I don't disagree if one is hired from outside the district.  My question is about Langston and coaching in HS football in Texas.  What happened at his last job?  I also googled his name and read an article from when he was fired at Central Oklahoma and it talked about NCAA rules violations, No control over his athletic programs, and no more than five wins over any one of his last three seasons.  So my question is if he has been fired from at least two jobs that are known, then how does that qualify him as the "Greatest Guy" for WB to hire.  I don't doubt the knowledge of the game, but you better be able to communicate that to the kids, as well as relate to the WB kids of 2012.  That is what will make him the best candidate for the WB HFC, and not weather or not he worked under Rex Ryan or whatever some think make him great.

Not trying to pour salt on the whole Chuck Langston is the greatest the since canned beer, but what happened at his last job at Trinity High School?  He was let go is the information that I got.  Does anybody know any details?

Maybe I am hearing from the wrong people at Hardin, the Higher-Ups at Hardin that I spoke with this afternoon didn't know anything about anybody from HD being a front runner for this job.  Maybe I am not talking to the correct persons.  Can some one fill me in? Is Slack a done deal or what?

I stand corrected on Mason's offense.  That is the only game that I didn't actually see.  I called around for info on there offense and was given bad info.  I stand corrected mason didn't run the spread offense.

I think it says alot for the character of the players, coaches, and all involved in the WOS program that this game was played.  I was told that it was discussed to not play this game and wait until district 21-3A  play begun.  Regardless of the outcome I think it would be hard to critisize any aspect of the WOS team at this point.  Lets face it, to me it did not look near like the team that I witnessed against Friendswood, but there will be improvement.  This team has been through alot the past two weeks and should be commended for how they have handled the adversity. 

Also my last repy to this topic.  It is obvious that the people on here disputed the weight lifting and making excuses why there school doesn't win in basketball have NEVER played past the high school level.  I can assure you that in college even the girls volleyball team has an in season and offseason weight program.  As far as HF goes, you would think that you would be happy that someone was trying something different at a program that has been down in all sports for some years now.  I will leave you once again with this statement.  If an athlete or group of athletes wants to win bad enough, then they will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to be successful.  Stop making excuses and GO TO WORK!!!

I can't speak for Silsbee and HJ, but WOS has been to a Basketball State Tourney in the last five years and they lift in season.  Maybe if Lebron and Durrant would lift they would actually win a CHAMPIONSHIP, intead of watching people that do lift win them.  It is hard for me to believe that Lebron James doesn't lift weights.  EXCUSES EXCUSES EXCUSES

[/quote] I will name two just in our area that have successful programs year in and year out in multiple sports.  Barbers Hill and West Orange-Stark.  Both these schools have programs set up where there kids lift year round.  You can make all kind of excuses of why you don't win.  The bottom line is if the kids in the program want to win bad enough they will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to put in the time to do so.  If the coach of a sport wants to win bad enough he will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to do so.  I saw Jordan give an interview once about his routine the day of a game, and he talked about his routine the day of his first NBA title.  He told the reporter that the morning of the game he set a personal best bench press mark, and he is the GREATEST.  I can assure you that if you are not lifting on a regular basis and you play another basketball team that is, you are going to be abused!  Just my opinion!!!

Rizon I think the post you are questioning was refferring to a battle between the Region III team title between WOS and Tatum, and not the 800.

Not sure what is going between these two schools.  I can remember after Hurricane Ike the LCM coach  at the time was dodging playing the Mustangs and it seems the same is happening now.  I'm sure there is more to the story than what we all are aware of.  I would also like to hear Coach Crouch's reasoning on this decision.

This is definately one of the negatives about having an OPEN forum!  You get a few idoits that try to tear teams and people down, instead of praising when praise is due.  Congrats to Kville on a great season!  Please pay no attention to the negative and Jealous people on this board!!
