AJ 25, I realize that Pence is not a 30 HR or 100 RBI man, but he is a solid player who gives his all on every play and at bat. On a routine ground out, he is running full speed to first base, forcing the infielder to scoop and throw. I wonder how many times Berkman could have been safe at first had he hustled down the line. If we trade Pence, why do we think we can get two players in return if Pence is not that good. Plus, a trade for prospects is always a crap shoot. Diamonds in the rough are too few and far between. The only way to bring in great players, if not up through the farm system, is to pay them dearly (the Yankees come to mind, and look what Clemens did for the Stros). Carlos Lee attracts the hispanic crowd, of which Houston has a sizeable one.

Looks like no trouble brewing in Austin.  ;) Hook 'Em!

Pence was rumored to be traded before and I e-mailed the Astros and threatened to never buy another ticket or watch them on tv ever again. The trade rumors stopped so I guess I need to contact them again.  ;D

Barmes is a good SS. Moving to his left and back-handing the ball to second for the force out ends the 8th inning for the Cubs.

Double play is an inning killer.

Went outside and enjoyed a margarita and missed what made it 8-6. Came back in and saw the error in left field making it 9-6. Go Stros!

Towles launches a solo HR making it 7-6 Stros!

Triple by Bourn, and back-to-back homers by Barmes and Pence ties it up 6-6 in the top of the 5th.

Thanks oldollie and Coog. It was not my intention to take anything away from the Ags, just trying to understand why winning all but one series all year long does not make a team the "champ". It does in high school and the pros. Like I said, gotta be some money involved.
