Lamar does recruit Newton pretty hard, but i think they have given up on it since no one commits there. In the past four years, they have offer scholarships to Brent Spikes, Trevor Holmes, Romando Stewart, DJ Dean, Kevin Shorter, Calum Foster and Gabe Foster. The kids just choose other schools. I like seeing the kids at McNeese for some reason.
Yeah they offer them but they don't recruit them hard you can't just offer and kid and call them every once in a while that is not recruiting. When McNeese offers a Newton kid they come by and see them hit them up on social media they call them all that. That is how you recruit someone if you really want them.

Well Lamar needs to hit Newton like McNeese does then they are recruiting hard enough I presume

Yeah I remember that game the officials were terrible every time Diboll threw the ball there was a PI call on Newton multiple interceptions taken away from PI I forgot all about that until you brought it up. One of the worst officiated games I have ever seen.

Lol.. BS penalties...I like that. Sorry the refs rooked you like that. Fact is you won by 4tds. The other 3 might never have happened so don't even consider them. You wanna hear something pretty cool though? 4tds is way more than enough. The better team won. But we found some flaws and exposed them in the last 3qtrs. Our offense could never get going and yall's defense was a big part of why. You should really be thankful this game didn't happen till now. We play this game each of the last 2 yrs like everybody wanted and Newton would be 1-2 in that 3 yr series.
Yeah flaws ok right right. Go watch the film the sloppy field was the only flaw few slips that saved yall bad footing where there was holes for the backs to run through it was a total domination in all 3 phases of the game

We played a very sloppy game last night but still stiffened up for the better part of 3 qtrs and stood toe to toe with Newton despite giving up turnover after turnover after turnover. Newton had the better team overall but they made some mistakes too and if we had played a little less sloppy football, the door was opened for us. As far as Orangefield, they have played us very close each of the last 2 yrs and now look better than even then. Combine that with Kirbyville needing to work out some kinks and tbh, this could go either way if we don't do what I know we can do. I say Kirbyville by a TD, but we can't be caught sleeping.
Don't kid yourself that game was never in question last night it was physically dominated by Newton in all phases of the game. It was never in doubt who was going to win. Some BS penalties that brought 3 TDS back is the only reason we won by 4 tds and not 7.

I hope he is I don't want any excuses when they shut him down Friday. Don't wanna hear anything about some injury or something keeping him from being 100 percent. I'm fired up for the game better get there early so you get a seat. I have a feeling newton gonna put on a show.

Thanks, I was unable to make the scrimmage. Did y'all get a lot of rain? I think our defense is a tad better then last year. Our offense is still a work in progress I'm not a fan of the slot t for us. I think would do better in a different formation. How was Beaumont Legacy ?
Legacy was a no show heard they went somewhere else. Yeah we had alot of rain field got sloppy fast. LCM will be good in the slot T the defense was pretty good. Offense hit a few plays but with that offense it's a working progress it will come around. Good luck this year

Well LCM plays Jasper next week who looked better?
I'm saying yall can beat em the bears were more physical than jasper was
-
They did alot of situational stuff tonight newton defense in the red zone part of the scrimmage was outstanding bears couldn't gain a yard in 10 attempts.
-
Yeah they did kid got hit at the line and broke through and scored but Newton dominated this scrimmage LCM had same problem as jasper they could block the Newton defense and they were everywhere they forced alot of bear turnovers and I mean a bunch at least 10 turnovers
-
The plays were not the problem at all. The problem was they couldn't block newton at all. Newton was flying around on defense and swarming. They didn't tackle well on defense either a lot of arm tackling
-
Every year seems like he has some type of injury poor kid. Always getting banged up.
-
The Dennis kid seems injury prone every year he is gets hurt

Newton freshman vs jasper freshman 5:30
Newton JV vs Jasper JV 6:30

Why would newton folks light up this thread. We deserve to be in the top 10 of all 3A schools

how in the world do you have that type of participation ?????? my GOD no wonder they compete year in and year out
we can't get 102 kids to get off the xBOX and go outside. lol
the kids seem to enjoy the program and the coaches at newton are outstanding with the kiddos they make it fun plus it doesn't hurt to know you have a chance to win a title every year that could have something to do with it lol
