Current other game going most our way is Southeastern leading Northwestern 4-1 in the 6th inning.

If and I mean a big IF...if all scores in the conference remain with the team leading right now.... 4 way tie for 3rd and UIW 1 game ahead going in to tomorrow.   Again, a big if. 

I liked last year's format in the SLC. The top two teams were rewarded with a 4 team elimination at home to try to reach the finals. Then the remaining best team got the championship at their field. It gives the best teams during the season a little better odds of following through in the tournament. Under current format this will always give McNeese a bit of an advantage. The other teams receive no advantage other than playing a lower seed in their first round game.
Still a ton of scenarios left for the seedings even with two games left but yours will work. We just need to take care of our own business by winning our final two.

After last night, it appears UIW is the team to support if you're a Lamar fan.  There are other scenarios that could get them out of the play-in game, but a sweep by Lamar and UIW and AMC splitting the final 2 games does it. 
Quite sure those of you that follow this thread know I mention a sweep for Lamar because it ensures you also move past McNeese in the standings. 
Differrnt note, if McNeese were to lose in the play-in game there will be a very low attendance total for the tournament.   With McNeese holding hosting rights for several years a one site format is set, but truly wish the conference could return to last years set up for the tournament.  The McNeese vs Southeastern 3 game series for the championship drew really good crowds last year. 

Well Tuesday night victory against UTRGV by a score of 10-4. Close out the regular season against HCU on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. This will finally determine if we make the conference tournament and if so what position we will occupy.

Augusta is in the Southland for golf only otherwise they are in Division II Peach Belt Conference.
Both the men and the women won the Southland Golf tournaments. The woman are going to make an appearance in the NCAA Championships.

Looks to me like they will need to win all three against HCU to avoid that play-in. That would put them past McNeese who holds a tie breaker edge with them. Then they need to hope New Orleans loses at least one or two without us finishing in a tie with AMCC. Our problem is that we lost all the conference series except New Orleans and Southeastern.
Also the tiebreaker rules reference eight teams so I don't know if that is from a prior year. I still assume that if two teams are tied it is head to head with the one taking 2 out of 3 being the higher seed. If three are tied the head to head could be even and then they go to best record against higher seed....yeah it gets complicated.
Win 1 and they are at least in the play-in and get swept and they are out of the tournament.

Baseball stadium was originally upgraded in 1983 (40 years) when Beaumont Golden Gators came to time.  Only a few minor improvements from time to time since then.
As for NCAA tournament even if SLC had a legitimate top 25 team that lost the conference tournament you would be biting your fingernails hoping you get a bid. The committee is biased to the larger richer conferences and just isn't going to give a bid to the lower conferences because of politics.
That is why I like to view the independent RPIs put out by different services in all the different sports. They give you a better idea where you stand. Actually, this year Southland keeps moving up on some of those to like 14. The cluster of power is in the mega conferences. 
All the teams in SLC are pretty much equals this year as even the conference standing indicate this. You could put all the schools in a hat and pull out a name to try to pick the tournament winner. If Lamar's bats woke up in the last week or two they could easily win the tournament but you have to get there to win.

A win tomorrow and Lamar finishes 4th in conference. A loss could set up an odd 3 way tie with all teams involved being 3 and 3 against each other. No idea how the tie breaker works in that situation. 

yes I checked some others. there are about 300 teams in Division I baseball. All of Southland other than A&M Corpus and Houston Christian ranks between 100 and 150. So Southland is in the middle of the pack in baseball. It hasn't sunk to the bottom like the other sports.

Nice win is correct. Bats need to come around in conference play.  
Conference ranks 17th out of 31 of utilizing Boyd'sworld Interactive  Strength  Rating. 

Struggled to close out the 9th. Headed in with a 9-4 lead and finished wining 9-7 stranding Nicholls' runners on 1st and 3rd.
Nice win after the tough loss last night.

9-4 winner. Banks, Bremudez, and Ramirez all with a multiple RBI day.

Well that will save a few degrees but not so warm in TN either...in fact pretty cool in Southeast Texas as well.

Women's basketball beats McNeese 80-75 in OT to move to semifinal game in Southland Tournament against A&M Corpus.
Lamar perfectly capable of beating any of the teams. Problem this year has been inconsistency not only from game to game but also within games.
Today had a 10 point lead in 4th quarter only to lose the lead and have to go to overtime to pull out the victory.

yeah better luck tomorrow. finally scored a few runs but the pitching and defense wasn't good enough.
