U_da_man, my point is people are left to speculate because the truth isn't out there. If admin did nothing wrong, just make a clear statement of what happened and let the people know.

Once again, a clear explanation would be nice. Problem is I know administration is not going to clearly state why he left and he is not going to sling mud. I truly do not think it is only about teaching a few classes.

Hope they get a good one committed to come pick up where Morgan left off and be around a little while. I would stay as close as possible to still get a good coach. He must instill discipline. 

Well regardless, we now must move forward. However, I do not like it when people employed by tax dollars and put in positions by voters think that they don't have to give  any explanation to the tax payers and voters. I am not saying Morgan is right or wrong. I am just saying that I think the people deserve explanation as to what has happened and why. I may be wrong, but they hired Bickham and everyone knew he had some sketchy history and now they make a good hire, but can't keep him. If Morgan leaving is his on fault, fine. If he is leaving due to unkept promises or administrative power moves, that is not fine. There has to be some accountabilty or people in power become dictators.

I really wish Jasper would not have let one slip in Central and they would be in 1st place alone instead of tied. That is behind you now guys, got get it!

Sure would be nice to know what "the vision changing" meant. It had to be with the administration. People deserve some answers from the administration and the board and nobody wants to talk. The board may not want to give answers now, but if they don't they may answer when their seat comes up again. Something has got to give for the sake of the kids and there should be some explanations given to the people of the Jasper school district. I am not saying who is right and wrong, just saying there should be some information given to the people of the community that are concerned and have questions. Do they not answer to the people who voted for them and whom they vowed to work for and with in the district? 

They were informed by their lawyer they had to accept the resignation per kjas. No other action was taken. They better get on the ball with the hiring process now. They will probably wind up replacing several by years end. There will be at least two and probably four or five gone now. Better find a strong leader now!

I am wondering if Morgan has any desire to stay even if things get "worked out" through the school board? Anyone hearing anything?

So he is definitely leaving? April 16th is 3 weeks away and if we have to get someone that is wasted time. People in leadership in Jasper never cease to mess things up. Good gosh it gets old. 

WOSgrad, you are probably correct, but that doesn't make it right if they know what will happen. If he is set on leaving I am not sure it matters whether or not they accept anything.

Well, he was an AD/Head football and being AD doesn't mean you will be at every varsity sport game. I am not taking up for him, just saying I know a lot of AD's that do just as he did. They cant be everywhere all the time. As for trying to kill the kids by working them to death, all the kids I know liked him and played for him. I am not particularly pleased with the way he has handled this, but I do not know all the reasons, so I will reserve judgment on that. Overall, he did improve things in many ways and bring in some good coaches. 

Well, seems like we are all going to get the old silent treatment now. Nobody can say anything. They could say " we are working on it", or " he is set on leaving", or something to let the people and kids know where the process lies. All we know is the school board is meeting again Monday or Tuesday. They have to know something and honestly I feel the kids and the community have the right to know whatever there is to know. JMHO

I havent heard anything about the meeting, but I did hear that there were a lot of people there in support of Morgan.

Very interesting that this meeting is scheduled. However, even if things turned around now, it would be a whole different attitude around town about Morgan. Support would go from 95 to probably 50 %. They need to get the mess settled either way.

I must say  saw one on there I WOULD NOT hire. Current place is unknown n probably for good reason

I win.  :) [/quote] If that is what you call a rise and a win then I see how we could see things very differently. There was no rise, just staing points. I dont see you winning anything either for that matter, but whatever makes you feel good. Jasper has lost in this situation for the immediate future period. It will take someone very strong mentally and in football to come in and make this transition, but it can be done. it is a black eye for both the school and in some ways Morgan.

I don't think any of the coaches other than the AD had expectations of no teaching. AggiesAreWe is normally on track, but he doesn't know this administration like some do. It IS NOT just the teaching thing. It is promises unfulfilled, power to be obtained, and fear of losing control due to popularity. There are people in leadership here that have egos much bigger than Morgan's. He was not an ego guy. This is sad. It is just a sad deal. I don't think the board wants to deal with the issues in the administration. People can debate on here all day what happened, but in the end, it  happened. Now the kids have to start all over again.       

Whoever gets the job will do good as long as they follow the disciplined approach. These kids have to be under a disciplined coaching staff. It will still take the right kind of person. I am intrigued by this guy being mentioned from WOS. That is the kind of coach we need. There is plenty of support from community and parents here. All in all Jasper is a pretty good place to be and raise a family. I f we can get the city politics and school politics right, it will be a great place to be. 

Bottom line is administration should never make promises that they cant keep. It is seeming clearer all the time that is exactly what happened. While I agree that in a school our size, coaches should  carry some teaching duties, I also would say that if they came on the premise of not teaching and things changed once you were here, I would feel used and lied to as well. I am pretty sure of where a large part of the issues lie. There is no doubt there are power struggles and problems in the administration and leadership to have had these issues over the last several years. And that is only what has happened in the athletic department. 

True Dat. I have heard about four different stories, as is normal. We will wait and see what is actually happening.
