Yeah definitely gonna see where we are at to start the season lol
You will be fine either way. Is this a home and home or they going neutral site? We ended up having to make a deal with Brenham. Still not sure where those games will be played. 4 1/2 hours one way.

The good thing Carthage has 18 starters coming back. The entire D line will be 3 year starters, all 3 linebackers and two in the secondary. The Dawgs started 10 sophomores ( very talented sophomores) QB as a sophomore threw for 3,800 yards, 44 touchdowns with 6 interceptions, sophomore RB with many DI offers including Georgia and Texas.
All three D linemen with offers, and super talented sophomore linebackers over 6ft and 200 pounds , 3 O linemen coming back, 2 wide receivers and a very special sophomore full back.
The Dawgs will be right back in the hunt in 2024.I hope by the Grace of God Carthage goes Region 3. Gilmer brings back a ton too. Hopefully they don't put us in the same district.

Well this is an entertaining game. Go PNG

Carthage was not the juggernaut they have been. In reality they probably should have lost to PG. But luckily for us, we matched up way better with Carthage than we did PG.

I'm not going lie. The Silsbee game made me stand up and pay attention. Although, truly at that point, I thought it would be a Carthage/Bellville match up.

I will say this. We are not where I expected after the 1st night of the season when I watched Chapel Hill destroy us. The motto of this team this year is a word that I use every day at my work. I work for a Japanese company and I hear the word "Kaizen" every single day. That means "continuous improvement ". That is the battle cry of the Buckeyes and for this season it couldn't be more fitting. They have gotten better and more confident as the season has gone on. That is a testament to the players and coaching staff. They believe in themselves and now they have the whole town believing. We will all see how it turns out on Friday.

I would EXPECT you to to have confidence in your team. Just like we do ours. Jeesh

Not so fast there sparky lol
Is it not ok for Gilmer to be as confident of their team as Bellville is of theirs?

Carthage beat Gilmer the next week(round 4)
You are correct. Great game that we lost 31-28 launching Carthage to their 1st state championship. And we all know how that has progressed since then.

Sounds right, that’s probably the other year y’all beat us in what I remember the region final maybe?
No that was 2008 in Regional Final.
2009 playoff run was Jasper, LaVega, Navasota, Cuero and Abilene Wylie. Good memories right there!!!

I’m curious what people think about this one… polar opposite offensive styles… a lot of speed on that Gilmer offense. Figured on this message board I could get some less bias opinion and outlooks than on Smoaky… my brain hurts trying to have reasonable football discussions on that board.
It's impossible to have a conversation over there!!!

You sure about that?2014 y’all beat us(WOS)..pretty sure we have always been region 3
I'm sorry. It was our 2009 team that was in region 3. I stand corrected. That was when we played Cuero in the semis

Not taking anything away from Gilmer but I feel like they weren’t that good…idk I feel like they were playing with house money at this point in the season if you get what I’m saying. I just feel like Gilmer was just a good bit better than them
We are 7-1 all time against region 1 teams (darn Sweetwater) and 8-1 all time in semi final games. 2014 we were in region 3 and had to beat Cuero in the semis. Generally if we can get out of our region we advance to the big game. Now winning the big game is a whole lot different. We are 3-5 in championship games.

The game probably comes down to defense as crazy as that sounds. We are gonna need to force a couple punts and maybe get a couple T/O's. In my ming the Buckeyes need to get out quickly like we did against Glen Rose. The game got so far out of hand that we had it on cruise control the last 2.5 quarters. That won't happen again Friday.

Time of possession will be the key for Bellville.
They will definitely win time of possession. I can guarantee that.

I have to agree with you. I know it was home cooking as broadcasters. So you have take that into consideration. Gilmer was on the verge of losing when the fumble happens. So masterful? I think not. The master(s) was on the other side of the field.
Sure was........and he lost
