1. Listen, if you are just watching the scores, you do not know what Jasper can be. Are they doing it right now? No. But they are a team who's talent is really better  than the scores suggest. Will they be better? Do not know. According to how the coaches adjust and the kids respond. Both of the losses so far are to really decent 4A teams. Both games gave Jasper the opportunity to be close in the end, but mental errors let it get ugly in the late third quarter on. Really not just trying to take up for them, cause they may lose every game, but they are better than the scores suggest as far as talent. They are not better in execution, which I know is huge. I am not ready to throw them under the bus yet. They have a tough schedule for an inexperienced team, but it may make them better. We will see. Do not be so sure that they wont have a good year. Health is also an issue. If they win 2-3 in pre-district and 3-4 in district, then win one playoff game, it will be a good year for such a young team. That is realistic with the schedule and district. I also feel like Jasper will win this week, but am not confident. Gonna say they win 28-24 because they get some of the mental mistakes worked out.
2. Land is right bout the Dline though. Also, many times they are making contact behind the line and not wrapping up. That shouldnt take many games. They will either tackle or they wont. We will c. I hope the best for them and if they make some changes, they can be a good 3a team this year.
3. Man, you can watch them and see they are not really low on talent, Young they are, but many of the things that are costing them look to be scheme related or are things that could be coached up. Land95, thanks for informing me about no backup QB, but they should find one because 5 was playing in pain last night.
4. Agree with Ljack, need to get people in right positions. I admire the fight and grit of #5, but he had three or four batted passes. Only ones completed come on roll outs when he gets out from behind the line. Jasper has some really good talent, but it seems youth and coaching are killing them. Not sure if this defensive scheme either. Different defense than Jasper ran last year and not sure the kids are getting it. Although, many times they are hitting them behind the line and just not tackling. I liked them running the spread O tonight more. I personally think they need to let 5 be a runner and put 2 or someone taller in QB spot. That is hard to do at this point in season, but it is hard to play 3a and 4a teams with a 5'5" QB also. This is nothing against this kid because he is nails. I do not know him personally, but he will lower his head and run into four defenders any time. Great grit and effort. Fast, just think he is a great RB, not QB maybe, but if he plays it the rest of the year I am behind him because he plays hard and it is not his fault they have put him in the position. I wasn't sure til tonight, but I think he needs to be running. Against smaller teams, it might would work. Not against the 4A teams we are playing. The good thing is that Jasper is not near as bad as the scores look if they fix tackling and mental errors. Livingston was bigger, and stronger up front. They are big and strong. The QB is fast and illusive, very fast. He does not seem to be comfortable passing and when he did, he did not seem very accurate. Missed a couple of wide open receivers. They have a big RB, but he runs straight up. Draws and trap plays are prevalent. Lumberton and other teams can pass into open spots in their zones. When we could pass w/ three wide, they werent that good in coverage. Almost scored again this way. Spread them out and mix it up. Hope some of the Lumberton guys read this as I promised I would share some things I saw. Livingston is bigger by a good bit, but Lumberton can beat them in execution and quick attack style on D and O both. Stunts and blitzes on D, do not let there line get on you because they can move you if they do.
5. More spread to spread out the defenses as well, but I am impressed with his ability and his effort. Could have quit last week after some of the mistakes on the offensive side, but he stayed strong and played very hard, as did most of the team. To help the offense, they need to spread it out sometimes and mix it up a little more. After Lumberton knew they could stack on us is when they started stopping us. Looking forward to tonight, gonna be a little wet.
6. I guess I missed the posts that this post were meant for. I have never really been a part of discussion on here that I thought was even close to racist. I am sure I just missed it. This poat sure did one thing, put attention on it. I have no problem with it, but many times when you put attention on something it gets worse instead of better. Some of the comments on here are true and I am in because I never have or never will post anything to do with race on here. Still not sure it needed to be a post, but maybe so. I am in. Child of the King where no color is seen, so it doesn't matter!
7. Ahh, speak for yourself, but I promise you, no one with any sense in Kville including Coach Alvarez is overlooking Jasper. I think it will be a very good game as the teams seem to be similar in many ways. It is a good ways down the road, but I think Jasper and Kville  will be 1&2 in district barring any major injuries or grade set backs. Jasper and Kville both have very tough pre-district schedules for 3a teams and will be well prepared for district. I think most of the districts in our area have teams that will be interesting to watch in the playoffs. Great for local football. i hope Kville beats Newton this week. Good luck.
8. It is a very scrappy, tough, district. I wish I knew more about the other teams. It is early, but if they play all 48 hard every game, they should have a shot. Will know more about Livingston after this week and will gladly pass on any thoughts as I would like for Lumberton to come out on top of Livingston in district. Not that my thoughts will matter much, but it will be interesting to see what Livingston has. Best of luck on Lumberton making the playoffs!
9. I have got to get back up there to see one of these games. Glad it worked out for them. Would have hated to see them have to do without football on Fridays. You always root for your Alma Mada to do well!
10. Well said. Also, I have played and watched a lot of football and your son is very talented. Lumberton plays hard. Wish you all the best and hope he gets to further his career after this year. He looks to have the ability to play somewhere.
11. Heard it was a positive atmosphere for Chester though. Good to hear
12. Every team loses players every  year and how good they are depends on the players that step in. These freshmen are really better than average and just need experience in games. The goal is to get them ready for district which  believe they will be. Jasper also has a good number who played last year on varsity, so it is not a total rebuilding year. BUT, an Aggie might consider it that!!!! ;D ;D :D :D
13. A good man is a man when he is humble and honest. I appreciate the gumption you have to write this. Sometimes we state our opinions and thoughts, but in a way we didnt mean to be negative. Commend you on your honesty and integrity very much. We all say things without always saying them the way we mean them from time to time.
14. Morrisee did pretty good considering. He had a few mistakes which are to be expected at this stage of the game, but all in all he did well. They have to protect the ball in the progression of their play actions/fake hand offs. There were a few miscues in this area. Not all of which were his fault. They didn't try to pass much, so cant gauge that area of his performance. When they did, passes should have been caught. I personally wish they would swap him in and out with #2 and let them mix it up at the QB/TB positions. i think 2 can throw down the field and see the field better. I AM NOT questioning the coach, just my opinion and think as much as they can both run and pass and both know the offense, it would be very effective. Would give him a B grade for first game myself. Livingston will be another good test for Jasper. They have a very athletic QB from what I hear and good RBs. I am not sure beyond that, but the QB has a reputation of being a stud. We will see. Jasper impressed me with their talent and ability. Defense needs some work and coaching, but the talent is there. Not sure why the LBs were playing so far back the other night. I know the Hughes kid could pass, but LB's cant be safeties. They need to be reading and reacting. Jasper boys keep your heads up because you looked good overall and if you eliminate errors and some youthful decisions, you will be good.
15. Really not making excuses for the hit at all, but some of you guys are going a little far. A lot of the players were leaving the field because this was a kickoff play. Some of Jasper's players were leaving the field and the hit was behind them so they did not know immediately they had the injury. They do need some instruction and the coaches need their butts kicked for not leading their kids better, but I think you all are going a little far to "hate" Jasper and think because of this one instance that they are a bad team or group of people. It will be corrected. If it happened time after time, that would be one thing, but use a little sense and grace as things happen and mistakes are made.   Starting to show a lack of class by not letting this go and using some of these terms on a broad scale. One hit, one mistake, maybe incorrectly handled, and now Jasper is terrible. That is not right. There is a lot of good kids on that team and people in those stands rooting and cheerleaders cheering. Do not let hate be your guide as to how things really are.
16.
Jasper-Silsbee-and any other program that is used to beating up Lumberton had better get used to the fact that Lumberton will now whip that tail.. ;) Oh yea.....Silsbee is already used to that.. ;D ;D ;D L-Train has beat Silsbee for prolly the last 8 or 9 straight  ;D ;D ;D
WOW!!!!! Guess what, you should in all actuality beat both of these teams because of the size of your school and numbers to pick from. Wouldn't be all excited about beating Jasper and Silsbee. Go to the playoffs and do something and then come talk. Beating 3A teams should be normal and expected, nothing to really brag about for ya! :-X ;) Wish Lumberton the best, with Nederland down, their chances are better.
17.
raideroldtimer, go back and think about the way things were before Creadur. I promise you that coaching staff knows better than you on how to coach that team
Lumberton definitely was well coached and won the coaching battle. That is a large part of why the score was like it was.
18.
yuo can look at that hit any way you want man but it was c/s hit 15 yds behind the runner   >:(
I clearly stated the hit was inappropriate and it is uncalled for. I was just saying that nobody knows that the kid delivering the hit meant it for harm. It was stupid, I agree.
19.
JBDfan:  You can analyze any game any way you want, bottom line their were missed calls on both teams like any game.  How about the pass interference call that kept Jasper in the game??  There were many missed opportunities for both.  Tensions were high for both teams because of the high scoring and Lumberton comeback.  Lumberton played very well against a very fast and physical  Jasper team.  They should do well in their district barring anymore injuries.   Raider Oldtimer:  Coach Credeur had many of his 2nd string players in on the last series including the backup QB and a 5'2 RB, please don't stir the pot and make bad assumptions and even worse comments.  Credeur was not "punishing" anyone, that's an absurd assumption.  I think you're the one who said Hughes should not be a QB, so I rest my case.
Absolutely agree that there are normally always missed calls both ways and that Lumberton played very well, especially as the game went on.
20.
The one thing that surprised me tonight was during the last minute. Usually Coach Creduer has the QB kneel it out but not tonight, they called two running plays to run out the clock. Maybe he was thinking of punishing Jasper for that illegal block if we actually got through with the ball, who knows.....
Punishing a whole team for one kids mistake? That would be classy..... really. Do not think that had anything to do with it. If he wanted to punish, he would have tried to pass for a TD. The block was poor, but give the kid the benefit of the doubt of getting caught up in the game. Bad decision, yes. Ill intended, probably had no intention of hurting anyone. He certainly needs scolding by the coaches and I am sure he will be. Actually, he was right there at the game.
