Arguably the best high school basketball coach in Texas history coached two pro's whom both are NBA champs...one of the wisest men I've ever met till this day congrats Coach Bou!

Good coach but Jackie Carr out of Houston one of the greatest.

Boutte is a legend no doubt but, if you want to check the greatest ever in the state then you have to look at Robert Hughes of Dunbar, Cotton Robinson of Buna, and likely none greater than Joe Lombard of Canyon girls.

i don't think there's anyone in the history of HS basketball in the country whose record can match Lombard's.   1100+ wins, over 90% winning percentage, and a state championship in almost half of his seasons?  Mind numbing...

Linda Andrews and Rhonda Farney along with Lombard make up the Big 3 for women's coaches. All three should be up there in the list of overall great coaches. 

Andrews winningest coach of all time but only 1 state title. Multiple appearances though. 

Farney over 1000 wins and still coaching Georgetown. 

Lombard also has coaches 7 or 8 cross country team state titles.

that at doesn't make him the better coach, that means he had better players. So that point is null and void

not sure on my end but let me ask you this OF: Does coaching 2 guys in HS who end up winning a NBA ring make the coach the best HS bball coach ever in the state?

That's the thing you guys are missing Bouttee molded those guys into the players they became, but here's my point. It has been only 5 players(I believe could be a few more) from Texas to go to the NBA out of high school Bouttee has coached two of them....enough said!

bravo to him doing that. Kudos…… now you gotta factor in what really matters: wins and titles and state tournament appearances.
