Capela has gotten stronger from the little preseason action I have seen so far, he is going to be fun to watch for the next few years. I like the way Harrell plays and hope he can contribute when/if he sees some floor time. Adding Lawson was huge. Although he has some off the court troubles, he is a veteran that knows how to facilitate an offense and score. Like king said, this is the deepest Rockets team I have seen in years and although the western conference is a gauntlet, they should be in good position to make a run this season!

Dayton beat C.E. King in straight sets.

Hope the Astros can pull it out tonight. Hinch says all hands on deck when it comes to pitching availability.

Would rather see McCullers than Kazmir
I agree but the reasoning Hinch gave was that Kazmir pitched well against the Royals this year and he has the postseason experience. Hopefully McCullers starts game 4, he is my favorite Astro.

I like Mack as commentator.
I would love to see Mack get an offer as AD. It would be a great fit for both him and the program. He is built for that type of job and he knows the program well.

As a UT fan, I couldn't be happier... Patterson had to go and the decision was made quickly.

Heard was better than Swoopes I will give you that - but could the level of opponent have maybe something to do with that fact.
Heard having a "good game" against Rice does not mean that the Texas O is now rejuvenated - that will have to be done against as "quality" opponent.
Same thing as we (Aggies) cannot crown Kyle Allen the best QB in football after his showing against Ball State - that will also have to be done against "quality" opponents.
Very true... I hope Heard is the guy that can play well and make UT relevant again but even VY and Colt struggled when they were learning how to be a college QB. I am anxious to see how Heard plays against conference opponents. He seems like a gamer.

The Patriots were fined $1,000,000 and lost 2 draft picks. Do they get that back?
Doubtful. The PSI level in the football was less than league standard so the team punishment should stick. It is the individual punishment that was overturned.

@NFL: Trent Richardson's stint with the Raiders is over (via @RapSheet):
Thats it for him I think
I think we can classify him as a true bust now. The dude can't say he didn't get a fair shake (or 3).

Sam is a rapist, how can you be pleased with that? His attorney must have a low standard of ppl. I don't know how probation shows who Sam is as a person. At least he got probation, Ben Rapistberger got nothing.
Defense attorneys are the scum of the earth, especially in trials such as this.

What's your prediction for the score Sat night: Irish vs Horn?
My heart says 27-24 UT, but my head says 31-17 ND

As a Longhorn fan, I personally don't care if the guy needs a step stool behind a podium or if he is a member of the lollipop guild. The only question I have is, "Can he win football games and be good for the program?". Fortunately, I feel like Strong can do both so it is a win win for my fandom. I guess only time will tell if he can or not.

All lives matter. It is sad that the media divides this country like it does and we all can't realize that no matter who/where/what/why/and how someone was raised and the ethnicity that they are overrides the fact that people are dying in very unfortunate situations because of either ignorance on the part of someone else or the ignorance of their own actions. My opinion doesn't mean much of anything but here it is anyways... The world will become a better place when individuals hold themselves accountable for their actions and stop placing blame on their situation, upbringing, race, political affiliation, gang affiliation, job title, etc. As a culture, Americans are becoming finger pointers and name callers and it is just ridiculous. Police officers are not always in the right but they do make this world a much better place and if they are provoked or if they happen to cross paths with someone that is either breaking the law or they have suspicion of that person for breaking the law, and they have just been to a horrible crime scene, dealt with domestic or child abuse, or many other scenarios, they are probably not going to be in the best state of mind to argue with or resisted. I am not making an excuse for an officer who commits crime themselves, but just the everyday, average officer goes through and sees things that the majority of the population would need meds or therapy after being involved in. Like I stated, my opinion does not mean anything to most and I am perfectly fine with that, I just don't want my children growing up in the society that I fear will become a reality in the coming years. Mutual respect and the ability to bite your tongue and just wait out a given situation until you are able to present your side of that situation will go a long way.

RG111 comes out and says he is the best qb in the league. I guess you have to toot your own horn. Hope he was kidding and taking himself seriously.
Media took that way out of context. I heard the full soundbite this morning on 790 and what he actually said was well worded and very understandable.

Awesome environment at the game last night... Nationally televised on ESPN, not a bad crowd for a Wednesday night, and dollar hot dog night... When they had no hits after 4 it made me a bit nervous but they got the bats going and McCullers continues to impress... Hopefully Kazmir shuts the Angels down tonight and the Stros complete the sweep... Personally, it says a lot about this team that they are beating a pretty good club in a very meaningful series and also that they are taking advantage of the Angels not having Trout in the lineup.

Ty Lawson has some things to prove and he has some demons to battle, but I do believe he is in a good situation to battle these issues with the help of John Lucas, who has battled issues of his own and is very good at helping others overcome addiction and problems.

Not draft related but Bobby Bonilla receives 1.193 million dollars from the Mets today as he will every year until 2035. One of the smartest contracts ever by a player during his time.
I also read he receives an additional $500k or so per year through 2028 via a combo of the Mets and Orioles. Him and his agent are very smart!

You work for the team?
Unfortunately not... Just lucky guesses. Very happy with both picks!

I am no swing coach or pro but just looking at his swing, he looks like he is trying to smash everything and hit the ball as far as he did 5 or 6 years ago... With the quality of the younger generation of golfers emerging, I personally don't think he will win another major.

He's messed up more kids names than he's got right. Heck of a football game to watch, but hard to listen to these clowns...
