But since Smoaky covers such a much bigger area than us, they should be blowing us away in numbers. That simply is not the case.

Thanks for the thoughts and payers for my youngest Edelmon... Just wanted ya'll to know he got a full release yesterday from the doc and was in pads at practice yesterday afternoon.... In my humble opinion, HJ just got a little better... :D :D :D

Actually maybe not. You will probably base it on the respective scores and not sure newton will lose worse than 39-7. I don't think it will be super close either. But I would line the mustangs up against Tatum and put a hefty wager on WOS. Regardless of what the newton/WOS score ends up being. But that's what makes this board fun. We are all entitled to our opinions. (By the way, the HJ Tatum game will be telling as well. I might change MY opinion after that one!)

Rusk is pretty much not good. They are a running team. Been a few years since I've seen them though. Double wing.

Henderson should of lost to Athens, another running team.

Newton can and will win this game. I hope they do. Henderson is 17 miles from Tatum and have only played Tatum once and that was in the 1930's. Always saying no.

as you know of course these schedules are usually agreed upon and planned a few years in advance.  If you look back to 2012 I believe lost to BC like 50 to 0 and was losing to these schools.  So it kinda makes sense and I expect that  Coach Neece understands the importantance of quality opponets and if he could have scheduled better competetion he would have.

Newton scored on those drives anyways.... It looked like the eagles let off the gas in the second half. Our defense stiffened a little, but not that much. There were some really talented kids wearing purple out there last night.

After playing Kirbyville and Newton the last two weeks, I've got to say that Newton is still the team to beat.

Yea. The back up played. QB1 hasn't took a snap since 6th play of first scrimmage. He would if played this coming week if we had a game.

I wouldn't say the back up is just as good. Back up reads the option better but starter is faster and has a better arm.

The backup is needed more on defense.

This might have been the best thing that could have happened to Newton. Glad they scheduled good teams. They better learn from it. Stay healthy and they will do well the rest of the season.

Is it true that VHS students raised the funds from private donations to pay for travel expenses to/from Florida?  If so, major props and a round of applause to VHS students and the Vidor community for raising the money/donations and not costing your ISD or VISD taxpayers one penny for the trip.  Bravo.  You have earned the right to go and compete, paid you own way, and now it is time to reap your reward.  Good luck, safe travels, and win or lose enjoy the experience.
