Lumberton lived at the line all night. If my Mustangs breathed on the they went to the line. Good team but the refs had too much of an impact.
I don’t see Lumberton coming close to my Mustangs next year.
I promise lumberton coach will have Lumberton ready to go, he’s one one of the best coaches in the area.

Didn’t Wos almost beat Silsbee last week ?

Not to rain on their parade too much because this has been a great season for Ltown to this point but I'm assuming they go back to middle of the pack and fighting for a playoff spot next season. Losing that caliber of a player they'll just be the good old lovable, friendly Raiders again. Everything will return to normal and Silsbee will dominate the district for the next 4 years. Of course Lumberton wont have to worry about them anymore, with the L-Train going to 5a soon. It looked like they were going to be moved up this season but luckily they weren't and now you have a district title to claim as your own. I wonder how they would have done in 5a this year, shoot PA might not even make the playoffs. Soon we will see how good of a coach they really have there but hey enjoy it while you got it, he's a hell of a player and fun to watch. We've been going against Brock since he was a little boy, you could always tell there was something different about the tall lanky kid from Lumberton, even in 7th grade he could hit those long bomb 3 point shots with ease. Glad he made it to the next level and gets to play at a local D1 school we get to keep up with his progression. Congrats on the outright DC and best of luck in the playoffs friends, I know we will be there watching and pulling for the Raiders.
Lumberton returns 8 players, they will have 3 starters back, they will be fine, Coach Mitchell will find ways to make sure this group has a chance to get in next year, they will be big and physical.

I don’t think Lumberton has ever won district in basketball, but I know they won district in football in 2007 (same year they took down the defending state champs In the playoffs) and I believe the following year in 2008.
Lumberton has only made basketball playoffs 4 times

Orangefield had a d1 player a couple years ago? Who, the adopted kid from Uganda ? Catt ? Where does he play now?

Has anyone heard if any games will take place?

Agreed. Coach Mitchell deserves all of the credit in the world, but returning a D1 player of that size and skill will get you first or second in that district.
With what Lumberton lost losing the 4 guards they lost from last years team and only bringing back McClure and with BC, LCM, bringing back basically everyone and you have Silsbee who has tradition and athletes everywhere No nobody thought Lumberton who has made the playoffs 4 times in history would be district champs lol this is a ESPN come on man moment.

That means nothing. Go look at any boys basketball program in the last 50 years (as long as I have been around) in SouthEast Texas. If the team has a D1 basketball player returning, that team will finish 1st or 2nd in their district HANDS DOWN 10000000% of the time. There is not an argument that opposes this fact.
I totally do not agree with that lol, yeah maybe at Silsbee, Ozen, Nederland, programs like that because they still have other cats

So you did not know they had a d1 starter returning? (Lumberton)
You do know they lost 4 starters and only had 2 returning varsity players back from last years team right? They also lost another good senior who started some games.

BC is good, this group has been on varsity since soph years and have given teams fits the last 3 years.

Lumberton will go about 3 rounds deep.
Lumberton will have a tough out if they have to play a healthy Fannett team.

Proud of the team. Good senior group. Gonna be rough next year. McClure will get double teamed every game. He won't have much help
Comments from you last year 😂😂

Hattaway is good, but the other kid is able to take some pressure off of McClure offensively.
Hataway has been the 2nd best player overall, he is so physical in the games I’ve seen but those 3 sophs have helped a ton in the games I’ve seen.

The move-in kid for Lumberton has made the difference this year. He's 2nd best in team.
I would disagree!!! The big post player is the big difference maker

So let me get this straight..........and by no means am I trying to be the antagonist here but you are telling me that a SETX BASKETBALL TEAM (4a) WITH A D1 starter returning on the BASKETBALL team, was not picked to make the playoffs? Man, my mind is blown if thats true.
Yep, only thing I can think of is they lost 4 starters from last years team with only like 2 returning varsity players coming back so people felt like they would have a bad year.. I have no clue.
District 22
1. Silsbee
2. Little Cypress-Mauriceville
3. Bridge City
4. Orangefield
tabc district picks

So, let me get this right.... A team with a D1 player defeated a team without a D1 player?
That team lost 4 starters last year plus the 6th man, lumberton is pretty young also. Gotta give credit where credit is due Lumberton wasn’t picked to make the playoffs, Coach Mitchell has done a dang good job with group.

The Tigers have 4 seniors maybe a fifth if he is still with the team. 3 of which saw action last night.
Yeah Lumberton is young also, they lost a ton from last years team

No doubt, Fannett healthy is tough but Fannett and Lumberton better than Washington
