Three of the four are in the third round, including the DC.
It's not being mean to the BDawgs, I'm just honestly more impressed with Vidors wins over Crosby/Montgomery then yours over GCM/Stratford, and Ozen has beat 2 District champions already with Brenham/BH. Not saying Bulldogs aren't really really good, just more impressed with Ozen/Vidor.
I'm more impressed that you are sitting at home. Fighting all season to win district makes the matchups easier for the first couple rounds. Actually, all our wins this week were by one score. Ozen beating Brenham is the story of the week statewide, no doubt, but as long as we win, I really couldn't care less who it impresses. -
I generally holler "Go Dogs!" when they break huddle, then sit back and watch the play. If anything, I think Ned fans could be even louder on defense. I know I am. I can barely talk the next day.

Most everyone is talking about what Ned is "up against". I like to look at it like "Look what Pearland is up against. Just saying....

How bout some love for the Kelly Bulldogs?
baddog replied to jake94's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Its not intentional, just a fact of life. The private schools just don't receive the coverage. Go Bulldogs!......hey, that was easy. Anecdote: coming back from a trip to California, we were driving through Phoenix and saw an SUV with a Bulldog sticker in the window. The closer we got, we could see that it said Kelly Bulldogs. We passed them and they saw our Nederland Bulldog sticker and sped up beside us and we both waved and said our hellos like we knew each other. Kinda funny when you think about it. -
Yall know what I learned this weekend?

Ok, thanks WOSGrad and HubTx. -
What I think happens to teams like Brenham is that they are sold on winning state from the get go and dare anyone to knock them off. Then they meet a team like Ozen, who other teams that played Ozen have warned Brenham about, and Ozen has nothing to lose because they are already marked off the list. I said Ozen should throw the bomb on their first play to loosen things up a bit. Maybe it wasn't their first play, but it was what eventually beat Brenham.....Ozen's ability to hit the long bomb. BrenhamFan is a class act and backs his team 100%. He also knew Ozen would make the playoffs. Something a lot of us did not think would happen, and it took the last week of district play to decide.

I stopped the pick game because I don't know half the teams. I'll end with 75%. Thanks Ryker for your time and effort. -
Thanks. Can't give into the hype.

If you go into a game thinking you aren't supposed to be there, you have already lost. Other teams seeing Brenham lose today makes them rethink their own superiority.

Same respect should be shown for the Dogs. GCM did have lots of penalties. Most were the bonehead personal foul type. They got lots of yards between the 20s but Ned's defense held when they had to. GCM could not even kick a FG. Even missed an extra point (badly), which is why they ended up with 6. I look for a good game this week.
Not going to discuss the merit of scoring from inside the 20. We seemed to do ok. As far as the kicker, you're wide right on that one.
The lack of FG kicking ability forced GCM to go for it on 4th down and Ned was able to come up with some stops. Going 70-80 yards and coming up empty takes it out of a team. Unfortunately I'll have to miss the Stratford game due to work. Someone keep me posted. ;D

In 2006, we played PNG in Reliant with that LSU QB and beat them 33-9. In 2007, your team beat us playing a first-year starter at QB named Kyler Crenshaw who went to school on a baseball scholarship. The score was 29-28, that's all. 2007 was a rebuilding year....
How did Brenham finish up that year? Still a good win for Ned against a quality team.

Ozen has their work cut out for them.

Beginning game prayer - GREAT JOB VIDOR
baddog replied to CanineDog's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
In this country, we have freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. People praying at a high school football game does not infringe on your right not to pray. However, saying we can't pray because you don't want to hear it does infringe on our rights to express our constitutional right to worship whomever, wherever, whenever we please. Like someone mentioned, religion is a strong influence in all societies. It is probably the main and sole reason for most wars throughout history. THAT is forcing your will and religion upon someone, not praying over a loudspeaker. I'll say it again. This is NOT about prayer. It is simply another step in the attempt to further decay the moral fabric that binds this country. This great country cannot be defeated militarily, so the overtaking must come from within. At the risk of sounding paranoid, this is how the Communists feel. I believe 9/11 was a wake up call. We realized just how far away we had strayed from one another. Ok, I have gotten way off topic, but I said what I feel. GoDogs, I have no ill feelings towards you or anybody else who prefers not to believe. I will say that your moral outlook and caring was instilled by good parenting and the fact that they took you to church when you were young. -

I hate to be redundant but it seems I must. This is not about "prayer". It is about leverage/control. The End. -

Isn't it funny how no team is ever worse than their record? Gotta be true sometimes. ;D
Yeah Barbers Hill.. lol oops did i just say that? p.s. save it BH fans, I know, I know you beat us...
GoDogs, that would be hindsight. When people hype their team, they are always better than their record, unless they are undefeated.

Like I said, it is not about prayer. It is about a minute populace wanting to get their way. Using your mentality, it is alright to have gay thoughts in your head, but it sure is broadcast for everyone who does not think that way. I do have the choice to turn the channel or not reading the article, which is all anyone is asking of you.
