But I'll add to this... I think the Supreme Court taking up the abortion issue again is a mistake. The precedent has always been not to re-visit the decisions of previous courts. If anybody knows of anything that differentiates this new case from Roe v Wade, I'd like to hear it. Besides the first reason, I also disagree because this will push the Dems into trying to "pack" the supreme court. We really don't need situations where the Supreme Court becomes politicized and takes up previous decisions that were reached by a court with a different make-up. The obvious solution is to add members to the court. We're at 6-3 right now.... adding 4 Justices makes it a 7-6 split the other way. Then the Rs will turn right back around and add a few the next time that they are in power to grind old axes. That alone is reason enough to leave it be. Also, abortion has been legal since 1973. 48 years! It has literally been legal longer than most Americans have been alive. Young people don't feel as strongly about it being "wrong" for a lot of reasons. If you really want to be the party of old guys trying to take away freedoms that these young people have had their whole lives, go right ahead.... you'll pay for it at the polls. The simple answer is to draft a constitutional amendment to make it illegal. Have it ratified by the states and it will truly be outlawed. Except the pro-lifers don't have the necessary votes.... so it should just be left alone.

Obviously there are different opinions, but you asked for mine... I don't have a problem with contraception at all. Plan B, condoms, the pill, the shot, sterilization. My problem comes when procedures to end the life of the unborn child occurs. It's like.... if only contraception were free. Wait.... it is. Thanks to Obamacare, any American can stroll in and get an RX whenever they wish with no copay. But then again, one party celebrates the passage of legislation that allows abortion up until birth. Celebrates! What about abortion up until the age of say, six? As long as that's what the mom wants, right? George Floyd had rap sheet and was committing a crime.... but the left doesn't blink an eye at slaughtering 800,000 innocents per year. Like I've said repeatedly. I'm personally opposed as I feel that abortion is immoral for me. It's been legal in the US since 1973, and I only became opposed to OTHERS choosing to get one when the Ds decided that I should help pay for it.

The whole argument is faulty. Somebody gets knocked up, and the only question is "who else is gonna deal with this?" Is it gonna be tax-payer funded abortionist? Will it fall to somebody else to adopt the poor kid? Those appear to be the only two options, when the obvious option has no intentions of fulfilling their obligations as a human freakin' being.

I'm more concerned that enough people won't get vaccinated and instead of controlling the spread, it'll just cause the virus to further mutate and eventually we're forced back into lockdowns. They've said all long that somewhere between 70-80% would need to be vaccinated for us to develop immunity. I'm very glad that the internet didn't exist when my parents were kids. Everybody would have slung half-truths, whole lies, and wild speculations around and we'd still be losing tons of kids to polio every year because nobody would have gotten the vaccination.

I'll agree with abortion under those limited reasons (rape, incest, life of the mother) if you'll agree that any other reasons should be illegal. Abortion Fans use those reasons to get a "foot in the door." They throw out the listed reasons while they actually believe that there should be no restrictions whatsoever. I personally feel that abortion is immoral, at least for me, anyways... but I really didn't have an opinion on legality. My opposition came when the D's made "abortion is a right regardless of a woman's ability to pay" a part of their platform. If I have no business in women's reproductive issues, then you don't need my tax dollars to fund them, either.

My first grandmother died young pre ‘92 without a will so my mom/uncle had to give their inherited interest to the family home back to my grandfather. He later remarried a couple of times and eventually died before his last wife. But they both had wills despite only owning a house worth <$75k when they passed. My mom and uncle inherited and the house was sold. On the other side my grandfather died first and his will left everything to my grandmother. My grandmother’s will left everything to my dad, aunt, and uncle. It also was probated and the only real property (a single family dwelling) was deeded to the aunt who already lived there caring for my grandmother. There actually were some other assets in that estate, but they didn’t pass all of the way down to me. Other than my grandfather’s Model 12 Winchester or a few of the other one’s tools, I haven’t inherited anything from anybody. The fact is that even though they didn’t have much, their business was handled. Even funnier? Every one of them grew up dirt floor poor! If you live in America and are born poor and die poor, you’re just bad with money. That’s a fact. You make bad decisions.

Here’s the problem. Disparity doesn’t prove discrimination. But that’s all anybody wants to talk about. One person can look at the statistics and recognize that black people kill more people than anybody else. Not per capita… black people make up 13% of the population, but commit over half of total murders annually. A rational person would expect there to be more black people serving time for murder, right? Wrong. Most blacks (and liberal whites) see the fact that more black people in prison for murder as proof that the criminal justice system is racist. Personal choices are almost exclusively the cause of individual outcomes… not imagined prejudices, ie “systemic racism.” You know, “we can’t point out specific examples, but the mere fact that you have more than me proves all of you are racist.” Unless your premise is that “the outcomes aren’t equal, so therefore the government should take from people that look like you and give to people that look like me and if you don’t agree, you’re a bigot.” Black people will never create any generational wealth transfer by way of passing down property if they live in subsidized housing. When you mention this is turns right back into “predatory lending practices” discussions and other ways to shift blame. Black people don’t do estate planning or bother to have their affairs handled upon their passing. That’s not being mean… that’s a fact of which you are certainly aware. But once again, the fact that all four of my grandparents had their estates handled after their passing and I doubt that many black people can say the same is somehow privilege on my part. It’s not… taking care of your business has nothing to do with race.

On the other hand, the poverty rate for naturalized blacks is 11.8% compared to 25.1% for native born blacks, suggesting race alone does not explain income disparity.” Two things to point out. First, the poverty rates for married black couples is IDENTICAL to the rates for white couples. Identical. Poverty is not a racial issue, it’s a single parent household issue. Secondly, the poverty rate for Latino kids is high, too… 40% vs 46% for their black counterparts. You don’t see corresponding levels of violence from the Latino kids. Violence isn’t necessarily a poverty issue, either, but a cultural issue. I’ve impregnated a couple of skirts in my day, and never once was it somebody ele’s fault. I know that i come across as a Neanderthal with my opinions. But I can’t stand people who won’t accept responsibility for their own mistakes… and it’s that much worse when they try to pawn their bad decisions off on me.

You can find the same things on Indian Reservations, Appalachia, and River Bottoms across the land. The difference is that we tell our kids that those people are eff-ups and you tell yours that it’s not black peoples’ fault… it’s racism.

It's like this.... Every town has a section where the black people used to live. SETX calls it a "poverty stricken area,' but it was once a thriving community. You can argue about why black people decided to move into government housing however you want. Was it the lack of a negative stigma in that community towards living in Section 8 housing? Was it the fact that single motherhood (caused by and out-of-wedlock birth rate many times that of other ethic groups) made the American dream of home ownership (and the accompanying maintenance) something that the typical black family didn't have. Instead of dreaming of renting an apartment, maybe buying a trailer, and one day owning a house, black kids couldn't wait to get their own place in the projects, then one day get an actual apartment, and hopefully end up on a list for a Section 8 House to rent (subsidized, of course). Is it any wonder that there's a wealth gap based on a lack of home ownership, but why is it my fault when I can ride through "that" neighborhood and tell exactly where every house used to stand because of the old porch that's still standing? And more importantly, why is it that you can build a brand new complex over near Central Mall, and yet the crime just comes on out there with the new inhabitants? I thought that giving them a nice place to live, food to eat, spending money, and a free smart phone would fix it all up? Except it won't because while the black community will happily accept any handout, they won't ever actually accept any responsibility for their own plight. None. Not a bit.

No, facts aren't racist. Men commit more rapes than women. If you want to say that rapes happen because of the sexualization of women or the lack of training about consent given to young men, that's fine... but at the end of the day as a man I have admit that more dudes commit rapes. And black people commit more violent crimes. Teaching young blacks kids that if they end up in prison, it's because they were poor or because the system is racist INSTEAD of pointing out simple fact that BLACK PEOPLE COMMIT MORE CRIMES, you'll throw away a few more generations of black youths.

It amazes me that we fought the British in the 1770s and again in 1812. We fought the Indians. We've fought wars with Mexico. We've fought each other. We fought the Germans, we fought the Japanese.... We fought the Italians, we fought the Koreans, we fought the Vietnamese. We've fought the Iraqis and we've fought the Afhans.... That's not to mention the entire Cold War that pitted us against the Russians, all of those Eastern Block Countries, the Chinese, the East Germans, etc..... Yet the only people towards whom we hold a grudge are black people. Isn't that crazy? People who lost their sons in Vietnam didn't hate Vietnamese people. All of my uncles that fought in ww2 didn't hate Asians, or Germans for that matter. But for some reason, we can't forgive the fact that they took our slaves away 150+ years ago, so we hate their descendants. Makes perfect sense to me.

Blacks. There are tons of equally impoverished communities across the US that don't share the violence.

It's beyond discussion that black people commit way more violent crimes than any other race here... murder particularly. In 2018 there were just over 14,000 murders in the US.... and 7,400 of those victims were black. A minority group that makes up only 13% of the total population but accounts for over 53% of the murder victims in the US... And despite that, the ironically named "Black Lives Matter" keep saying that "the greatest threat to unarmed black men is the racist police force," almost all of those black murder victims died at the hands of other black people. There's no hypocrisy there.... it makes sense. But to stand around and yell "abortion stops a beating heart" and then advocate injecting humans with a cocktail of drugs that stops their heart from beating is just bonkers.

Or the pro-lifers that support the death penalty.

Personally, I think that officer should be recognized for heroism. I, for one, have no problem with the police shooting anybody that is storming the House Chamber as part of an armed insurrection trying to overthrow our government.
