Going to be a good one. Sticking with the dogs. They were slow out of the gate last week. Can't afford to spot BU 14 points as they did WOS. Hope they get the rust out there heads. I think Monte will have them prepared.
Looking forward to see what those young RB's will do on turf. The "Butch" is always a good venue.
Being on a Thursday night, will be interesting to see what kind of crowd it will be. I think it will be good night for HS football.
Does anyone know if they're going to upgrade the lights? Seems a little dem compared to other stadiums. At track meets the runners disappear when they go around that back curve.
I think people will stand in line for a better, safer and more up to date NISD. I didn't ask anyone on there views. It was a mix crowd old and young. But that is good. We will get an answer Saturday night.
Yes, this is a massive bond. Yes our taxes will go up. But when I take a real good look at all the school buildings, parking lots, lighting, pickup spots, the stadium, it all needs upgrades. It could be 1972. Upgrades that should have been done a long time ago. But they weren't. I get a little envious when I visit other schools that have new upgrades. So go vote.
I happen to know a well respected retired teacher who is against it. I respect that even though I am for it. That's why we vote. Approved are not, Nederland will be OK. I think the school and city will be in a much better state if this bond passes. If they'll build it people will come.
The school and field improvements will have a permanent effect on the city. It will attract new families and businesses. The city might even improve the adjoining streets, sidewalks and lighting.
It takes a village to raise a child. This is a high price to pay, but I think it worth it. We must continue to upgrade the school facilities to keep up with an ever changing world. Like someone said earlier, it's not going to get any cheaper.
The football stadium upgrades will in time save money on upkeep. Bathrooms are a disgrace. Nederland is one of the last districts in 5A (that regularly go to the playoffs) that play on grass, mud etc.
Way to go Newton. You keep putting the Piney Woods on the map. God bless Coach Johnston. What an inspiration. Inspiration has an unusual history. Figuratively means the drawing of air into the lungs. I hope this win inspires Coach J.
