If you were just watching the game and didn't know anything about the players I would have to say Blake Lynch was the best player on the field with Demarco Boyd being second. DT is more sought after than those guys because of how he projects at the next level. They want the long Dbs to cover the big receivers now days and if he can tighten up a couple things at 'Bama I think he'll be able to play on Sundays.

The best 4A player in the state this year was either Stidham at Stephenville or Mack at Gladewater but DT may have been the best overall athlete in 4A this year. I think at this point DT is more Dre Kirkpatrick than Eric Reid but only time will tell. Either way though, he got the shaft in the all-state team, but that's the AP for you.

We just died though. Y'all rolled over dead sometime in mid-November. Expect something similar to the margin of victory in Crosby a couple of years ago when Code Red shows up for the opener.

On topic: I expect PNG's record to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 9-2 or 8-3. PNG will win a lot of games next year because of their district but I think it'll hurt them come playoff time.

I think it's title or bust for Crosby. Bringing back about 5500 yards of offense, so hopefully the defense can play at or near the level it did this year. Crosby should be pre-season top 10 in every poll in the state and the favorite to win the region in D2 again. There's an embarrassment of riches in the Crosby ISD football program right now plus we return the co-Coach of the Year in the Houston area. If Crosby can get past a non-district test early in the season at home against Angleton and another on the road in Dayton, I see them going into the playoffs 10-0 and maybe the favorite to win it all.

North East Texas is considered 903 and 430 area codes. South East Texas is considered 936 and 409 area codes.Why has NE Texas won more championships in the last 20 than SE Texas? Better athletes,Better coaching, or better facilities. Maybe it is the communities as a whole that make a difference. What is the difference.

NE Texas has better everything than SE Texas. The list is so long it's hard to find a starting point. The gap between the two is getting wider too.

Football doesn't have the early signing period like basketball does. He can't sign a LOI until national signing day, the JUCO kids can't sign until December 17. He's not on Rice's commit list or offer sheet with Padgett so maybe it's some other type of agreement he signed, either way congratulations to him. Looking forward to seeing him out there when I go watch the Twins.

Dayton fans are going through what Crosby went through for years until the current staff got here. You don't replace Jerry Stewart with another Jerry Stewart. Dayton fans used to mock us when we said " the reason you're winning is because of Stewart". In some cases it was seen as being petty and not giving the rest of the program credit. Let's step back and look at the season though.

Dayton had the third best talent in the district and finished in third place. You currently have the 4th best coach in the most which probably led to your 4th place finish last year. Dayton has very good skill players but have been regularly beat up at the line of scrimmage the last couple of years, some of that has to be attributed to Dayton being the 2nd smallest school in a 9 team district theoretically limiting their choices in players. The days of being able to play a bunch of players both ways in 5A are dwindling.

With all that being said, Dayton was up 7 points in OT during the area round facing a team much bigger in size and enrollment-wise. Teams that throw the ball as much as Dayton usually become finesse at some point and I think that's hurt the Broncos, especially on defense. The teams and players in this district are too good to try to do it with smoke screens now.

I have a buddy from New Caney that told me when they play Crosby the game is usually lost before opening kickoff just because the kids get scared about the name in the front of the jersey instead of focusing on playing their game. Dayton needs to make people fear that horse shoe on side of the helmet again. If Dayton just lets their football program get back to being about football again, they'll be just fine.

Saw them on channel 13 when they just did the segment on Crosby. For some reason when they show Crosby highlights Dayton is always one of the teams they show us playing against. Hopefully next time they're doing a report its because we got out of school TWO consecutive weeks because we're going to Dallas.

I remember a couple of years ago when Ned played Sawson who was ranked #1 in the state. I personally thought, along with many other posters that Ned would get killed. The more evaluation I did, the more I realized Dawson actually played to Ned's strengths. I guess I feel a lot like Ned fans did at the time listening to the conversation surrounding their game prior to kickoff.

Other than the, "because they're a different level" reason, nobody still has answered my question. At 11-3, what are the doubters reasons Cedar Park will beat Crosby?

He always brought some reasons behind his opinion, why was he banned?

There was a moderator abusing his power and defacing people from Crosby's profile but they couldn't do the same to his. He pm' him to express his thoughts and was subsequently banned. This was only happening to Crosby people and it was for less than what other poster's actions covered. There's more credence given to the "we'll win because we have heart" theory, or the "this is what we do" approach instead of actually using some type of statistical analysis to form opinions which exactly why people outside of this region laugh at most of us. Some people from the SETX area are still living in the glory days.

Nobody said anything about overwhelming strength and talent. They've already played Aledo this year so that definitely wouldn't be the case. Pointing out losses or prior scores is just talk leading up to the game, which other way do you compare teams? I was pointing out the physicality the region 3 champ will play with vs what they see in region four, ask last year's semi-finalist Port Lavaca about that. Region 4 has only won the semi-final game like 2 times in the last decade in 4A/5A D2 but they did both win the title. He put up good numbers with a coach that was condusive to doing so just like his back that went to Baylor, the 1500 Walter put up as a sophomore, plus the dual 1000 yard rushers he had with Jakasay Evans and Dominic Merka who's at TCU. I believe Hervey put up the same type numbers last year but didn't have the extra playoff game to get to the same total before he left for Utah State. Temple is actually seen as the class of the central Texas area this year and Hutto only lost to them by 7. Crosby beat Hutto by 6 but was up by 3 tds in the 4th quarter before they went into "safe" mode. Hutto got an onside kick and score with a minute and change to get it looking closer.

CP been around since 2000,14 yrs(8 yrs no playoffs)=bi dist trophies in 2006 & 2013,rd#2 trophy in 2004-2010-2011 won state over GT 2012.Besides 1 state title,they can' t wear Brenham's jock :D

Thank you Tex, not to mention Brenham has played in the title game 3 times in the last 12 years. Cedar Park needed to win on the last day of the regular season to get into the playoffs. They lost 3 times already this year including being shut out by 3-7 Dripping Springs. Just like was the case in the WOS and Newton games, I don't think CP has seen the type physicality they're going to see from Crosby.

For the people saying that Crosby will lose, I'm just wondering what y'all think Cedar Park's plan is going to be to beat the Cougars? Brenham has an equal coach and better tradition that CP, and Hutto probably has better overall talent than CP.

Please tell me that the total yardage for cp is wrong, or they have a bad a** special teams.

Cedar Park has a little over 4000 rushing yards and about 1500 passing. Crosby has 2781 rushing and right at 2300 passing. The yardage was probably close to even going into the 4th where Crosby was up 19 points. Crosby backed off and Hutto picked up a bunch of yards in the 4th quarter just playing not to lose with the big lead.
