If the state takes over today, there still will be layoffs tomorrow. Stop wasting money and get on with it. Personally, I want every person on the board replaced because they allowed this to happen. None of them were doing their job. Everybody warned that no one would be happy if the state took over.
 
I just wonder where all this "community action" was in 1995 when the state was going to take over BISD because the students couldn't read. Everybody (me too) complained about Dr. Thomas' salary but I know he got his contract because the others turned down the job and they begged him to take it. He initially withdrew from consideration.

FYI Ozen's PS3 coach did try to recruit at Odom. The only reason my buddy won't let his son go to that school is because PS3 was promising to buy them shoes and other BS.

Played a little football but picked basketball. neither sport made me and we both know I'm doing great in life. But JRidge, you didn't finish from Hebert I did. Ozen is not Hebert ! Ozen is not Hebert. Oh, with that bulletin Board help we've still beat you guys. Let me clear this up, Ozen does have players that would play at Central in all sports. Man, you make it about you a lot, sometimes read your posts before you post them. Your football knowledge is not as great as you think it is. Now, my knowledge as a dad, I'll take over football. Now, check mate me on this... one kid engineer, other four top 10 in each class. Now be cool because you have forgot what helped you in the past, You knowing the kids,.. All little league coaches feel that way. Kids grow up and its not just about sports. Besides, neither one of us get paid to coach, and we both have our opinions. Good Luck man and I hope all school in our area have great seasons with no injuries

Watch it JRidge will call that recruiting, but West Brook did show up to my sons school and met with them several times ; so the bottom line for my family was where other family members were and what we as there parents wanted for our kids.  Grades and behavior they carried that from home, we are rising our children not the school .

When Hebert was closed and we had only two high schools in Beaumont no one from Central question why the kids that live from the avenues and north of Washington blvd when to West Brook and not Central now that it appears that Central is doing good everyone is crying that they are recruiting.

I understand what you mean by 6A playing more kids, they have more to choose from. I don't think any Coach seeks to Sabotage their Teams, but some are likely to Appease a certain Brass of folk. As for Fans, I've always said fans are full of crap. I'm a Supporter which is a big difference. Too many fans turn on their Teams when things aren't going the way they feel it should go. My Family & I support all of SETX & a little beyond. I truly hope all of our opponents win All of their games except the game against our Panthers.

Bigcam I agree that most coaches know what they are doing. I kind lean to the point that we are just overzealous fans. They even help some kids get in school. Can we try to find a best 22 players? 22 starters mean more kids that get seen by recruiters. I know Ozen is a smaller school. When I mentioned 5A earlier I actually meant old 5A(6A now). There's still a difference between a small 5A and 3A.
 
Coaches usually do what they got to do to win, rightly so. 

WELL in jmo  Ozen had the best defense in the area now I'm not saying Nederland front wasn't one of the best but, imo I like Ozen defense. Now for the talk on Lambert she's not my close friend, but Lambert didn't decide where my kids when to school, it was there choice with I and my wife saying ok. The medical magnet program was what got the first one choice on Central and the rest followed. Now we as a Family are HAPPY  because we have two that have finish from major D-1 colleges, oh and they didn't go for sports-- OU and Baylor; so to let you know about some of the talk about cheating and whatever people say is going on at Central we didn't see it and last we send our kids to where they go in life with what we install in them from home, so if it was PA ,West Brook, Ozen or PNG I know how we raise them, god, family and community . Just remember some of the things we write, I know a lot of people that or living good with no money problem or spiritual and sports has nothing to with them.  If there are parents out there that are thinking sport first be careful I know several pros that or home back with there parents , but they still have there sports.

When Ozen opened it killed Westbrook sports for a while. I guess that you forgot Arthur was a winning coach. We knew there would be problems there when they ran him off. Westbrook got back on track when Arthur went back to Westbrook with Stump. The "panther" alumni followed the coaching. Ozen fans are very demanding. At one point you could go to their game and all you heard was those old Hebert used-to-be's bad mouthing the team. NEWSFLASH: THIS IS OZEN HIGH SCHOOL! 
 
 
Central fans are die hard! We will be there for them if nobody else will.
Westbrook fans are indifferent. They just there for the kids.
Ozen fans . . . come to the other games when their not winning.

I blame the kids for not keeping their commitment to the team and the parents for letting them do.

That's not what I meant. If the kid that has all the natural talent, the track kid. If when he's 10 years old starts to play baseball and that is what he primarily concentrates on he will be a good baseball player, provided he is coached well. And very few has the potential to be a pitcher. Or quarterback for that matter. But good coaching definitely helps. Not saying every kid can be great at every sport. But I don't believe that school A that has never been good at a sport is not because they don't have athletes available. The athletes available are not being coached for the sport they are not good at, or there is no emphasis on that sport. There is no way you can convince me that football athletes only grow in certain neighborhoods. Some years you have more athletes. available than other years. My last post on this. We must agree or not to disagree

My point is, if your a great coach and have support you will win. May not have great talent every year. You'll still be above average on a down year. When you have alot of kids with great talent you will do well. Great programs are consistent, when they couple great talent with a great program, great things happen. A team that loses year in and year out, is not coached well and not supported, every school has talent, it goes up and down, but you need a good program with support to be successful

I have no problem, my daughter has the second best split on the team outside of the coaches daughter!!! She couldnt be second to a better person!! My daughter and his daughter have been hated on all your by your staff and they hold the keys to the others girls regional bid, Mr Run DMC!! The strange thing is they also hold the keys to their own regional because they qualified in  open events, that means with no help from other girls !! Their hard work is paying off and i'm proud of both of them!! YOURE THE REASON OZEN CANT FIND A COACH BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE YOU RUN OFF GOOD COACHES, WELL GOOD COACHES DONT READ THIS SITE!!!LOL SINCE YOURE ON THIS SITE YOURE QUALIFY TO BE THE NEXT GREAT OZEN (HEBERT) COACH APPLY SIR OR STAY IN ADMIN, OHHH IM SORRY GET CERTIFIED FIRST OR TAKE THE NEXT TRAIN BACK TO PA!!!

Cowboys got their revenge. No one wants to remember the throw from Aikman to Alvin Harper for about 90 yards. How about the onside kick to start the second half? Its just the haters who remember the catch. Dallas has lots of memorable plays. 49 ers owned the 80s. Cowboys owned the 70s and 90s.

He is a quality hire but not a miracle worker. He does know what to do with talent and Ozen has plenty of it. Good luck coach!
 
We need to start wondering what is it about BISD that makes coaches want to leave.

I don't know about Ozen in particular, but when a new coach is hired, if it generates excitement with the kids, then you get some of them to come out and play that weren't previously part of the program. Hopefully the kids are excited and buy in, too much talent for them to be where they were last year.

It's hard for a ship to reach the dock on it's own and now Ozen has a Captain with experience. Now a Captain is no good without a ship to guide and Ozen has talent, despite what some may believe they have some big bodies that have to be developed and if he can get some out on the field from the hallways then he should be just fine. His crew members must be able to support him and develop the players. It's not all impossible to have success this year but a lot of things will have to fall in place real soon. Good thing is, is that, it's not Suggs 1st rodeo and I say Panthers will be solid this coming year because he will hold everyone accountable for being the best they can be. JMO ;)

Just to let you know, Central's history is from several schools, not just one. In this generation though, there is no school in Beaumont that's been dominant in anything.

Lol, you've got jokes now! It's never about the size of the dog in the fight, it's about the heart and also the discipline the dog has! You should know this as a former Panther now Jaguar, and just because something looks good on paper doesn't mean the outcome will be as expected for both sides. I'm hoping both will be playoff teams and we all know Little League is supposed to be for development and you're right on one thing, being good enough then doesn't mean good enough now and that's why there's this thing called work!
