It would be an option.
Apple Springs, Oakwood, Trinidad, Levertt's Chapel and Karnack are all in this area playing 6-man.....that would make a pretty good district with Chester added into the mix.....I hate to see Chester having these problems and hope that things work out.....
Did not realize Oakwood went 6 man. They were good when we played them in 12  man. There is an example of a once good team needing to go to 6 man. Not saying this is what Chester needs, but Oakwood is an example.
2.

I know it would be hard to fill up a schedule, but what about a move to 6 man football for Chester?
This past season Chester had to cancel their last couple of games. If they are in the same position next season I can't imagine how they would have a choice. I don't want players hurt and I know that is why this season was shelved, but you can't keep having opponents schedule games only to be left without games when the roster is so depleated that you can't field a team. The choice would be 6 man or no football. It is difficult, but there is the fairness issue for the other teams on the Chester schedule.
There is certainly truth to what you are saying as well. It is not only about what Chester wants, but also about being able to know the other teams will get  to play their games.
3. That has been thrown out there as an idea, but travel would be crazy. It would be an option. The other thing is this, people there are not quitters and do not want to do any different until there is no other option. That I admire. They are a gritty bunch over there, but a good bunch!
4. Wish them all the best as well, but and hope they all do well. Numbers are lower in Chester than ever, even heard a coach from another school say he wasnt sure they would be able. We will see.
5.
Then go with twenty! Chester has a proud football tradition, and I would hate to see it go. Suiting 20 would not be that far removed than most of their opponents. Keep it goin' Chester!
Know a little more about it than I was letting on, but seriously doubt they will suit out twenty. Do not know for sure. I think there will only be three seniors. I do not think people realize just how hard a season is on the kids playing when there are so few kids. The ones that do play many times are undersized and less talented as a whole compared to what they play against. It is easy for outsiders to say " keep it goin" when they haven't been there. The tradition is great and I do not want it to go, but the hard reality may be different. What about what is safe and good for the kids? I played on a very short numbered and overpowered team. I played both ways and played quarterback. For two years we got creamed physically and competitively. Average line weight was about 170 because of lack of kids to play. I agree in wanting them to have it, but unless you have been there, you do not know what the heck you are talking about. There is more to think of than just running those kids out in a uniform just to say you have a team. There is there well being. All I will say right now on that.
6. Those would likely be his choices because that is where his family is. As for Chester, I just have to wonder how many players they are going to have to suit out for football. I admire them and always have or trying to stay in twelve man football, but even as close to my heart as they are, they might have to consider all options at this point. Doesnt sound like numbers are going up at all. Would they be able to suit twenty?
7. Soon enough? This is district! Should've  had those kinks out by now.  ;)
8. WHO REALLY KNOWS? ;D :) Probably win bi-district or get a bye. Then it all depends on how bad they want it and how well they stick together. I have to wonder if the whole Franklin coaching woth son playing somewhere else thing will eventually play an unintentional mental part. What if Chester plays Evadale in the playoffs? Oh, the drama! Hope they keep there heads together and go to Austin. That is a possibility, but will be very difficult and take great effort.
9. One of Chester's strong points this year is having four or more guys that can take the mound ad be good. Go Jackets!
10.
Burkeville - Tylor Erwin..great pitcher (when he gets runs support)
I really do not mean this ugly, but if he was that great in 1A, he wouldn't need much run support. I know you have to score a few to win, but not that many with a "great" pitcher in 1A. I am sure he is very good, but maybe not great. I can tell you that the great ones in the area like Hester, Hicks, Sowell etc.,,, would not need much run support. If he is great, one to three runs a game in 1A should do it and yes I played in 1A on teams that were ranked every year and so I do know what I am saying here. There are several very good pitchers in 1A and yet very few great pitchers.
11. Boy, I must have missed a post on this topic that got erased. Anyway, congrats to Chester and I to believe they will go past the first round. I just need to find time to get out and see them play!
12. Just watched Parker catch a huge game and suck up every sharp curve in the dirt Sowell threw. He threw them low because he knew Parker would catch them. He is very good. Every throw to a base was practically perfect.
13.
evadale won 8-7 close one evadale wasnt very sound in defensive play
WOW.  :o :o Evadale is reachable. ;) ;) Wish them well, unless they play one certain team in the playoffs. They really should win district, but you know what they say about any given day! Better keep their focus.
14. This was a good game. Pitcher's duel for the most part. Jasper played pretty clean except for some base running mistakes. Sowell pitched well and defense did also with good outfield coerage and a double play that helped in the infield. Jasper is TOUGH 1-6. 7-9 are average, but play hard and do not show as weakness on D. Good job Dawgs
15.

So, what about the coach?
Im gonna leave that one alone dude  ;D [/quote mmmm. Must be touchy then! ;) ;) ;)
16. Jasper and Vidor both have some good young players. Vidor has one good young pitcher. Has three good pitches, but needs to work on control and pith placement. Pitched 6 in the final and got the win. Jasper has good young players that have been coached well according to the way they play. Looks like the varsity teams may get helped by these next year.
17. Nobody wants to tackle that coaching question. Doesn't seem to have had a negative effect.
18. Can not really blame them. District starts in three days.
19. Would think so because of Vidor's victory earlier in the tournament. Earlier posting of the bracket said Jasper would have to win twice. Hope they do!
20. What has Chester done on this tourney? I know they lost to Anahuac. What about second and third games? Man, Evadale switching coaches early!?!?!?
21. Admire Evadale for not picking the easiest team to play right off the bat. I do not think West Sabine was even in the bottom three in this tourney, unless they are worse off than I think.
22.
Doesn't the host team of tournaments in all sports play the schedule to their advantage ???
Yes, of course. Home teams in tournaments play it to their advantage, but in this format there is a little different set up. Two of the other teams in the first two days have to play back to back while Woodville is on their laurels til the night game. Not only do they get to pick who they are playing, but wear the other teams out in the mean time when they could have played one of those games and broke up the back to backs on the other teams.  JMO. I guess the teams agreed to play it that way, but not sure I would have.
23. Some obvious home cookin on that schedule!  ;) :)
24.
Jasper probably takes this tournament. Leaving just a small chance of an upset by Dayton or maybe Vidor. Do not think that will happen, but it is theoretically possible.
Go dawgs. Should be two tourney's in a row.
