of them.. But yes we had a few good years in 2007-2009.. 2007 three rounds deep into the playoffs beating defending state champions Lamarque and were tri-district champs that year, next year bi-district champs and lost in first round. 2009 we were decent but missed the playoffs.

Lol maybe they should make them give each other a big hug before the game too!

Babin should have these boys ready to do their talking between the whistles. Hopefully no personal fouls against the raiders.

It's good to see that out of the two most "racist" towns in this area, at least one of us has evolved.

Upon looking a little closer at this year so far in District, here is my honest evaluation of this game.. Everyone says Vidor's offense can't be stopped. But I say the same for Lumberton's too.. The only team Vidor scored more points on than we did was Lee with 83 points (which is crazy! lol), but we still scored 58 so we weren't far behind. Ozen, vidor scored 28, we scored 51. The other games have been pretty even, we tied on points scored against Central, and we had 1 more point against GCM so pretty even there too... So it's a toss up on who's offense is better..

Defense wise, it's a no brainer. Against Lee vidor allowed 54, us 36.. Ozen they allowed 42, us 29.. GCM they allowed 24, us 14.. And Central they allowed 36 to our 28 allowed.. So against same opponents our defense is clearly the better unit..

So, the key to this game is will our defense make enough stops against their offense.... Because I don't see their defense stopping our offense, especially with most everyone healthy. With all the crap talking going on here, I think we can all agree that this will be a good game. And I don't think either team is the clear winner, although I do 100% believe Lumberton will pull it off. Good luck to all and let the pads do the talking!

Could we please quit posting about the past. Yes we know that Lumberton hasn't won many games lately. That's the only defense y'all have, because we have won more than y'all this year. And beat a team that y'all lost to. And pur DC will have our defense ready to play fundamental ball and make the reads.. But question is, how do y'all plan on stopping Rhodes running behind Thomas and that big offensive line??

now y'all wanna talk about "butt hurt"... After all the whining I've read on here from Vidor fans on how our coach is talking crap. Maybe you just can't stand that what I said was true.. And relevant. So that was your only comeback.

good luck with that. Y'all have proven what you can do in big games like this.. Need I remind you of yalls homecoming game?? Y'all talk of Lumberton only having one more win than Vidor. This weak Lumberton team who picks on smaller schools stepped into district making a statement by beating ozen like we did... So, if y'all wanna talk relevance, than that is as about as relevant as it gets between these two teams.. Vidor vs GCM- late comeback to win the game by Vidor. Lumberton vs GCM- never a doubt from the first td we were gonna win. In fact we held them to negative yards in the entire first half.. Vidor vs Ozen y'all couldn't win on homecoming night.. Lumberton puts a beating on them in the second half. Thats relevance, that's this year. Keep talking about how horrible Lumberton is and has been in the past so it makes y'all look even worse on Friday night when y'all lose to our horrible team..

a shutout would be nice, but honestly I see their offense having some successful drives. But I just think our offense will be more successful and in the end come out with a win. Our defense will make some stops, run game is what we would rather defend.

The the ironic part about the previous comments is that Vidor will supposedly beat Lumberton because of their dangerous slot t offense that is "ran to perfection." But yet if and when they do not win this game, or any other game for that matter, their offense will be to blame by their own supporters... Doesn't make sense to me. 

to all the upset Vidor fans, here is a good example of "trash talking" that you've been complaining about.. See the difference between this and Lumberton saying "Vidor is a very good team, but we are better and will win if we play like we should"?? We'll do the rest of our talking Friday night between the whistles.

Prayers for Bridge City's qb, I believe it was 7th grade A team. On the last play of the game tonight in Silsbee he was hurt, and it looked pretty bad. He was not moving, and taken off on a stretcher. Praying for healing for him and peace for his family. Hate seeing that for such a young person, especially on the very last play!! Scary

lol well give him a ladder then so he can say it to his face haha just kidding!!

go watch the video and actually pay attention.. "I think we are better than them and should beat them if we play mistake free ball like we did against GCM." I would expect any coach to say that against any team. And he even complimented yalls offense on the comeback against Goose Creek..... Of course that isn't being mentioned though.....
