  1. The Whorns are a whopping 1-7 against OU this century. Don't hold yer breath waiting for things to change. You're an idiot.
  2. No doubt, Silsbee does have a very nice stadium. It is nice, but it's time for an update. How about a real scoreboard with video and stereo? And might as well put in some field turf while they are at it. That would like great inside that nice track!
  3. (TheBigSwitch must have just found out that Dan Ray Hooks applied....sssshhhhhh! keep it quiet!) Makes sense about Hooks. I always heard he's got a great working relationship with Little Cypress Junior High players and their families.
  4. Then why don't you tell us since it's public knowledge? I choose to remain anonymous. I hear ya Young Coach , I know for a fact that there is no hidden agenda with the School Board as some are implying. The school board does want a change and a change for the best. They agonized bad over the move with Matt , and they are not going to go through that to not go all the way through with doing the right thing. If they were not going to do what was best for PNG in who they hire they would have just left Matt where he was. they were too hasty in their decision. matt had alot of young kids to work with. might've been a different story if they would at least gave him one more year to prove that. school boards, bah hum bug > > > Before you make a post like this you might want to check PNG's record since 2000. Never mind here it is: Year W-L-T Coach Highlights 2008 3-6-0 Matt Burnett 2007 8-4 Matt Burnett District Champions 2006 5-5 Matt Burnett 2005 5-3 Matt Burnett 2004 8-4 Matt Burnett District Champions 2003 9-3* Matt Burnett District Champions, *includes 38-18 win over Jasper that was later forfeited 2002 5-5-0 Matt Burnett 2001 3-6-0 Matt Burnett 2000 5-5-0 Matt Burnett Like it or not change is coming. Looks like da PNG community needs to upgrade der gene pool! Whooaaaaaaaaa! Ouch!
  5. Settle down Rykerx144. Last year is over, so don't look back... look ahead: Returning Offense: All-District Center, Dustin West; Second Team All-District Guard, Dillon Peel; Newcomer of The Year, RB, LeFredrick Ford; Returning Co-Starter, FB, JaMichael Ervine; Fred Rhodes, RB, talk is he will be back; Good young linemen to fill the gaps; QB position will end up being good; 2nd TE, Chris Ezidore, currently takes over at the position; Stefan Jackson, will figure in somewhere on offense; Justin Keene will be a really good WR. The Cats will still be able to score as always. come on snuk?? Im trying to play them down, you know we do better as the underdogs!! cant you just play along? Come on Snuka! Don't let the cat out of the bag, so to speak! Heck, we'll still be the underdogs. Look at the first five games next year! All against 3As (four playoff teams) Diboll - Away, Jasper - Home, WOS - Away, at Liberty, Hardin Jefferson - Home
  6. Seriously! The AP has their ducks in a row huh? Burge was named Honorable Mention 3A Offensive Lineman... The only thing is he plays for 2A Kirbyville Does that make him First Team 2A since he's honorable mention in 3A? ???
  7. If Burge is honorable mention 3A does that make him First Team 2A? AP = JOKE
  8. Requiring masters is a good thing, that should eliminate a bunch there. Requiring a masters is stupid and ignorant. Are you telling me that if there was a coach/AD without a masters that did a great job at another school as a coach/AD and would be the best fit to come in and get PNG back on track that you think it's a good thing you don't hire him because he doesn't have a masters? Get off your high horse. That's ridiculous!
  9. College coaches do not wait for the All-State list to come out. The attention is already been drawn way before the All-State list comes out.
  10. You do not have to have a masters to be a Head Coach and an AD. That's PNG being PNG.
  11. Great post OLDYELLER21...great post!!!! Everything you mentioned is so true! Our local papers have kville players in there every week. Its just so sad to see our kids go out this way. They do deserve better than what they received! It does not cost the players scholarships. That is ridiculous to even think so. Really, do you think a college coach sees a kids on film and says, "Wow, this kid can play for us!" He then takes the film back to the head coach and then the staff sits down and evaluates the kid against the kids in the other hundreds of tapes from other schools. Then the staff agrees, "This kid can play for us, let's offer him a full scholly." But then, the head coach says, "Wait a minute. I don't see this kid's name on the AP All-State list. He can't play for us now! We will not offer him a scholarship if he's not good enough to make the AP All-State team." It is a joke that there are not any Kirbyville players on the All-State team for two years in a row. Heck, even last year Pierce Rhodes didn't even make honorable mention and he was the District MVP. Again, my main point is, it does not cost players scholarships.
  12. No Kirbyville players made All-State for the second year in a row. Pierce Rhodes didn't even make honorable mention last year! What a joke! Guess they will name Alvarez Coach of the Year for taking a group of no-talent players all the way to the State Finals.
  13. Not looking good at this point. Musgrove can't raise his arm above his shoulder. They all go to the doc today for a real evaluation.
  14. Kirbyville now has four starters out! Musgrove #11, Ervine #15, West #50, Everett #20 Time to step up if you're a backup!
