whatnamecanipick reacted to TxHoops in Todd Gurley Suspended Indefinitely
This really, really is a dumb rule. Maybe Gurley is the kid people can rally behind to effect change. Johnny, for all his excitability, didn't endear himself to john q fan off the field. -

Impressive! (And correct - which you knew.). Doug shankle is still #2 on the all time tackles list at UT (behind Britt Hager) and is the all time leader in solo tackles with well over 300 of those. -

By the way, You just lost. You have pirates coming with a goal post. Maybe get your big behind up and get out of the way/leave the stadium. No wonder there are Aggie jokes... -

Been watching old RRR games on espn classic. I remember a lot of these games. I forgot how bad the QBs sucked at throwing in the 80s (and before).
I hadn't forgot how bad Chris Simms sucked. Blood still boils watching Major hold a clipboard. -

Wow. Investigative reporting at Its finest... Word around the water cooler is that Neumann is installing a totally new oopty ewww offense and it has Krautz playing as the QB. Seay will be starting at linebacker and they will run the 50 all night and funnel everything his way. So the tweet is basically saying he is looking forward to watching the offense while he is playing defense..... Also word from PA news is that after the next 2 weeks Seay will be honored with the offensive and defensive player of the year award, along with the Willie Ray Smith award, and 1rst team QB and LB. Other sources state Neumann will go into retirement after the season due to unwanted stress from all of these unauthorized tweets. NISD Is in The process of hiring Mark Zuckerburg to devise a plan for future tweets to only be broadcasted over NISD areas as well as the PAISD recruited areas so that leaks will not happen again. In the meantime PNGISD is petitioning the state to see these tweets once they are broadcasted due to copyright infringements. Watch ESPN tonight for further updates..... -

Do you think that they will get the cooperation of the cheerleaders or sabered corpsmen!
If the turf is still sacred, there is alot of turf around the goalposts!

I will be patient with AHCO Watson for one year. Tha is one year more than I gave Greg Davis.

Ole James Brown. He was good. He beat us in the Big 12 champ game. Some people are just afraid to put young guys out there on the field. If they can play they can play. Throw them in the fire, its how they grow up.
On your Watson hire. If I were horns fans I would be trying to run that guy out of town already.

Have you ever heard of James Brown.
He made his first start against Oklahoma and shocked the world.
QB'd for four years. Shea Morenz, who was the injured starter left Texas for other opportunities.

Guys here is the straight scoop. And some things never change... Your not the man till you beat the man..... And at this time Ned is the man. Neumann has a knack for pulling sh$t out of his hat. Prime example is vs PNG a few times over the last several years.. Ned will be ready to play, and honestly as weak as the district is nobody has been tested yet. End of the year look for Central, PNG, Ned, and another to be in the playoffs.. After that get ready for hunting season, because nobody is going deep. Central has a shot just like everyone else.... What they do with it is the question.. Look for Nederland to play smart and hope Central makes mistakes that Ned can capitalize on. If that happens it's anyone's ball game. If it's a sloppy game I'm sure the score might get ugly.... But...... Don't count out Larry Neumann. -

A few notes: The consensus among the coaches (and really the players will tell you the same) is that Heard is simply not ready. Swoopes gives the team a better chance to win and throwing Jerrod out there now will hurt the team and, quite frankly, Jerrod. Barring a huge jump in practices or an injury, he looks to be a redshirt.
Second, a lot of talk is circulating about pulling the rs off Duke Catalon. He is believed to be, by more than a few coaches and players, to be the most talented back on the team. He continues to amaze in practice. The staff really wanted to redshirt him due to having M Brown and Gray already toting the ball. But with Daje dinged up (hasn't practiced this week yet), they need his explosiveness. 50/50 whether we see him this year.
Third, apparently Strong wanted guys like Bergeron, Estelle, Harrison, etc. gone long ago but let Patterson (who is very much feeling the heat) talk him into second and third chances (with rehab and the like). Strong isn't big on multiple chances and the players were mostly okay with letting go of their non-compliant teammates. Finally, Charlie said to hell with it, they're gone (with the two OTs most recently and notably). This was undermined with conflicting statements released out of Belmont which didn't make him happy. Ultimately, he put his foot down and said "Enough! This is my team." The players will not be back and, ironically, the big wigs are supportive of Strong and more mud is on Patterson's face.
Finally, the only guy in the program with more heat on him than Patterson is Watson. When Strong announced he was bringing him, there were a lot of double takes. Patterson hitched his wagon to Strong and his defensive genius. But Charlie was told he could spend 7 figures + getting a top named OC. So everyone was a little leery when Watson was his choice. In comes the Wickline hire and the belief that he would be calling the plays (but he hasn't). Watson either has to turn it around quickly or he will be having a short stay in Austin. Strong is not going to be afforded the opportunity to exhibit loyalty in the same manner Mack was with Greg Davis. -

You put 7 points up on a team were you defense is holding and getting you the ball regularly even against the No. 7 texas = O needs work and lots of it. And by the way - Texas got a give me touchdown late in the fourth congrats.
