W-L OVERALL W-L Kansas           8-0   22-1 Kansas State   6-3   19-4 Texas A&M      6-3   17-6 Texas             5-3   19-4 Missouri          5-3   17-6 Baylor            4-4    17-5 Oklahoma        4-4   13-9 Oklahoma State 4-5  16-7 Texas Tech      3-5   15-7 Iowa State       2-6   13-10 Colorado          2-7   11-12 Nebraska         1-7   13-10 Aggies would love to have that overtime loss to tu back. Tough to lose to a team that never led in all of the regulation. Got to get payback in Reed Arena.
The way Texas has been playing, you probably will.
 2. Texas playing like crap. Throwing up 3s right and left when they should go inside. Pittman now on the bench in foul trouble.
 3. I heard Tiger didn't even attend the sex clinic. It was someone impersonating him, but that guy had to enroll there due to the huge number of women he had slept with who thought he was Tiger.  ;D
 4. Nederland splits with Ozen and Central and takes sole possession of second place. Way to go Bulldogs!!!
 5. I click on the link and get an error prompt.
 6.
yEP, but a Big East Conference school will tame the Horns when it matters during March Madness. ;D
Let me guess.....uh, Georgetown. Now how in the world did I know that?
 7. Now that's the way I like to see Texas play. First half was close, with Texas being down 11 but closing it to being down 4 at the break. Shutting down Anderson was huge, and then Hamilton took over. The only gripe I have is Pittman is missing shots close to the goal. If he gets on track, we have a great shot. This is for AAW.... Texas Wins!!!!!  ;D

You won't hear woulda, shoulda, coulda from me. Did UT miss any down the stretch too?
Nope.
Here's a little more than nope. Ags missed 10 FTs and Texas missed 12. Ags missed 1 FT in OT and Texas missed 3. I don't see where the misses puts you ahead.
 9. True or not? Unfortunately it's a game I missed. You won't hear woulda, shoulda, coulda from me. Did UT miss any down the stretch too?
 10.
Coulda, woulda, shoulda. ::) But I do agree with you short. Keeping with this coulda woulda theme, tu shouldn't have defeated A&M.
AAW, you never try and discuss ways in which your team could better themselves? If so, you have to review the plays that were missed opportunities in order to correct them. Woulda, coulda, shoulda is something that outsiders interject on a thread, not about their team, in order to suggest whining. What has been discussed here is how FTs win or lose games, and how Texas has missed theirs down the stretch. Correcting these misses could well afford a few more victories, don't you think?
 11. If overrated describes a team that has enough talent to win it all, but keeps playing under their potential and losing to teams they should beat, then I agree that it describes Texas as of late. Most basketball games are won down the stretch where FTs win or lose games. Texas didn't come through. I don't blame Brown for the loss, but you tend to count on 90% FT shooters when they get fouled late. These are the players you want the ball in their hands so that they are the ones to go to the line. It just didn't happen. Texas is too talented to have been in that situation anyway. Big tournament still ahead..... Hook 'Em
 12. We still correspond with a host family from Virginia. They were great. My son went there to play in the World Series, but we came up short. Now that was the Senior Babe Ruth team. Good luck to your son. There is nothing quite like being a ''ballpark junkie''.  ;D

There were some players from Lumberton too, but I can't recall their names. The Shumaker kid that I left off his first name is Jeremy...
Good to know...I wasn't around 10 yrs ago.  I have a 14 yr old that is trying out for the freshman high school team today.  I'm hoping his experience playing on the bigger Babe Ruth field will help him in playing high school ball this year.
Actually, it was closer to eight years ago. It's hard to remember all the kids, but some names just stick with you. Babe Ruth Baseball is something the kids will always remember...the parents too.

there have been kids from orange county playing at nbr for years.
Orange County kids have been playing Sr. Babe Ruth(16-18) for years.  "Little" Babe Ruth(13-15) was always limited to Jefferson County residents only.
That's just not so.... Shane Romero...Orangefield ...Shumaker....Orangefield Cameron Spencer.....LCM AJ Hecker....B.C. Brady Carney....Kountze ....these are but a few. Nederland welcomes all who wish to play.
spoonbill, I see no bullying in that post. He was just astonished that the NBR thread was a little hijacked for another league. Actually, in all your posts on this thread, I sense some anger and spite towards NBR. Do you have a problem with Nederland Babe Ruth? Really, this thread is all about kids who want to play some great baseball with kids from all over the area. What can anyone not like about that?
 17.
what is it you say, mike?  I guess it's time for me to start posting on here.
Dang, I can't even call them overrated!  ::)
 18. Nederland gets an A+. Who woulda thunk they would be tied for 1st place?
 19. Brilliant and Just response!   This policeman was being cross-examined by a defense attorney during a felony trial.  The lawyer was trying to undermine the police officer's credibility...  Q:  'Officer, did you see my client fleeing the scene?'  A:  'No sir.  But I subsequently observed a person matching the description of the offender, running several blocks away.' Q:  'Officer -- who provided this description?'  A:  'The officer who responded to the scene.'  Q:  'A fellow officer provided the description of this so-called offender.  Do you trust your fellow officers?'  A:  'Yes sir.  With my life.' Q:  'With your life?  Let me ask you this then, Officer.  Do you have a room where you change your clothes in preparation for your daily duties?' A:  'Yes sir, we do!' Q:  'And do you have a locker in the room?'  A:  'Yes sir, I do.' Q:  'And do you have a lock on your locker?' A:  'Yes sir.' Q:  'Now why is it, officer, if you trust your fellow officers with your life, you find it necessary to lock your locker in a room you share with these same officers?'  A:  'You see, sir -- we share the building with the court complex, and sometimes lawyers have been known to walk through that room.' The courtroom EXPLODED with laughter, and a prompt recess was called.  The officer on the stand has been nominated for this year's 'Best Comeback' line.

 21.
Good question Bobcat05. But, what Yates is doing is statewide news because of not how good this team is, but how important it is for them to show everyone, leaving out class and respect along the way.
How so?
 22. No way Texas is overrated. There's a big tournament to be played. That's when it counts to be highly ranked....like #1...when it's all over. People will always take their shots at Texas. Especially if their team can't even break the top 25.
 23. Isn't it weird how they always feel remorse for what they did when they find out how much trouble they are in? If only they had conscience BEFORE they do wrong.
 24.
Fisk has harsh words for Mac, Clemens ESPNBoston.com Hall of Fame catcher Carlton Fisk became the latest former player to level criticism at admitted steroids user Mark McGwire. And in the same interview with the Chicago Tribune, Fisk also had strong words for Roger Clemens. Fisk, who caught 2,226 games spanning 24 seasons for the Boston Red Sox and then the Chicago White Sox, said McGwire's insistence that steroids did not help him total 583 career home runs is "a crock.""[McGwire] says, 'Well, it doesn't help eye-and-hand coordination.' Well, of course it does," Fisk told the Tribune for Wednesday's editions. "It allows you more acuity physically and mentally and optically. You are going to be stronger and you are going to be better. "Some of these numbers that are out there are really warped. Should they be considered? You saw how McGwire was viewed in the Hall of Fame voting. If you take the length of time that [steroid users] use that stuff and subtract 15 or 20 home runs a year for those guys, where are their numbers then?" As part of his admission to using steroids throughout the 1990s, McGwire said last week he believes steroids did not inflate his home run totals and that he took them to heal faster from injuries, which allowed him to remain in the lineup. "That's a crock," Fisk told the Tribune. "There's a reason they call it performance-enhancing drugs. That's what it does -- performance enhancement. You can be good, but it's going to make you better. You can be average, but it is going to make you good. If you are below average, it is going to make you average. Some guys who went that route got their five-year, $35 million contracts and now are off into the sunset somewhere. Because once they can't use [steroids] anymore, they can't play anymore." "Try having your knees operated on and catching for 30 years," Fisk added. "Do you think you feel good when you go out there? [McGwire] had to stand around and play first base. So excuuuuuse me." Fisk's outrage wasn't aimed solely at McGwire. He also was critical of seven-time Cy Young winner Clemens, who has been accused of using PEDs. The former trainer of the 353-game winner has said he injected Clemens with steroids and HGH over a period of several years, a claim Clemens has vehemently denied. "The reason he got let go from the Red Sox [after the 1996 season] was because he was starting to break down," Fisk told the Tribune. "His last couple of years in Boston just weren't very productive, a la 'The Rocket.' Then all of a sudden he goes to Toronto and he wants to show somebody something. Then he gets two consecutive Cy Young Awards [in '97 and '98]. Come on, give me a bucket."It's obvious to players. You notice that stuff. You know how hard it is to play the game. You know how hard it is to be productive at any age, but especially at an older age. You see guys who are as productive later on as they were early [in their careers]. It offends guys that stayed clean."
Thanks GCM.
