If you think Newton's pass defense is great you better go take a look at that Silsbee game film.
Go back and look at it, it wasn't as bad as you think. They caught the two balls in endzone but four of them they were caught for big plays were busted plays where the quarterback was running around and hit the TE who wasn't apart of the route combination and another one was a skip pass off the ground to the back they only hit them twice one was a jump ball in back of end zone and another deep ball. The secondary has played really well this season. The held Crockett to 147 yards last week. Silsbee only had 187 considering how many times both those teams threw the ball in that game

I agree with Newton not having a passing have but the secondary has been great the last few years . It has already produced 2 D1 corner backs . Roney Elam Texas A&M. Dj Dean Arkansas .
Not to mention the Foster brothers and Kevin Shorter all good members of the secondary in last 5 years

Crockett wins this one 36 to 16

...And that's the dangerous teams... You can't key in on one... And looks like the passing game is looking good too.
We have multiple backs who can run the ball and those 4 backs split all the carries and we have multiple receivers who can go out and make plays so we have a chance to be really good and make that run Soulja.

Yes alot better than in years past which is great for us it keeps them from putting 9 in the box now we can back them off and open up our running game. We have thrown the ball really well this year hope that keeps going all the way to Arlington..

It's been a balanced attack everyone has been doing their part getting it done. Everyone having a great season that is what is so great about this team no one person has to carry the team.

This is why I can't stand it when the refs make their presence known in a game. I was not at this game and I have no dog in this hunt, but I will say I have seen games like what crazeddeer saw...where it appears the refs were definitely playing favorites. Cut him some slack because with Crockett having twice as many penalties as Newton, he might have a point. I'm not saying Newton wasn't the better team, and I'm not even saying the calls (or lack of) were incorrect. But I mean come on...let the boys play the game. Many many things can and do interfere with a team's momentum that become game killers and refs are no exception. Doesn't mean somebody's whining. They're frustrated and a LOT of times...justifiably so. Twice as many flags? ....I'd say he's got a point.
Half of their penalties backer were for breaking huddle with 12 that's no playing favorites. Another penalty they had was on 4th and 2 and they jumped offsides on hard count. They got called for ineligible receiver down field once where they wanted a screen but newton read it and the QB scrambled around and finally through the ball but all the lineman were down field and ball was thrown pass line of scrooge another legit call. And they had a few false starts all legit penalties.

You can't tell me that fake first down, fake no pass interference, fake 3 calls in a row to stop momentum you want me to go on.
Ok so please don't tell me you are talking about the deep ball that was thrown 15 yards short that you wanted a PI called on an uncatchable ball I think not plus the receiver who threw it got it tipped as he was throwing it and got rocked they not gonna bail you out on that. The "fake first down" as you call it was a first the nose of ball was passed the sticks. Now what 3 penalties in a row are you talking about that stopped momentum? Plus how about newton 1st down at end of game where they moved the ball back after placing it past 1st then moving it back. What you should be mad about it how terrible yalls coaches acted all night sound like a bunch of winning babies in a nursery room. Grow up and take your lose we are better and it was proven tonight no 1 or 2 calls didn't decide the game. Newton out played crockett from the start.

If you wanta get right down to it newton doesnt need to be 3A d2 they need to be d1 or possibly 4A d2 same goes for crockett
Hmm why is that? Newton has under 300 kids. It's not our fault that we can get more kids to play sports and you guys can't.

How's Newton looking health wise? I know they had some injuries to key contributors earlier in the season
I think the eagles are fairly healthy this week

None of the teams on your schedule would stand a chance against Newton dude come on be realistic here. You are living in a fantasy land to think Coldsprings would even come close to playing with Newton

Lol! Y'all mut be playing Crockett California, or many moon's ago some would call "Crockettville"
Hey Bluedoggy you still haven't told me who Crockett has beat in the Pre district schedule that is better than anyone Newton has beat on their schedule. You talked about how Newton beat a bunch of not so good bigger schools and who have yall beat that is any better to make you think Newton is so overrated?

Now that I have thought about the situation. Even though EF beat Arp I still think Arp and my dogs will be top two items of region 3, after the beat down that is coming this Friday all you figgs will understand my thoughts. Now another factor threw in the mix is West Rusk, they to are lacking respectable actions as Newton, but do show some positives.
Who has crockett beat in predistrict that is better than anyone Newton beat?

my dog's at #3 in the 4a-3a poll nice!! they should take the #2 spot i a couple weeks.Newton has a chance but we are going to make it a very slim chance.
HA HA!!! Same ole Crockett think they are so good but don't play anyone worth a crap in pre season to get a real good gauge on how good the team really is. Your struggling to beat lesser teams, to me that is a sign of an average team
