Early on all the pundits stated Region III D2 would be the deepest and toughest in the state.  You never know.  Even now it's looking like Region I is just Celina and nothing else.  They won't be tested until the Semis.  They already beat their Quarterfinal opponent 69-15 three weeks ago.  Gilmer has been tested but then is it that the region is stronger or that Gilmer is not what they were last year?  Region IV is just a mess with a 5 loss Cuero beating undefeated Navarro.  Cuero lost to Wharton way worse than they lost to Sinton by the way.  On paper everything points to WO-S just being really really good but you can't go on that as much as you'd like to.  That's when bad things happen.

Someone's gonna have to talk me into a reason why the same thing that happened the last two weeks won't happen again this coming week after how the Mustangs have been dominating.  Bellville let Wharton and Caldwell both hang 4 TDs on them.

Giddings QB is out with a foot fracture.  

Even the staunch Gilmer fans are questioning their chances at this point after barely beating Bullard and now Pleasant Grove.  Mexia and Center are both really good teams they have to get past to even make it out of their region.

If we play like we usually do we should win by 2 TDs minimum.  What scares me is that we've had it easy the last six weeks.  Wharton will be by far the best team we've faced since Foster.  Some ratings have them #7 in the State.  This week will be tougher than next week if we make it through IMO.

Should be interesting to see how CE King does against Richmond Foster next week.  The new ratings I'm seeing have Foster ahead of Crosby.  Gratz PNG and NED!

Since Silsbee in 1998.  I was waiting for that Mike ;p.  That's not recent.  Prolly the only team to ever beat WOS and Carthage in the same year.

Ik its not Tuesdays but I have the Scouting Report after watching Film (Hudl) on Wharton. 
Offense. Wharton spreads you out. and capable of making big plays with there athletic WR Core. They have speed and athletes as well. Wos team speed is faster IMO. Wharton passing attack is alot of timing routes. This game will be won in the trenches, and Wharton Online is suspect.  IMO I think WOS d-line will cause havoc and beat Wharton too the point of attack and WOS Secondary gonna have to keep tight coverage on Wharton WR and disrupt there timing. Wharton WR don't do a great job of running routes nor blocking on run plays. Wharton have 2 good running backs but #2 is the better one. He does a great job of finding holes and fighting for extra years. But ik Wharton haven't seen a defense like the Chain Gang. That does a great job of tackling and flying to the football.
Defense. Wharton D-line is big but don't do a good job of winning at the point of attack. Wharton best asset is there MLB #30. He does a great job of reading his keys but he take plays off. WOS gonna have to keep a body on him. Wharton does a great job at pursuiting the football but they don't do a great job tackleing well as a team. Wharton likes to play a lot of man coverage. I just don't see them being able to man up the PYP Crew of WOS. They gonna have to Pick There Posion..... Lol .... Also Wharton punter doesn't do a good job of punting the football. So its a must WOS make them go 3 and out.  If WOS wins all or 2 phases of the game I see WOS winning by 21+. Imo as a whole Wharton is not a discipline team.

The spread was 84.  Given that we were up 33-0 after one quarter we easily could have but we don't do that.  We kicked 2 field goals on first downs and pulled the QB after the 1st quarter.
