  1. Exciting time to be an Astros fan. I am working up on the Canadian border in Michigan and got the chance to go watch the game in Toronto yesterday and got to talking to some of the Blue Jays fans and even they were saying how the batting averages across the board and the lack of production we are getting from the SS position is a glaring weakness. Hopefully calling up Correa can give the team a spark and help get the team rolling again.

  2. Starting lineup for the Rockets the first time they played GS this season was Canaan, Harden, Ariza, Papanikolaou, and Black... Things have changed a lot over the course of the season and I think the Rockets can win this series. I'll take the Rockets in 7, Howard averaging 20 and 15, and Harden averaging over 30 per game in this series.

  3. Like I said in another post.....how long has he been doing this and is he that good?

As for every player cheating....If I have to cheat to win, I don't even want to play. I would have to carry that with me. It would be tarnished and I couldn't enjoy it. Guess it's called conscience.

I don't think he has to cheat to win. In the AFC Championship game in which this all occured in the first half, the balls were inflated back to whatever psi level that is legal and the Pats still went out and obliterated the Colts in the 2nd half. Was it wrong? Yes. Was it the reason they won their championships? No.

  4. I totally agree with the punishments handed down on the organization and wouldn't have minded them being more severe, and before I say this, I am not a Patriots or Tom Brady fan, but how can a guy be suspended without evidence of wrongdoing. I may have missed something, but all I heard was that he "more likely than not" knew about and/or put together the scheme to have the balls tampered with. I am glad he got suspended and think that he definitely is guilty, but without proof I am very surprised they came at him.

  5. I hope he keeps it together. After reading his book, it gave me some insight into his particular situation and I hope he stays the course and doesn't fall back into what he has worked hard to overcome. He has been fun to watch on the baseball field but I could care less about him as a baseball player at this point, what I care about is seeing him do the right thing and take care of himself and his family while inspiring and helping others.

  6. Shawn Stefani from Baytown, also a Lamar alum., is playing some really good golf this year and fired a 66 in his opening round at the Shell Houston Open. Hopefully he continues to play well and gives himself a chance to win the SHO on Sunday so he will qualify for the Master's next week.

  7. Isn't part of the reason they start guys off down there is because it keeps that clock from starting if they aren't on the opening day roster so they will have their rights for an extra year? I was listening to 97.5 the other day and they were talking about it.

That is correct. The number of games they must play in the minors to start the season off is usually different on a player to player basis but it is all about saving money for the team. The kid from the Cubs organization,  Bryant, is a perfect example of this.

  8. I am not sure why but I just have a good feeling about this matchup... I think the defense will play much better after the terrible performance this past Saturday... Whether or not the Horns can get the win I don't know, but I do know Swoopes and the offensive line are improving by the game and they will come to play!

  9. If Manziel warranted a #1 overall pick he wouldn't have fell as far as he did. Not picking Clowney would've been one of the biggest blunders of draft history. The Texans will most likely address the need for a QB in the upcoming draft. O'Brien brought up a great point in his press conference which was if you look at film, Fitz does well when he has a pocket to throw from. I for one trust in O'Brien to put the guys out there that gove the team the best shot at winning. They are 3-3 with some very close, tough losses while some people are acting gloom and doom. Sit back and enjoy the season or go jump on the Dallas bandwagon.
