I miss the days when upon hearing an insult, we'd fire back with one of our own.  Now-a-days we just get all indignant and complain about "bullying" or "privilege" or whatever else excuse that losers can come up with.  There's a big difference between some good ol' fashion "jawing" and outright abuse.  Nothing in this thread has come close to that in my opinion.

I think now that his son has graduated already, he needs to get off this site. Dude , Cardinal backer, enough already. Ok.... If I can't criticize a team, coach, ref, player, play, penalty, past experiences, towns, etc.... What about the weather?  Is it okay to bash the weather?

Was the jasper series an upset? I thought jasper was suppose to be pretty good.

I hope whatever happens Nederland can either work out something more suitable to everyone or be as transparent as deserved by the community so everyone can be as comfortable as it is possible to be. This does not need to split the community. I hope it serves to strengthen it somehow.

I kinda hope that IF it fails, they come back with a more reasonable proposal.

Typically people don’t go stand in long lines to pay higher taxes. But they absolutely will stand in line if it means their taxes will remain low. 
Just an observation. 

There was a sign on the cooler at the BC Dollar General a while back that said that the store wouldn't accept EBT payments for energy drinks.  The clerk said that she'd taken several good cussings over it.  
It gets on my nerves that we could go to any grocery store and determine which people were paying with food stamps and which were paying with their own actual money based solely on the contents of their buggies. They need to go back to passing out eggs, butter, and cheese, if you want my opinion.
 

No punishment could have made up for what King did to Byrd.  And to all the good people of Jasper, which is most everyone there.  Easily overlooked is the fact that unlike many cases in the deep South, the three miscreants were all in jail within 24 hours, and tried and sentenced within a year or so.  No cover up here!  The people of Jasper were handed a job to do; and they did the right thing.  Glad this chapter is finally over.

I can answer for him. They came in under budget by about 1mil. 

Why does everybody assume that BC is trying to avoid Sweeny?  Does BC not even have a chance against them? I mean, if you look at their district they are the only team that's over .500 in total records this year.  I'm not saying that Sweeny isn't good but BC is also good.  I'm hoping for some good playoffs baseball.

Maybe the timing wasn't right the previous time(s) that smaller bonds were defeated.  
For the sake of argument.... I need groceries at the house.  Everybody agrees that something needs to be done.  I'm not wrong for thinking a $450 trip to HEB is a little out of line.... and not because I don't support feeding my kids.  Maybe we need to just grab up what we need to tide us over until payday, but purchase a side of beef, the Thanksgiving Turkey, and the ingredients for Christmas Cookies on 4/24/19.  
They're just opinions... mine doesn't matter.  It's just a lot of money, and IMO it's overpriced. It'll be interesting to see how the voters feel.
