I agree. Ags would be middle of the pack in any conference. At least you can gravy train those other teams.

I'm told to expect a commitment to the Horns is forthcoming on Malik Jefferson. He was an Aggie lean but has soured. We appreciate you Coach Snyder!

You know that abrasive, backwards cousin every family has that lives out in the boondocks and is a pain to deal with for the rest of the family at weddings, funerals and Thanksgiving?

That's kind of how LSU is for the rest of the SEC.

Funny story for the Mid County Folks...... Having never lost to Ned in my High School career, one might say I tend to get extremely aggravated when we lose, especially what feels like for 20 years now (Actually 5). Anyway, Im leaving the game with my brother and nephew, and my nephew is trying to talk to me about something, and Im halfway listening due to the fact im upset...... So about this time I hear..... All I do is win win win, being played by the Nederland band....... So i went from mad to a little chuckle...... I thought, these guys are not only prepared on the field, but the band practiced a new song for the victory.... Turned my frown upside down.... LOL.. SO to the Nederland band, I say Thanks.

Thanks tvc. Hope you can enjoy the game while giving play-by-play. Glad some of the other kids are getting some playing time.

Anybody who uses that term with regard to high school sports is either exaggerating their feelings or needs help. In any event, they should read this post by our buddy GCMPats on the college board. Puts things into perspective.

All I will say is this could have been done. Putting our name with trophy, while greatly appreciated to those who do and did, was not a forced issue to anyone. TV stations did from time to time to give kudos but it was not every time deal and nobody at The News ever complained.

This site has been one we have all grown to love, whether you're a new member or one of that's been here since the beginning. We have fun with the trash talk and banter and it's all in good spirit most of the time. I just read through the squabbling on the rankings thread and felt it necessary to take a step back and put things into perspective. Granted it's forum posts and that can often lead to misinterpretation but based on some of the posts, it seemed as if there was some sincere animosity. Unlike college ball, the rankings on here, AP, coaches, etc. mean diddly squat. I rarely look at them on here for that reason. To get legitimately upset about one school over another blows my mind. The staff on here does a fantastic job and we should appreciate the time they do put in instead of criticizing them because of how they rank teams. Have fun on here, debate, talk trash, but getting upset over ranking seems a bit childish. It all comes down to Friday night (or the occasional Thursday/Saturday). I don't make light of passion. We all have it for our respective schools, but remember what these games are all about. It's about those kids working their butts off so they can play in the greatest game we know. We are merely spectators that have the opportunity to watch them grow up before our eyes. Disclaimer: I am no saint with this stuff. I have found my emotions affected by stuff on here plenty of times, but I have learned things over the years. So next time you find yourself feeling angry or upset about something, step back and take a look in the mirror and ask yourself if it's something worth you getting upset over. I will leave you with a quote that I look to often: "Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it."

Bingo. I am really hoping the play calling early had more to do with what swoopes was capable of at that point. I will say that I never wanted them to pull the rs and bring in Heard, primarily based on practice reports. I think we can be confident now that the coaches were right sticking with swoopes and hopefully he continues to get better weekly. I will say this - Saban recruited Swoopes very aggressively and Nick ain't wrong very often. And it's starting to look like Tyrone isn't the exception to the rule.

I am starting to like our QB if the AHCO Watson keeps the playbook open for him.

At this time in his carreer, being a sophmore, he is very much still learning the position. Watson has only had him for 9 months.

PNG side was packed at kickoff, unlike when we come over there and folks are trying to get in the stands through the single access.

I would bet that most Horn fans are happy with the progression of this team in general. They have not lost to a team that they should not have and they have been in almost every game. The expectation was low this year, .500 would be a plus IMO.

Some supporters need to take the blinders off. Recruits see what is happening on the field week in and out. A&M will definitely give a beat down to UL-M in two weeks. All the talk on one side of the fence will be 'We're Back'! Look at what we did in the bye week. The changes made by sumlin were just what we needed. As lee corso says, "Not so fast my friend." After win #6, I don't see many more victories coming their way. Actually, I see several huge losses in their future.
Look for a good number of their recruits to jump ship if the losses continue to mount up.

ND got hosed. They ran the same play earlier and the penalty was not called. Right or wrong, if it's not a penalty then, don't call it with the game on the line.

I hope the NC game is as good as this one was. Very entertaining.

I know y'all are talking about THIS year. But I see LSU losing at least 2 more SEC games this season(old Miss and Alabama) possibly losing out with Arkansas and Texas A&M left.. If Miles doesn't turn it around by next season, I can easily see the calls for his Head to roll as well.

Last February my wife was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer. Needless to say, it was quite a shock to our family.Lucky for us we live 45 minutes from one of the best cancer hospitals in the world with MD Anderson. In March she underwent a double mastectomy and started chemotherapy treatments every 3 weeks. The first 4 rounds of chemo were terrible (She would be out of commission for about 4 days.)

We have spent the last 11 weeks traveling to MD Anderson every Saturday morning (and when our daughter had a band contest we would go on Sunday) for the final chemo rounds. The side effects are not as bad, but they are still life altering. This Sunday, she will have her final round of chemo (she has 6 more months of going every 3 weeks for an infusion that is not as toxic as the chemotherapy)! Hopefully she will begin to grow her hair back soon and she will feel like herself again.

She will have reconstructive surgery in December, but I feel like the worst is behind her.

With this being Breast Cancer Awareness month, I wanted to share our story. Early detection is the key to fighting and cancer.

We may banter back and forth on this forum, but you guys do not know how much I really needed to "talk" to you during this time. I have not met any of you in person, but I wanted to thank you for providing me with an outlet.

    Thank you!
