To clarify, my kid is a weld inspector and they’ve been on a project down there. The customer had crews on site day and nite. The shakeup is that they are going to go to straight call outs with no crews on site. Instead of working 12s (night) 13 on, 1 off, he’d just be on call during the time he’d normally be on shift. But the $145/day perdiem is history. That and the loss of guaranteed shifts has him (and a lot of other guys) pulling out. The customer just decided to cut costs in all directions. He’ll be fine, though. He can work for the same outfit or a competitor down here and it’ll be okay. He’s just trying to stack cash together because he’s registered to start at LIT in the fall. Not process operations, btw. There will still be really good jobs at the plants, just not as many as we’re used to.

He’ll be fine... but thank you.

All kidding aside, my kid just texted me... He's been working down in Port Lavaca (weld inspector) and the customer just cut them way back. Perdiem ends on 2/1/21. He's headed home. Welcome to Biden's America.

S&P 500 Hits All-Time High On Biden Inauguration Day

As the Final Arbiter for this wager, I have to admit that I have no idea what y'all are betting on. -
I don't know who neglected your reading comprehension skills, but I've shamefully admitted that I voted for trump twice. Unfortunately, more people were unwilling to put up with any more of Trump's childish nonsense.
-
Because he wouldn't try to unconstitutionally overturn the election?
-
Solyndra? Yup. I don't remember reading where we had to subsidize the combustion engine industry to get it off of the ground. If it's worth a flip and will make a buck, some enterprising American will be all over it.

Mike Pence? Pray tell. How was Mike Pence mean and nasty?
-
Here is how you would have answered those two questions. Would Keystone be halted if Trump was the President? NO. Why wasn't Trump re-elected? Because if you don't like trump you're a snowflake.
-
Of course he got 80 million votes. And i'm guessing that 70 million + of those votes were from people that didn't like Biden... they hated Trump. Why do you suppose Biden won the Democratic primary? Because people are sick of mean and nasty, and Biden was the least mean and nasty of the bunch over there. So why do you suppose Trump got beat by Biden, too? Because Trump was unnecessarily mean and nasty, and that's not what people want. It's so obvious if Trump hasn't banged your head off of your headboard one too many times.

Would Keystone be halted if Trump was the President? NO. Why wasn't Trump re-elected? Because he's a jerk. See? Trump's fault.
-
I don't have to defend it. It speaks for itself. But it never would have happened if Trump knew how to act. I'm still fairly certain that the first debate probably cost him the election.

Son, that wasn't giggling, I was breathing deeply and typing with one hand.

Hmmmmm.... "We're not going to raise taxes on people making less than $400,000 per year." That took what? One day?

Can anybody point me to an instance where that certain group was in charge and things ended well? I'd really feel better about things if somebody could send me a success story or two. No lie. Drive around PAT.... that's gonna be Beaumont in my lifetime (and I'm in my late 40s now).

It's not just Trump's fault. It's also the fault of his followers (like all of y'all) who were all too willing to overlook his behavior because it benefitted your 401k. I don't just dislike LSU, I really dislike their fans a lot, too. Trump supporters (with their stupid red hats and flags) did a lot to alienate moderate or undecideds NOT to vote for Trump. It's kinda like I don't hate Jeep Wranglers, but I don't want people to think I'm one of those weirdos that's going to put on big tires, lights, stickers, and come up with a stupid name for my jeep. Therefore I won't buy a jeep so I'm not considered a weirdo, too. Decent people don't want to be lumped in with all of y'all. I know that you were required to lower your Trump flag to half mast after the election. When will you be able to throw the thing away?

Imagine Trump as a relief pitcher sent out to the 9th inning of a home game. His team is holding a 2 run lead and Trump strikes out the first two batters. Then he gives up 6 runs to allow the other team to take a 4 run lead. Now the home team is down by 4 in the bottom of the ninth, and Trump's fans are all yelling "BUT HAVE YOU SEEN TRUMP'S FASTBALL?!!!!!!" That's a pretty good analogy of where we are today.

Don't forget to thank Trump for making this all happen. We had both chambers of Congress and the Presidency before ol' Rude and Crude messed it all up.

No, sir... The bulk of the theft/fraud occurred during the bond issue which Dr. Thomas oversaw.

I think what sold me more than anything was that the republicans in those swing states were also saying...."there's no evidence." Even the US AG Barr said the same thing. The unfortunate thing is that some people still believe it despite the total lack of evidence. That's going to be a problem going forward. People believing that Trump actually won and the race was stolen are just as ignorant as the ones who say that Trump is a racist without proof.

Trump would still be president if he knew how to act. But instead of holding Trump to task whenever he insulted, ridiculed, threatened, etc... his loyalists would say "but look at the economy." Newsflash. There's more to life than the economy. A lot of people don't care... but they DO care about voting for someone who insults their gender, race, culture, etc.... And they won't vote for that person. I think the fact that "good Christian" people would refuse to condemn Trump's behavior was a huge turnoff to a lot of people. People didn't vote for Biden.... they voted against Trump. That's a complete fact. If Trump was so repugnant with his behavior that he DROVE a majority of Americans to vote against him, that's saying something bad about him... not about the people who refused to support him. Honesty, conservatives don't get to talk about Antifa or BLM after exhibiting the same exact behavior (or worse) at the Capitol on 1/6.
