  1. Call me crazy, but I think this is the best matchup Crosby could've drawn this late in the playoffs. They run the ball about 90 percent of the time which i think is a good thing for Crosby. Crosby's defensive line is big and physical at the point of attack as some of you heard on Hutto's broadcast, and our defensive backs salivate on coming downhill to play the run. Hutto's qb gained a lot of rushing yards because they put so many people in the pattern you had to cover that it left open running lanes. I don't think that will be the case with Cedar Park, the more physical they try to make it the better it is for Crosby.
  2. Scoreboard* stats don't always win* Game Summary=Crosby 316 11 1st dwns 29/159 rush 9/16/0 157 pass 4 punts 0/0 fumbles
                                                     Hutto 509  26 1st dwns 35/272 rush  25/40/2 237 pass 2 punts 2/2 fumbles  {4 turnovers}nice=Defense ;)C Williams 6 rush=121 yds 2 tds

Also lost in that is Cotton is 20-30 for 260 yards and 4 tds with 0 ints the last couple of games. It's game on with Cedar Park.

I would say Crosby still played excellent defense in that game. Hutto moved it well between the 20's Crosby's defense just made play after play to get stops in the redzone. I'm not exaggerating when I say Hutto's offensive line looked like North Shore's, I'm talking tackle to tackle. It was a thing of beauty to watch the trench warfare going on, their o-line gave their qb time to do his thing and Crosby's o-line periodically blew holes open for our rushers to make crucial plays. That's one of the better teams I've ever seen Crosby line up with and Crosby basically controlled the whole game. This squad only lost to Temple by 7 points and Crosby was up 19 in the 4th quarter. This is the way Crosby has done it all year LilTex, you should know from that 4th down stop a half yard shy. . .
  4. Ok I doubted the Cougs and their ability to win deep in this thing, I even talked about their wagon hoping the wheel fall off. Well damn to hell I am running behind the wagon, I believe now. Congrats to y'all but i'm still very much jealous lol.

It's a jacked up 3/4 ton wagon, plus we're pulling a trailer. We're loaded down with 21-5A support but there's still a few seats for the Golden Triangle available. Y'all might have to fight LilTex for shotgun though.
  5. You crosby folks are begging for an upset of cedar park tonight....You Scared Say You Scared!!!

Why would Crosby be scared of Cedar Park. We already took out the team that beat them last year and we already knocked off the team that actually did make it to the title game. CP has a 23-0 loss to 3-7 Dripping Springs this year also. Maybe you PNG people really believes tradition wins games, you should know better by now.
  6. Good year for the district. 6 teams .500 or better and 6-3 in the playoffs so far. A regional title would really make the district look good. With GR losing the Marks boys and Ridge Point basically losing everybody I think 21-5A sweeps the regional next year. Hopefully there's a defending state champ in the district also.
  7. After seeing both of these teams play games against the Wildcats, I believe that the Cougars will lilkely run roughshod over the Hippos in this contest. The Crosby squad is big, fast and very talented this year. They thumped the Wildcats a LOT worse than the Hippos were able to.

I think if Crosby plays clean ball the game should go about like Brenham did where we were never really threatened. I honestly think Brenham is a better team and tougher matchup than Hutto because of Patterson. Hutto's qb has good numbers but they won't be able to slow down Crosby's pass rush due to the fact they have no real running game to keep the d-line honest. Your view also looks to be shared by some Cedar Park folks who are already calling Crosby out.
  8. How come when Cougar14 pulls out the stats though, y'all get on him something TURRIBLE(Barkley voice)

maybe cause a while back every post was about a stat, stats to justify a loss perhaps? I don't know, I may be wrong, then again I may be right. ;)

Cougar basically the reason they get on him is because he uses stats to base his argument and make his point and you can't base stuff simply off of stats. I use stats to back up a point I'm making. I don't base it solely on stats like he does.

They've been ranked #1 on more than one occasion the last 5 years, so yeah, I would say that's an average team for them. Remember, they didn't move up to #1, they were preseason #1 trying to go wire to wire. They had been to the semis 2 of the 3 years before that, those teams were actually better than the one Ned beat that was ranked #1. Like I said, it was an average team for them. Maybe even below average considering half their existence they've either played for or won the region.
If you want another example just watch George Ranch the next couple of years. This is going to be their third year of varsity and they've already played for the region plus they're probably the odds on favorite to win it again. Three years from now we'll probably be saying the GR team Brenham beat was average for them.

I kind of wish Cougar14 was here to give us some more his stats. Looks like he batted 1.000 on this thread.
  9. What about the the HC at nearby South Oak Cliff? He has turned that program around and is about ten minutes up the toad from Desoto.

SOC is in Dallas ISD so it's easier to get kids like Jordan Stevenson to transfer in. SOC doesn't even have 1300 kids but probably has 11 kids that will sign D1 this year alone, that's half of your starters which is crazy. It's very possible they have 20 kids who will play D1 football on their current roster also. Claude Mathis was a great coach and will probably be the best recruiter in that conference now. It would be a hard act to follow Mathis, who was on his way to legendary status in the metroplex, but it would definitely be a step up for him.
  10. HC Samples from Skyline comes to mind. Desoto has more feeder schools which gives Desoto an edge talent-wise. Desoto would be a step up for him with better facilities and talent.

Not sure how DeSoto has more feeder schools when Skyline has about 2000 more kids, but they definitely don't have better talent. Both are two of the top 5 talented teams most years though and the facilities would definitely be an upgrade. The money would most likely be better but I'm not sure if his title chances would improve.
