Picking scores is nearly impossible!!! But as I said before & will say once again, it's like throwing feathers up in the air, they land where they land!!! Any given team, on any given night!!!  Hope everyone stays injury free!!!
Here's hoping the local Beaumont/Port Arthur/Mid-County teams play their best for 4 quarters!!!

We'll if you really feel that way, it also implies that we lost to a team w one guy as well. We're the ones supposed to have all the speed and athleticism overall.
On any given night the other team can suprise you and win. We should have learned from last years game to play 4 quarters of ball. Just like we lost to them they lost to nederland and in my opinion for those games the losers actually had the better teams. Just that night one team was better prepared. That's how football goes sometimes. My old teams beat ppl we had no business beating and lost to others we shouldn't have.
We gotta come prepared to play 4 full quarters and everything else will take care of itself. Very soon we will see teams with multiple "roschon" type athletes who can match our speed and athleticism. Can't make no excuses then. Gotta ball

Slight work. Lets run through these boys real quick and move on. Jones has been gaining confidence lately and has come through with some nice throws. Im excited about the playoffs this year. If Jones can keep it up, along with what he and Hines contribute in the run game, we may make a nice run. Time for those recievers to start playing big boy football now. We will need that balance against good teams.
Big boy time fellas. And please no crying about referees in the playoffs. Im still seeing people a month later whining. As a former two sport ball player its all part of the game. The good teams don't make those mistakes and even if they do, they are able to overcome them. Lets get it.

    So, here it goes.

For some reason, Nederland, as always, comes out and is mentally prepared to play this game. It does not matter if they are outgunned or have injured players, or what.. They are prepared, have a good game plan, follow the game plan, and are in the right spots. I often thought it was just a Neamann thing. But after last night I realized its just a Nederland thing. Monte has those kids as prepared as LN did. They are in a right mental state, they play hard, make plays, do not miss tackles, and follow the plan laid out. On the coaching side, Monte and Spell, once again where a step ahead of everything we did. They dictated everything we did. There is a reason why Nederland wins this game 8 out of 10 times. So putting all the trash talking to side, Congratulations to Nederland and their fans. I think it shows you do not need a new stadium, turf, facilities, 38 fancy uniforms, and 20 helmets.. If you have a great coaching staff, believe in your staff, buy into your tradition, and put it all out on the field, the end result is what it is. And that is a win. So at least for this one game every year, you wont catch me talking any trash. Some things never change, and it showed last night. Nederland has not missed a beat, Congrats.

This year we have the Indians, Bulldogs, Pirates and Titans repping the area.
Bulldogs- If they can pretend every player is from PN-G on the other side of the ball, Nederland could make very well make noise. They showed poise, creativity, a balanced attack, and a willingness to commit to what works. Good job on em Coach Barrow, and good luck to your kids and team in the playoffs.
Pirates- Smash mouth, Smash mouth, Smash Mouth! Even without the Quirantes in the backfield, this year's Vidor team has proven they can and will run the ball effectively especially on teams who are unfamiliar with their offense. They may not have the best athletes or team in 22-5a, but I don't think anyone would disagree with them being perhaps the most scrappy team in 22-5a despite their athletic limitations.
Indians-They will go as far as the offense takes them and everyone has known that all along.  They have pretty good athletes on the offensive side of the ball. Got to find ways to get creative and get the ball back into the hands of the playmakers. As far as Defense.....it is what it is.
Titans- The team with perhaps the best chance to make a deep run, the Titans are IMO best equipped to handle playoff football with their speedy defense. Their offense led by Jones and Hines is a running juggernaut however Jones will finally be tested as a QB against teams with more defensive talent than the average 22-5a team. Hines will be Hines, so IMO how Jones does will determine how far they go.  Good luck kid. Rep PAT and make the city proud.
Hope all the teams do well, even though one of them hates because a certain kid isn't at their school. I WANT a 21-5a sweep, however the more likely record will be
    2-2
Who wins and who loses though is for you guys to debate. Its playoff time

Y'all still mad about the Memorial kids both shaking y'all kid's hand.  Again, y'all do realize that during the REAL coin toss by the field house, those kids shook hands already.  when the game starts,  yes, they didn't shake hands.  It was the big game psychological edge.  Almost like when the team captains meet at the 50 yard line and his team takes a couple of steps from the sidelines..  psychological from that point.  But y'all probably already knew this...  The PA kids do respect their opponents, contrary to popular belief...

Central by far will surprise a lot of people. The kid from Nederland is good but not even close to being the best kid in the district. I think that's very disrespectful and bias to even make that assumption. It was two kids from that district that was all region. Dill and Wesley. The PA kid Wesley is a player. Great size and could shoot it as well. Hefner is not ready to put a team on his back just yet. Maybe in time yes , but not now. You know your good not by just having good games. But having good effective games with great efficiency when teams game plan to stop you. Don't know if he's seen that yet and if he's ready for it. Kasen Harrision will be the guy at central for the next three years. The sky's the limit for him. Don't get caught up in the so called offers. All offers aren't real. The kid from Bush ( Ettienne ) had two offers as a freshman. Kansas state and Texas tech. I know the family well and let's just say he could attend those schools right now if he offered to pay for half. Memorial is definitely the team to beat. The rest of the positions will be filled by coaching. Ozens coach is in his first year, Central coach has had great talent and never really HAD to coach, and this is familiar for English. So the man who gets the most with less should win 2nd place. So don't count English out either. But all in all it should be an interesting year. I can't wait.

I would like to remind certain folks that I was ridiculed a few years ago for predicting Silsbee wouldn't lose more than 3 district games in the 5 year period.  With the forfeit last year, that makes 2 losses in 3 years with two years to go. But I am a man of conviction and am willing to still take any bets on my original prediction, even spotting the forfeit loss that wouldn't have otherwise resulted in an L.  So I have one district loss to give over this year and the next.

Was talking with a local assistant coach at a neighboring school a few weeks ago.  No telling what kind of offers he would have gotten had he played on a shoe circuit (see Miller Kopp referenced in other thread).  Assuming of course he would have performed similarly against stiffer competition.
