Goblin got a reaction from ladybug33 in West Orange-Stark at Port Neches-Groves Scrimmage/Post comments here!
Scrimmages mean nothing. Maybe WOS didn't seem to be as dominant but they still did pretty well (beat) against the predicted local 5A district favorite which has more than twice the enrollment. Only time will tell. Best of luck to the Indians. I hardly think the word garbage should be used.

WOS is the usual football team. They are always prepared to play hats off to them they are the very best to play to get ready to start the season

Goblin reacted to Hagar in Left & Right Clash in Virginia
I'm reminded of a story: In English class at Lamar (which, as you can tell, I struggled in lol) and a guy ask the Prof to write a sentence on the board. He said - "There are three tu's (to, too, two) in the English language". Prof was stumped on how to write it. I've got the two down pretty good, but the to, and too, I've never been able to (too) grasp.
PS; the "tu's" was one suggestion, but kudos to (too) her for teaching us how to (too) write a theme. In HS, all we did were book reports.

If what's going on in Charlottesville is the "right," I'm mighty proud to be on the "left."
In related news, our fearless leader's comments, when he finally surfaced, were unsurprisingly disappointing. On the other hand, thought Gov. McAuliffe was incredible.

I'm sorry but are you seriously defending right-out racist Nazis? You've got to be kidding me. There is no "white oppression" and there was never any white slavery. You're comparing apples and oranges.

Goblin reacted to WOSgrad in Most dangerous offensive backfield
WO-S was, on average, 18% smaller in ADM than the teams on their schedule and are not even the biggest team in their district. In fact, they were smaller than 10 of their 16 opponents.
How many opponents did Memorial play that were bigger than them? By the way, I know the answer. So you may not want to rely too much on your "big fish" propaganda.
You use laughable arguments such a "PN-G ain't used to having a black kid." And while he may be something that is a bit of a novelty in Port Neches, he is not in places like Houston, Austin, Waco, Dallas, Fort Worth or College Station. Nor is it unusual in places like Gainesville or Tallahassee, Florida, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Columbus, Ohio, Eugene, Oregon or College Park, Pennsylvania. So you're attempts to pump your own team by tearing down others looks so silly. You had talked about getting banned. It won't, but it will get you hammered because the arguments you forward are completely devoid of facts and quite frankly, common sense.
And the shame of it is that such attempts are totally unnecessary. I think most have or would have posted here would agree that Memorial does have the most explosive backfield (I know I do).
But, hey, as an administrator on the board, it is great. Keep the insults coming, it will just give folks a reason to come on and post and hammer you.

Neither Mauriceville nor Groves had active football programs so in my opinion Little Cypress and LC-M are the same entity just as are Port Neches and PN-G.
Otherwise we'd have to make a distinction between those two pesky state titles by Port Neches in the 1950s and the one by PN-G in 1975.

Goblin got a reaction from NewtonNation in Area 3A Football Histories
I finally got around to reformatting and updating my old files so that they can be opened in 2016 software (I was literally using software from 2001 before this). I've also formatted the old GIFs to Excel such that they can be opened as spreadsheets, downloaded and printed which people have been begging for for years. I'm still updating some histories up to date from 2009 when I was last active and am making some brand new ones from scratch as I have a ton more data than I used to. If you see any definite errors please let me know and i'll look into it i've put my own marks about questionable scores in the far right column.
MORE TO COME! Just wanted to put what I have out now currently...

Goblin got a reaction from NewtonNation in Best Program in SETX? (Golden T)
It's a rather unfair question to begin with. Yes, NO team closer than Harris or Galveston county can claim a winning record against WOS. WOS has 384 wins since opening in 1977. Nederland hit win 384 in 1997 after having played since 1925. I think PNG hit win 384 in 1987.
But over the eras there were always dominant teams dating back to the start of the UIL in 1909.
TJ and Beaumont High were superpowers in the 1920's through the 1950's with TJ winning state titles in 1929 and 1944 when only ONE champion was proclaimed in the state.
Port Neches had several peaks with two state titles in the early 1950's and another spectacular four year run in the 1970's with a title in 1975. After PNG's run in the early '50s Nederland came along and won a title in 1957. In fact both Nederland and TJ hosted the state title games at home on the same day that year just miles apart with Nederland beating Sweetwater and TJ losing to Highland Park.
Bridge City won a title in the mid 1960s and then in the '80s we had TJ in the title game again in 1980, West Brook winning in 1982 and French co-champs with Permian in 1984.
in the lower classifications Hull-Daisetta actually held the NATIONAL winning streak record for almost 20 years not losing a game from 1935-1939 before they were surpassed by Abilene. H-D finally got a state title in 1979.
Newton has won 3 and don't forget about Burkeville. Barbers Hill also won 2 when they were tiny back in the 1970s.
This is just mentioning programs with hardware but with the relative population we're talking about down here compared to DFW, San Antonio and any area within 200 miles of the Rio Grande we've done pretty well consistently for over a century as a community and I take pride in that.

The post said best Programs all time in SETX. I didnt see 2006, or last 15 years are Crosby this, or 3 rounds that. If you are going to rank them. Rank them from day 1. Its a no brainer. Who has the most hardware. Its WOS. Period.
No one cares about anything but hardware................ Just ask Dan Marino..................

WO-S currently has the highest winning percentage of any team in the state (much less just SETX) at 80.48% and by a large margin. We've played 479 games. Even if we went 1-20 to hit the 500 game mark we would STILL be top in the state on the list below.

Goblin reacted to WOSgrad in Winning state titles comes with the price of scheduling conflicts
Nope, truthful. Lee and WO-S met one time, a 1979 bi-district game that Lee won 12-7 (after WO-S' first ever district championship) and they come in just a few miles east of King.
