  1.

    1.  I think and hope we keep him for a while.  I think the job in Crosby has turned in to a very good job.  Lots of talent that does not look to be drying up any time soon.  Very supportive community and administration.  New stadium.  New High School with new field house, weight room and practice fields.  One high school town is advantageous too.  Living in rural Crosby, but being only 30 minutes out of Houston makes Crosby a pretty nice place to live too.

    2.  If he does leave, Crosby is on the map and should be able to solicit applications from some of the best up and coming coaches in the state.

  2. I just keep reverting to last year and the 5 regular season games decided by a TD or less. Then we won rounds 1-3 by a combined 57 points. Probably should've beaten Hutto by another TD also. This team is a ahead of where they were at this point last year.

I figured our title hopes were slim to none after Grace got hurt because it took Crosby's between the tackle threat away. I think Tre Edwards getting over 160 yards on 22 carries in his first start brings that threat back. It takes away from the receiving core but maybe he can used like Jordan Meyers is at Dickinson going forward?

I know one thing to be certain though. If the defense is going to play like that, Crosby will be more than fine.

"Three things can happen when you throw the football. Two of them are bad." The Trey Edwards find was a relief. Companied with Cotton averaging 5-7 yards a pop and our running game is back in business. I would like to see Craig "ice up" until the playoffs. Having him 100% going into the playoffs will be important.

  3. From what I saw the true game changer wasn't the kickoff ran back by Crosby. The real game changer was when the score was tied at 20 and Dayton recovered the Crosby fumble. Driving with the ball deep in their own territory, Hancock gets his bell rung and the referee sent him off the field for at least one play. He was definetly dazed from the hit. Coach Hancock puts in Shaq Jones at QB and Dayton gets about 5 yards on a run. Instead of leaving Shaq at QB, he puts his son back in and he promptly throws an interception. The kid's bell was rung! Why put him right back in so quickly and then throw the ball? Dayton was running the ball well enough to win the game...especially to the edges. Terrible call. Crosby has a good defense but I wasn't impressed with their offense. QB was pretty slow. I think Dayton was the faster of the two teams.

    easy

  4. He's close, but my personal opinion is he wouldn't go there.  You think the heat is on the guy there now, my guy wouldn't have but one chance.  Not enough horses in the stable there and that one game means so much.  Losing it 6 times in a row is no Bueno.  I guess it's my purple glasses though, but I still think PNG could possibly go a few rounds this year if everyone is healthy.

I agree, I was curious to see what he would do when his two running backs went down. He got pretty creative and managed to maintain the same ppg. Overcoming adversity one of the signs he's ready for the promotion.

  5. This game will not be close. To the untrained eye and on paper you would think it will be close. I've been to every Crosby game and the ball is being spread around equally to all the receivers and running backs because nobody has really been a threat and to prevent injuries. If you force Crosby's hand you will get a heavy dose of Crosby's top guns. Crosby starters will not play the 4th quarter. With that said I like the anticipation.

  6. Congrats to Nathan White on his FCS offer from University of South Dakota. That makes 5 players with FCS/FBS offer in the 2016 class for Crosby. I'll include Alec Lewis and say there's 5 more FCS/FBS kids in the 2017 class and below. Pretty cool for almost half of your starters to be D1 caliber players.

What I've come to realize is that having a bunch of highly touted players helps, what helps even more is the quality of your D2/JUCO level players though.

Yeah, him and Perry are close to picking up their 4th star to go with Williams 5 stars. Mannie should hit the 20 offer mark during Spring evaluations.

I'm not familiar with the recruiting process, but it seems like D1 schools should be salivating over Pickney. Nice size speed and ball skills. Nathan White should have a lot more offers also. He's like the Crosby JJ WATT.

  7. Ok if were finished with the crap talk to each other . lets discuss football,    Crosby is not over rated, the only thing that will hurt Crosby is Crosby ( too many penalties), and injuries.   That was the most athletic team I have seen in years, even without their RBs.   Do see room for improvement on play calling and execution of plays, athletic ability is there.   Every team has room to improve.  There were some questionable calls, but BH had a couple as well, just excuses,. last week how many did Crosby have?  When they play a tough team they cannot have penalties,   I was impressed, the kids are huge and fast and can play, again like all teams I see room for improvement, but not over rated. , BH played hard 1st half, threw the ball a little, moved the ball well 1st half, 2nd half had 6 turnovers, kept Defenses back against the wall.  Defense is pretty young but played better as game went on, was impressed by their play as well in the 2nd half, even if Crosby pulled starters, they have depth and BHs defense I thought showed some promise for the next couple of years, need to teach kids how to play the secondary vs the pass, cannot wait until the ball is caught to react,   Offense hit a wall in 2nd half, so predictable, nothing to fall back on when trailing, plus fumbles and ints, did show me that they may have played over their heads in first half.   Crosby is fun to watch, the line was massive,by looking at the roster, they have 8-10 kids that could be going to the next level, not all D1 but a few were and both D1 RBs not playing,   BH is not a real athletic team, they are over all small , I think we do not have a solid strength program, they run a ton, but lifting and lifting the correct way makes a huge difference,   I think BH will battle for 3rd and 4th the next couple of seasons,    Bottom line is 6 turnovers will not get it done vs anyone you play,  BH did what I thought they would do, came out with heart and hung around with the #2 team in the state, they hung with them, never did i see them  as a threat, again thought the future looks decent.   Good luck to Crosby on a long playoff run, stay healthy and always look for ways to improve,   BH keep your heads up, played a dang good team, you showed toughness and heart and with hard work the future looks to be a very competitive one.

Crosby's Achilles heel is the triple option. Thought they would have figured it out after Cedar Park. That game would have looked like Cedar Park if Barbers Hill had the athletes. Defense is very aggressive. Stay at home until the play develop and find the football.

  8. Cotton was dropping dimes tonight, there shouldn't be any argument after that type of performance. Numbers would have been a lot better had we caught more of those dimes. Yes Mannie can fly, he's also borderline unguardable at receiver where he'll play at the next level though. We have a bunch of good football players, our depth is why Crosby is where they are now. The staff knows what they're doing, don't get caught up in how fast our kids can run or how high they jump.

I agree Cotton did look improved. And he had a great game. it's the consistency that bothers me. I would like to also see Netherly be more aggressive when the ball is in the air. had a lot of drops that were dimes from multiple players. Gameplan has to change now. Let's see how we adjust.

  9. It's going to be interesting to see if the all stay on the o-line. I figured Murphy would play left tackle, Robert Oliver would play right tackle and Bridgeman would still be the center. I was just wondering about the guard spots? No. 70 is Steven Campbell I believe, I think he transferred from Manvel and is listed at 6-6/320lbs. Not sure where he came from but he had on a Hoka Hey shirt? Coach Mann tweeted that he and Murphy would be the left side of the line but IDK if things have changed since Spring? Either way, three 300 pounders to go with Bridgeman at about 280 will be very tough to deal with.

I was under the impression that Oliver's little brother would play on the defensive line? I was thinking the only open spot on the o-line would be the right guard spot but I heard both Tank and Micah are beast, they just didn't get much run last year because of how good our line was.

II fully expect Grace and Williams to combine for about 3k yards if they both stay healthy.

3 offensive lineman over 300 pounds? I have been in high school for a long time, but is this the norm now? Do we have same amount of beef on D-Line?
