No I would imagine they wouldn't vote for a merger.  Especially when (I believe) a large portion of Sabine Pass students are actually PAISD transfers. I put my boat in at Sabine Pass from time to time and there is no way that there are enough homes in little community or on the way to the community to support an entire school with kids.  Those kids have be coming from Port Arthur.  So you're right...if up to them no they will definitely not merge.
That right there also supports my opinion tho.  Because not only is there not a single kid in Sabine Pass athletics that would participate in Port Arthur..most of them wouldn't make the team(s) at the school of their district competitors either. Now..they got really good PA transfers in the past..but then the academic standards were raised so high for transfer students they don't get the quality student/athlete they used to.  It's fantastic for the UIL and one act play programs...but embarrassing for the sports teams.  So you're gonna have 4 year varsity starters at Sabine Pass that probably will have never won a single football game.  Yep...never mind.

Isn't that about the norm though?  I'm no scholar in Hardin football history...but I think I read one time that the longest tenured Hardin AD/HC was 5 years...?  Sounds like the community doesn't give anyone very long.  Not sure why this would be any different.  Face it..if he doesn't win chances are he'll be gone too.

So HJ would've beaten Jasper...with this year's team...with Dubois at the helm?  Kelly I would agree with you.  coaching can overcome 1 point..even 1 possession.  But Jasper?  Wow.. some people just don't understand I guess.

I am a coach not in the SETX area I just keep up with it. We as coaches know when you win the players did great and when you lose coaches did a bad job...it is what it is.
I am going to defend the coach a little and say they prob had some scout info showing the ability to throw the ball in that situation, which you prob don't know about bc you did not put in 7 days working to beat that team. Also if Vidor is as run heavy as you say the play action pass and bootleg are designed for run heavy teams, it is not the coaches fault someone blew a blocking assignment. As hs coaches we make about $2 an hour and do what we do for the kids not for the glory. We love to win but never at the cost of our players.

Last I am going to leave you with this 1. Does a coach come to your place of work and bad mouth and yell at you. 2. Does a coach go on a public forum and bad mouth you. 3. We have families don't you think you are impacting them with this crap as well.
The next time you want to bad mouth a coach I want you to go get a degree and be a teacher and coach so we can yell at you.

First off...one play/possession is not the result of a win/loss of a game.  
2nd...If Vidor could've "walked the ball into the end zone" on whatever drive you guys are talking about...then why did they only have 7 points for the entire game?  What happened on every other offensive possession?
Maybe you guys should just let the coaches coach.

This is where my opinion takes criticism.  Don't get me wrong...great honor. And he definitely worked his way into a position to be a very successful coach.  With a resume that no doubt deserves a Hall of Fame induction.  And wins is what gets you there.
But keep this in mind.. Phil Jackson didn't win any championships without MJ or Kobe. None.
So you guys saying that he is the greatest Texas high school coach that's ever lived...I think that the greatest coaches alive today are probably people you've never heard of.  A good coach in my opinion is someone who has his/her team competing every single game especially with lesser talent.  Because the only thing that changes from year to year is the talent you have. Coaches become better coaches with more exposure to experience.  So if a coach wins a championship one year because he is a "better coach" then why doesn't that coach continue to win championships every year?  Because they have different players.
Anyways.. Congrats.  Truly a great honor.

I also heard they had speed...compared to HD. Which probably means they're pretty average.  Hardin wins this one by double digits.
