Our offensive line is young which has had its effects on our passing and running game. Carlos has most of his success between the tackles and Craig is good at getting to the outside. Which helps the O Line. That's why we would be better with him on the field. After Carlos had his long run in the 4th quarter he was dead tired with his hands on his knees but had to stay in the game. Being 3rd in the district in rushing is unlike Crosby.

Maxpreps has us at 25 passing 23 rushing

Last year we had 3000 yards rushing. Crosby is best when we have multiple backs. I just want everyone healthy going into the playoffs. And Craig if Craig wasn't a 1000 yard rusher last year he was pretty close. Right now we are about 3rd in the district in rushing which is unlike Crosby.

In 14 we had 3 backs with almost 1000 yards. Craig is averaging 10 yards a carry behind that O Line and Trey Edwards didn't play last year in the playoffs and Carlos was hurt 2nd game of the season.

I agree we need to get healthier to make a run at a State title, but we have a viable back-up at every skill position on the offensive side of the ball. We just need some continuity, which is hard to maintain through injuries.

We're playing for the district championship like everybody thought we would at the beginning of the year and if Cedar Park goes D1 we'll be the favorite to play College Station in the regional final like everybody though we would. Right now it's about making a statement in New Caney and riding that momentum for the next three games to set up the showdown with either CP in the third round or College Station in the 4th. Maybe we see all the pieces coalesce tonight and come back to Northeast Harris County with a different outlook moving forward?
What makes this team different from last year and similar to 2014 is that every game someone different is stepping up and making plays to win games. As a whole the receiving core is the best it's been in recent years. Running game is coming along and will be better when Sqwirl is back, and the defense is great against the run. Our downfall this year is we have had a tendency to play at the level of our opponent at times. Don't think that will happen in the playoffs.

Just looking at some interesting stats. Crosby has over 2,000 combined passing yards between Netherly and Howard in spite of the "qb issues". We have 7 receivers that average 14 yards per catch or more. The last 6 games Carlos Grace has hit his stride rushing for 803 yards and averaging right at 134 yards per game. I'm thinking if Crosby gets anything in the qb run game this is probably a track meet in Code Red's favor.
We've been plagued by injury since the beginning of last year. I hate it that the vision everyone had for this class in 2014 has come up short due to injury. If we had everyone healthy we would be heavily favored for a State Championship.

I agree this is wrong. Although I would like to see the Sophmore play but it's solely due to the injury and I hate to see Mannie limp all over the field. But, in all actuality Crosby offense has avg. 47 points the last 4 games. Mannie has thrown 11 TDs and ran for 3 more during that span. Crosby averages 450 yards a game while New Caney averages 429 and I would give the defensive edge to Crosby. I seen some good things from our secondary against Humble. With Sqwirl coming back healthy this week and Carlos hitting his stride at the right time, I'm going with Crosby in this one reguardless of who's under center. Although New Caney has a fairly balanced attack they favor the run and Crosby has done pretty well against the run this year.

There's a difference in playing through pain and playing through injury. This kid is injured and should have been pulled weeks ago. We've watched his health decline by the week. Put the youngster in.

I know all about our team. You said we only played 1 of them not me. As far as #15 he was injured last game so I'm guessing they are working him back into the offense.

I just had to come on here and fire you up a little bit because you felt so strongly about Dayton a few weeks ago before the 3 game slide. They rose to the challenge last night though and almost pulled out a victory. This Crosby team has just as much potential for a state run as any ,and I like the story plot that I've seen so far. In 2014 we went into the playoffs with 2 Ls also and lost to a 3 loss Cedar Park. Just take it 1 game at a time.

"IF" he catches the interception he still has to outrun him. Which I doubt will happen. But, Dayton showed up to play. Didn't expect for it to be that close. We are very banged up.

No it was an ACL tear. He didn't come back last year. It's a sad case. If he never got hurt we would be in for a treat this year.
