Crosby running game has to step it up to be competitive against Manvel. Howard won't be able to beat Manvel by himself offensively. Defense and running game have to make a statement.

The same amount of times as Manvel.

Simple solution here.  Go to the fieldhouse and tell Riordan how it needs to be.  I'm sure he'd love to talk to y'all about it.
Honestly though, I think Crosby is going to be fine.  Jeff typically doesn't show a whole lot during scrimmages and is known for not playing starters.

Crosby kept it very vanilla, didn’t show much in both scrimmages, the experiment with 23 should be over, 24 and 33 should be the featured backs, and 8 and 19 should be on the sidelines keeping the Gatorade cool. 4 and 11  but should be starting on offense with 84 getting major minutes. It’s go time, Jeff needs to take the gloves off. 

It looks like Crosby vs. Splendora.  Crosby scores every time and Splendora doesn’t. 

Scrimmages are more a tool for coaches than anything else. Like how Crosby DC made some adjustments  when he noticed they were attacking the same side. Sounds simple but last years DC could not or would not make that adjustment.  

Oh yeah, Crosby is going to be a tough team to beat. QB is solid and can scramble, but need to work on that run game. That will come in time. 
I was worried about our run game after losing BJ Foster and Tamerik Williams, but those 3 or 4 rbs that Angleton have are all tough runners with good speed. I think we’ll be ok there. 
As far as injuries, I didn’t see anyone get hurt last night for both teams other than our TE #11 take a wicked shot going up for a catch down the middle and getting hit in mid air. He held on to the ball but came back to the sideline afterward. Looked like maybe he got the wind knocked out because the trainer really wasn’t working on anything on him so maybe that’s all it was. Well I hope so because he’s our QB’s favorite receiver. Anyway good luck to Crosby. To bad we won’t meet again because I think you all are in division 2.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. Angleton is extremely physical and player for player probably the best team we would line up with even if we were to make a state championship run. 
Angleton moved it well on Crosby during the controlled portion of the scrimmage but I think one of the instances you’re talking about them moving it through the air was #11 catching that TD over the middle? QB was looking back of the end zone and most likely a pick but #11 jumped up underneath and caught it. QB made some good throws and looks a lot better since we played him as a freshman. 
Crosby is breaking in new rbs and o-linemen, it was going to be learning curve regardless. Y’all made it damn near impossible to run the ball, so scoring off screens when you’re caught in blitzes is what we do. I would argue Crosby missed two more scoring opportunities when the qb underthrew a wide open #10 down the sideline in the controlled potion and also in the live portion when he threw the screen into the dirt when Crosby had y’all caught blitzing again. You can put those on the board a couple weeks from now. Deep threat that wasn’t playing would’ve helped but oh well.

The key thing that Riordan said that a lot of people don't know is that QB Jayden Howard can run the ball.  He hasn't run much during his varsity years, but as a freshman and jr. high player, he was definitely a dual threat QB.  Glad to hear they will utilize him as such. 

I have really grown to like Coach Riordan after following him on Twitter. He is a stand-up man and coach. Hats off to him and his staff. Good men help lead kids down the right pathways in life. Coach Faircloth and Coach Riordan are great friends and also very similar men in the way they work in their communities. I really appreciate all of the men and women out there who give up part of their life to the support of their communities. Keep working hard. Its appreciated by the kids whose lives are affected by the labor.

O-line had been suspect all year but again nothing missing. If you want to win in the playoffs you have to put your best on the field. Just having #16 on the field at WR will open up your run game. Against RP we rather abandoned the run game than allow Trey Edwards to be the face of the victory. We need coaches that aren't in to politics. MAKE CROSBY GREAT AGAIN

I'm not trying to rub salt in a wound but as pathetic as Dayton was they were able to run pretty much the same couple plays all night against Crosby. You could probably put Daytons playbook on a tiny napkin. I just kept thinking Crosby would turn things around with the players they had. Well congrats on a good year and I'm sure y'all will most likely be battling for the district championship again next year. But until everyone around here wakes up I don't see any deep playoffs runs from our district.
