I miss these times. When I was at Crosby we opened up the season at midnight. I had butterflies in my stomache all day. I hope those boys are hydrating today. The hunt starts tomorrow.

Happy for this kid. Well deserved!! Proud to say he's from Crosby.
Carlos Grace should be ranked! I'm guessing it's because he doesn't have the clock speed, but this kid has intangibles.

Congrats to 2018 RB Craig Williams. Was just ranked the #3 overall prospect in the state, #3 overall APB in the country, #28 overall prospect in the country. Williams becomes Crosby's first 5 star prospect on record:
Good luck trying to stop him and Grace from eating behind what may be the best 5A offensive line in Texas.

Coach Rio will make the best decision for winning games. Since you asked though, I would keep Cotton at QB. He led the team to the state finals his first year starting at the varsity level. Leave Netherly at receiver to do his thing. That is where he will most likely get recruited for anyways.
Cotton is a great athlete and makes plays with his feet. But he scares me when he has to put the ball in the air. Riordan isn't exempt from critics. Even the great Bill Belichick has been questioned about personnel moves, but only thing that quiets critics is to just win baby win and that's what Crosby did last year. I've been ready to talk Crosby football since I left Austin. This will be an exciting year.

Just curious. If you've never seen Harrison play, how could you state in another post that Netherly should be playing QB over Cotton ?
If you read my original post, I was stating to not close the door on talent moving into the district. That's ludacris to me to turn around a legitimate QB that could stretch the field. What if you could keep Netherly at receiver his senior year and air it out. Your talking like we have a QB that's just lighting it up. From the eye test of the games I seen Netherly at QB it seems to me that he's more talented. I missed games last year because of work, but I won't miss any this year. Sorry I missed Harrison. What's your opinion Cougforever?

I'm pretty excited about this year. Crosby has equal talent in past years. The only difference is we have never been able to get coaches of this caliber to come to Crosby. The way they motivate those kids is like no other.

Majority of the secondary returns. Two starting linebackers return. One returning defensive lineman who is a beast. One transfer defensive lineman from CE King. Several others moved up from freshman and JV. Should be ok
The Harrison kid at linebacker, I hear he's a stud. Never seen him play. Do you know anything about him?

Does anyone know how strong Crosby's defense is going to be this year? I know we lost big man in the middle. I think the secondary will be strong, but what about the front 7 or 6?

Did you see the Cedar Park game? Cotton was 19-24 with a pick and a td. I believe we were tied at 21 when he got hurt. Netherly came in and went 1-4 with 3 picks and negative 5 rushing yards while CP scored 28 straight. I've been watching him play for 4 years now. Having the measurables is one thing, standing in the pocket and delivering the ball is completely another thing.
Riordan has already coached 39 games his first 3 years as a head coach. I trust that he and the staff put the kid out there that gives them the best option to win. If you keep fine tuning you eventually run out of stroke. I'm sure Netherly will have his shot under center during the '16 season but for now Cotton gives Crosby the best option to win a state title, plus Mannie already has 7 FBS offers at receiver and looks to be in line for his 4 star at that position.
Coach Riordan and the OC has done a tremendous job in Crosby. Best combo in the state in my opinion, but i might be biased. Yes I did see the Cedar Park game. If I recall correctly Cotton scored 14 straight for Cedar Park. One fumble for a touchdown and an interception for a touchdown. What I observed at that time was a degenerated football team. Bad coaching calls and bad execution by all of the players. Thats trash can stats. When bad players look good and good players look bad. I also seen a poor game from Cotton against Calhoun where Netherly came in and closed out the game. Cotton is a great athlete, but a subpar QB. Cotton benefitted from a great O-Line best RB core in the state and a great defense. You could have plugged anyone in and called them a QB. It doesn't really matter if you stand strong in the pocket if your throwing ducks. Standing strong in the pocket and decision making aren't intangibles, therefore it can be taught and learned. We don't need Cotton to stand in the pocket. We need him to get rid of the ball, because with the speed of our receivers they are out of his reach in 3 to 4 seconds. Closing the door on a legit QB coming to town means Cotton will be paying his own college tuition.

If he doesn't want to sit on the bench until his eligibility expires I suggest he doesn't come here. Cotton and Netherly have that position locked up for the next two years.
I think Crosby should keep an open mind at the Quarterback position, as this is the weakest link on the offense. Also, Cotton maybe able to earn a scholarship if he had some film as a slot receiver. With some fine tuning Netherly is a better option at QB.

After reviewing the film of Cedar Park, they don't look as impressive as I continue to hear. They actually play into the strengths of Crosby's front 7. The 500 yards that Hutto had was "garbage" yards. Also I can't understand how such a dominate team has 3 losses in the regular season. I don't think Cedar Park has seen the speed, physicality, nor the mistake free football the Crosby will bring Friday night. Bring ya "A Game" CP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree Netherly is a better option. I think Cotton was 2/7 passing and 2 ints. Netherly was 3/4 and a TD. Not to mention Netherly is one of the fastest players in the district.
