Congrats to Team USA for winning the Gold.  They held on for another single digit victory and I think put to rest the comparisons with the REAL DREAM TEAM.  I watched The Gasol Brothers and Ibaka give Team USA all the post play they wanted.  I could only imagine what would happen if Ewing, Robinson, and Malone were to face them.  THE ORIGINAL DREAM TEAM IS BY FAR THE GREATEST TEAM THERE EVER WAS AND WILL BE!!!!!

I think if you are a 5A school or maybe a 4A school that old saying is more appropriate, but it is almost impossible at the 3A and under level not to play sophmores in starting roles.  Therefore if everyone does it, then it kinda balances out.  JMO 

I heard of Coach Byrd being sick last week and I was very saddened.  Great Guy and Great Coach.  Count me in.  Prayers go out to Coach Byrd and his family.

Actually every playoff game that Chapel hill played was decided by 10 points or less except Jasper.  Chapel Hill beat Jasper 70 - 28.  During the regular season Chapel Hill had three more games that were decided by 10 points or less.  Chapel Hill had three gamesduring the that they won by one point.  Jasper on the other hand, the team that could "Run it Whenever and However" was 6-5, LOST TO ORANGEFIELD, and did not beat one team with a winning record.  However I do think that Jasper did finally get a quality Head Coach in Darrell Barbay, who will do things correctly and stay for more than two years.  Good luck to the Jasper Bulldogs in 2012!

The current USA team does have many athletes, but I would think the game plan of the Dream Team would be to pound it down low.  There would be NO CONTEST!!!!!  2012 beat Lith by 5!  Are you serious?  Barkley, Malone, and Ewing would take Love and Bynum's lunch money and make them sit there and watch as they ate there food.  Too Physical for the current players!!!!!  Bynum would be hanging out alot around that 3-point line that he seems to like.

The opening paragraph says that the 2011 season was the first time since 1995 that WOS made it to the regional finals.  WOS made it to State in 2000 and the Semi-Finals in 2005 before falling to State Champion Wimberly.

This thread should be Can PAM do it again, again, and again????  There is only one team in the last two years that has won more playoff games and that is Coldspring with 9.  PAM went 3 rounds in 2010 and 5 rounds in 2011, for a total of 6 playoff wins.  I think Coach Harrison has done a great job at PAM, and I don't see any reason why that should change!  If PAM loses 3 games it will be including the playoffs and I think they will go a minimum of 3 rounds!  Just my opinion!  Good Luck Titans in 2012!!!!!

Everybody has there own opinion of how Huckaby was handled, and mine is that his handling from the board was mishandled.  I know this is hard for people to believe, but ALL board members responsibilities are is involved in the area of school policies NOT DAY TO DAY OPERATION of how schools are run!  There in lies the problem.  IMO!!!  catfever I am sure your opinion is much different than mine, and I respect that.

Anybody that has been paying attention to how the board treated Huckaby and everything surrounding that entire situation knows better than to apply for the Orangefield job.  Just my opinion, but I would think that and timing had alot to do with the low number of Apps.  Good Luck Coach Smalley!

Regardless of what media outlet voted Coach Harrison the Coach of the Year, I think he is definately deserving.  The point that I think Smitty is trying to make is that Coach Harrison should not receive any awards do to the fact he has talented players, and I think that is not fair.  Jimmy Johnson has a street named after him, and he had really talented players both in college and in the NFL.  The fact is Coaches have to get those really talented players to play as a team and win.  Trust me there are very talented teams every year that don't win!  Since Coach Harrison has taken over PA has gone 3 rounds and 5 rounds.  Did they just get talent or did they have it with the prior coaching staffs?  My piont is the coaching is the difference, and I guy should not be punished for receiving awards just because he has talent.  Just my Opinion!

There is definately no logic to BISD and the fact that there are campus people involved doesn't really change that fact.  Who on that campus knows football well enough to make the call on the new HFC at WB?

[/quote] Im not sure if this job will be filled from the outside or inside, but my point is this there are people who have come on this board as of late protesting that Langston is the best guy for the community and the best role model for the kids of WB and there are numerous article's and proof of suspension and firings from cheating.  There are literally 10+ articles on google, yahoo, MSN, etc about multiple violations after he served a two game suspension for similar violations.  He then got fired in less than a semester from a 2A head job at Trinity.  There were also similar blogs that took place just before he got hired at Trinity that read "I can't believe a Superintendent and Board would hire a guy that had so many documented incidents against him to lead young people.  I have heard this is why he did not even get an interview last spring when he applied for the East Chambers job.  That just does not seem to be the same guy who some people are making him out to be on this site!
