Very tragic. There was so much pressure put on the University at that time, it's no wonder they did what they did. They were squarely in the crosshairs. Maybe Duke could have reinstated him but the damage had already been done. The kids had already been tried and convicted on TV. Journalism never entered the equation. Let me expound on the trespassing angle. Whether you are black, white, green, purple, a Catholic, Jew, Muslim, man, woman, gay, or bird watcher(did I leave anyone out? I wouldn't want to OFFEND anyone)....if I don't want you on my property, I can call the police and have you removed. But if I own a business on the same property, I have to let you in? Seems we are concerned with everyone else's rights except the owner. What happened to his rights?

Maybe it helps their business, maybe it hurts. Still should be left up to them. They OWN the business. Kinda like trespassing. People have been legally killed for trespassing. I hate the way fouls are set up today. I'm old school and it used to be that you tried not to foul or you could foul out with 5. Now you have 6 before you foul out, is it 7 to be in the bonus?, different levels of fouling (flagrant and ejection, flagrant, and just a plain old foul). We have intentional fouling with fouls to give. The game has gotten away from its original design and caters to those who break the rules. Sometimes it's not even fun to watch. Maybe we should come up with tackle basketball in pads.

No. Unless you are a serial killer or mass murderer, most people kill for a specific reason....you pissed them off, you stole something, you took their girl....etc. These are the reasons, albeit some of them dumb reasons, that people have been killed. Anyone who would kill a cop will kill anyone for no reason at all. That is my take. This cop has been charged with murder and rightfully so. Should he get the death penalty? Only if it falls under the parameters of capital murder. He will probably spend the rest of his life in prison. If he is executed, I have no problem with that.
