Woke Restaurant Should be Going Out Of Business Shortly!
CardinalBacker replied to Reagan's topic in Political Forum
That's the comical part... if you polled wait staff and asked if they'd rather make $2.13 plus tips (guaranteed minimum wage if tips are inadequate) or $15/hour, they'd all say "TIPS!!!!" at once. -
Woke Restaurant Should be Going Out Of Business Shortly!
CardinalBacker replied to Reagan's topic in Political Forum
We were at the Longhorn in Beaumont a couple of weeks ago.. my boss, a client, and myself. Our server was a young black man and he gave excellent service and a fantastic attitude/personality. My boss leaned over and said "take care of him" regarding the tip...too late, I was already on it. I think that a lot of people would be amazed at how excited "racists" like myself get genuinely fired up by seeing young black kids busting it. I WANT them to succeed. I hope somebody comes by and recognizes that kid's attributes and advises him to turn in a resume at their company. -
I've known a lot of LEOs who relied on "professional courtesy" while continuously doing what this guy did the other day. My guess is that it's probably not the first time that he did it, it's the first time he got caught... and likely not even the first time he got caught, but the first time he was arrested. I always think about that DPS officer that arrested Beck from Beaumont PD in Jasper a few years back. [Hidden Content] The amazing thing was that the arresting officer probably lost his career, not Beck... Poor bastid is probably still working traffic at night in Terlingua.

That’s a question that the left can’t refute, other than to say “our voters are incapable of getting an ID and bringing it with them to the polls.” Then the right turns around and throws in a provision that is squarely aimed at curbing a traditional get-out-the-vote effort for minorities. I was recently surprised to hear of an elected voter registrar in another part of the state that privately voiced support for making it harder for low-information voters to cast their vote. I’m pretty sure that I know who they were talking about.

USPS Mail Carrier Caught Tossing Mail Instead Of Delivering
CardinalBacker replied to BMTSoulja1's topic in Local Headlines
Bridge City's mail service was moved to Orange and then it got horrible. We'd go 7-10 days with zero mail in our whole subdivision... then one day you'd see three mail vans covering the neighborhood. It was just our carrier. She'd get behind and then take off of work until her coworkers caught her route back up. You could forget about getting a package or certified mail delivered. She'd just chunk an orange card and be on her way. Supposedly our US rep's office had a file on that particular carrier. I've always had the opinion that it's what happens when you stop trying to hire the best person for the job and start hiring/promoting based on all kinds of "qualifications" that have nothing to do with a person's ability to stuff mail in a mailbox, then remove all accountability because of union/civil service protections. -
Literally.... you disagreed with President Obama on healthcare...you're a racist. If you think our borders should be secured, you're a racist. It's the hand grenade that the left throws at anybody who disagrees with leftist philosophies in any way.... More black people in jail for murder? Racism. Black people own less real estate? Racism. White people score higher on a test? Racism. The word has been hijacked by people who don't even have a clue what it means.
-
No offense, my man... Supremacy is a whole different animal. A good example of that is those guys with the nazi tattoos who believe that white people are God's chosen ones and call everybody else mud people. They're all about saving the white race and protecting Aryan bloodlines or whatever. Go look up the definition of racism... you'll be surprised, I promise you.

It's on both sides... people who want the freedom to count illegitimate votes call efforts to secure the voting process "voter suppression" and hide behind the good people who just want to make sure that everybody gets a chance to vote. On the other had you have people who have no problem with minorities being disenfranchised but claim their just "protecting the integrity of the voting process" and hiding behind the good people who just want to make sure that their vote counts. Somewhere in the middle you have most of who are reasonable and just want to see everybody get a chance to vote once.

[Hidden Content] There are lots of links, this one might not be the best. I didn't realize it was in there until Rep James White criticized it on facebook. And it's wrong. It was intentional and it was wrong.

No, sir... Racism defined: the belief that different races possess distinct characteristics, abilities, or qualities, especially so as to distinguish them as inferior or superior to one another. It's the "superior or inferior to one another" part that encapsulates everything. The problem is that we've all twisted the meaning of racism to fit whatever we want. We all think of a racist as a guy in a white hood with a Southern Accent that hates black people just because his family has for 100 years. While that definitely fits the definition of racism, racism is also believing that one race has the ability to use a word when another group should be punished for doing so. Racism isn't "I'm better than him because I'm white." It's more like "i just can't stand them because they all ........" when discussing a different race. Where I get in trouble is that I believe that we should all still celebrate our defining characteristics and even notice the characteristics typical of others as long as we keep in mind that those differences make us no better or worse than one another.

Right about the time that I think the message is getting across that "we" just want voter integrity (not to hamstring the minority vote) the Texas Rs slip in a provision that will curb the "pews-to-the-polls" events that have historically been legally successful in getting black voters to the polls. Thanks a lot, losers.... maybe you ARE just a bunch of racists blowing on your dog whistles.

Buddy, that’s the problem.. racism isn’t about the shade of skin and it never has been. It’s about believing that one group of people is superior to another because of reasons like work ethic and family values. It’s my old family members saying “that’s the problem with black people… every one of them will lie to your face” not about the amount of pigmentation in their skin. Skin color has never been the problem.
-
The thing about it is this… if he said “young people blah blah blah” it’s not a problem for me. When you say “young BLACK people blah blah blah” it’s just wrong. There are plenty of young people of all colors that feel as he describes, yet he’s only chastising the black ones. There are also plenty of industrious young black people who haven’t bought into the “victim” narrative and are working hard and making the most of every opportunity presented to them… yet they are lumped into his stereotype. What’s more disturbing is that in his profession he is sworn to care for us… and it sounds like he has a genuine dislike (if not a thinly disguised hatred) for a lot of people that he doesn’t know predominantly based on their skin color. Not to mention that he’s being rewarded with our tax dollars. It just rings wrong with me, and you know that I’m not an apologist on racial issues by any means. I don’t have a problem with him singling out bad politicians of any color, unless it’s because of their color… then it’s wrong. But I also feel the same way when politicians/pundits get away with demonizing white people as well. We should all be better.

... On Poor Whites Who Vote Trump [Trigger Warning]
CardinalBacker replied to InMAGAWeTrust's topic in Political Forum
I can't wait to see who gets sprung on us next time... from either party. I'm starting to think that we need to revamp our government to have the President serve a largely symbolic role like the monarchy in the UK. -

There's another, better way... move them overseas. See Michigan for examples. -
The bad news is that I don't think you understand what the current happenings are about either. The left is pandering to certain communities (LGBTQ, African Americans, etc...) in hopes of finding eternal favor. And there are plenty of white people who feel guilty about the fact that they have never had to experience the hardships of poor people/black people. And while it may win elections, the repercussions will be felt for generations. You have an entire group of people who falsely believe that generations worth of bad personal decisions can be excused by blaming "white privilege" and "systemic racism." How badly have we failed our kids if they believe that America is a racist country that has oppressed black people since 1619... when in fact, hundreds of thousands of white men gave their own lives to free the slaves over 150 years ago? But according to the left, even those who died trying to free the slaves were at their core, racist. Plain and simple. There is an epidemic of stupidity regarding race relations and I firmly believe that we are in a much worse spot today than we were 20 years ago, racially speaking. The sad thing is that it's not because of what people are experiencing, it's because of the garbage that we're filling kids' heads with.

He works for the county as a contractor... at least that's my understanding. His post came across as racist.... and you someone that displays that much apparent bias towards certain groups probably shouldn't be contracted to care for people that he apparently doesn't like. But that goes all ways.... mayors should profess to only give interviews to people of color, either.

Oh, I wonder how Mayor Johnson will fund his city once industry (and all of it's nuisances) is gone? -
Yeah.... turnouts are typically bad, then you have to figure that a runoff election for a single race will have practically no interest for the public. What can I do? Gripe and complain on a message board- that's about it.

Same... I went back to get certified and gave up nine hours shy.... My main reasons for wanting to be a teacher were June, July, and August. It's a part time gig. Lets go to year around schooling with only federal holidays and two weeks vacation and then I'll be willing to listen about how your FULL TIME JOB isn't paid as well as the other FULL TIME JOBS. It's not that hard. Everybody always says "you'd better enjoy yourself, kid.... It's no fun once you graduate and have to get a real job." And it's true, except teachers literally keep living that grade school existence. Grading papers? I had homework as a kid. Your life is literally a fantasy camp if you're a teacher.

There are literally cartels with armies in Mexico, and you believe that all we need to do is decriminalize weed and all those bad guys will give up their silver pointy toed boots, gold 1911s, and armor-clad SUVs and go to work at a taqueria. Most of the people that I know in jail for drugs now are in for forging prescriptions or dealing meth. And you might be right about your friends... but every inmate that is in the pen for moving major weight got started selling a little weed.
