Man who have thought Lumberton boys basketball in regional quarterfinals, coach Mitchell has done a heck of a job!!
-
Fannett has everyone and I’m sure a few more move ins
-
I had Fannett maybe pulling the upset but Sigler had a great game plan, props to him and his team. This Silsbee group is going to be special

I'm a big supporter of all kids in setx. I've seen HF play 4 times this year.and I think the coach gets a little out of control sometimes.he has to remember there are kids watching what he does.tonite was no different.i was at the BC game.sometimes cooler heads prevail.
He prob should have gotten ejected tonight, can’t believe the refs didn’t toss him.

Fannett wasn’t disciplined one bit, Sigler outcoached the Fannett coach

-
Karma, maybe they will stop recruiting

Shepherd. They beat Shepherd. Lets keep this all in perspective now. They have had a GREAT season, and McClure CAN play, but lets not crown them regional champs just yet. Houston Yates will beat this team by 30. But hey, they made it to the 2nd round and won district for the first time ever, so there is a lot to be proud of.
I don’t see yates beating lumberton by 30

An people tryna convince me Lumberton will be good after he leaves he’s literally won this game by him self
Bush scored tons of points last year also and Silsbee was fine, Coach Mitchell will have a big physical group next year with 3 guards returning that will get better in the off-season. Don’t be surprise if they are in the playoff mix again.

Silsbee will give them easy looks

That new coach has done a great job

I think HF strength is the big kids that play down low. Their guard play IMO is their weakness.
This is the same Fannett group that beat Silsbee last year.

You are drinking the kool aid. Silsbee plays their game they win this one by 10
I think they match up well with Silsbee, length and guard play

Most 7th graders do continue to grow. I know of two who were always too short and told they couldn’t - Sahvir wheeler and Braelon Bush. Both were/are starters at D1 schools as freshmen, despite being undersized.
I’m not putting that kind of hype on this kid yet, but I CAN tell you he is an elite ball handler, passer and shooter right now. On an elite varsity skill level. In fact, he’s probably as good as they’ve got in that school district right now as a 7th grader. But I will agree if he gets taller, bigger, and stronger it will take him to another level.
bush has a 40 inch Vertical lol -
He better get bigger!! Size doesn’t look good for his future

We have done very good this year with this young team we have..! Corona cost us the District but we made that clear to the two teams we lost too the second go around.
Ahhh lumberton beat y’all at Silsbee they would have had to play in a play in game for the district ship

I wonder where #10 & #35 from last years WOS team are at now. They caught my eye alot last season, that team was ruined by Barstow’s bad coaching. Glad that Coach DJ Wilson is head of the reign now.
Barstow wasn’t a bad coach

The 2013-14 team was the gold standard. MaxPreps says they won 28 games, I knew it was close to 30. They went to regionals, losing to Navasota in Huntsville. I believe that was also Jason Wilkins last year to coach (I believe), who was as good as I’ve seen in WO during my time here.
Hancock had some good teams also
-
2 of those soph are guards and will get better, they have a freshamn guard who will help next year also.

24 and 4 combine for at least 50 points and 16 rebounds every game I can’t see Lumberton recovering that and everyone keeps saying Lumberton is young they aren’t young they just have a BIG TIME PLAYER IN 24 who is carrying those guys you remove him it will make it hard for them to score because he’s one of the most efficient shooters in the state
Lumberton has 3 descent sophs a freshman post back and the starting post back, when you have 6ft4, 6ft3, and 6ft3 in starting lineup you will give teams trouble.

@Benchwarmer9 don’t know ya’lls coach but I know ours and I know Wilson will have our boys ready. We also return a lot. Plus our JV last night beat ya’lls with mostly freshman on it. Your coach is going to have to have them ready or you guys will get blown out.
I know you won’t have #24 to lean on and that’s why I see you guys losing first round. Under Wilson these ain’t the same MustangsLumberton has 8 guys returning and 4 3 starters back, they lost 5 key guys last year and picked this year to not make the playoffs.

Figured this game would be a hot topic, I feel like it’s going to be a good one.
