Probably not the time or place and taking nothing away from any of the kids who have competed like hell for this team but at some point we need to have a Jared Harris discussion of all time Tigers.   He is SO skilled would love to hear where folks think he ranks in Tiger history.

I can only speak from 83’ to present. Darrell McArthur is a good comparison. Before this year, I thought Jared was a notch below Boogaloo. However, as the year has progressed, I think Jared is a better all-around player and Darrell a better pure shooter. Just my opinion.

our starting linebacker played rb for the first time ever and hung 200+ yards on yall. yet for some reason yall thinking  that the "one dimensinal" team won't do well vs your defense. hell,, on the fly that night we were not one dimensional we were 1 playered.

No doubt Ty was very impressive. However, those 200 yards only equated to 13 points in the second half and OT.

    Good luck

Ditto!! I have been holding my tongue for a week. BBF061’s posts are always insightful and respectful. However, my boy 89Falcon seems to have much hate for Silsbee. Bandwagon fans are common, especially when the home team doesn’t give you much to cheer about. Bellville MAY (Falcon said WILL) beat Silsbee and Silsbee MAY beat Bellville. BUT…when the VOICES YOU ARE HEARING tell you that # 1 for Silsbee isn’t the best player on the field, sumpin is amiss. As a Silsbee fan, I have MUCH RESPECT for Bellville and what they have accomplished. I also have much respect for 99 and the bright future he has. With that being said, I would never STOOP as low as to make derogatory remarks towards another team or player. Hopefully both teams treat us to an injury free game for the ages. Good luck and safe travels to all. Happy Thanksgiving!

It's obvious with your last couple of posts that you are playing the "reverse psychology" gig here.

    It's not becoming of you.

But, if not and you really believe Gatesville will beat Silsbee, I'm willing to make a wager.

What is going on here lately with all these "sensationalized" posts?

Ditto, Mike. The only thing not mentioned was our ball boy out for 2 weeks with a dislocated nostril, assistant trainer on IR with IBS and equipment manager on the PUP list.

I’m not discounting them at all, but your 100 point stat can be discounted because of the district they’re in.  That’s the only point I was making.  Obviously they’re a good team.

I 100% agree. Bellville beat Royal 45-10. HF is up on Royal 42-7 at half. Silsbee beat HF 39-21. Assuming Bellville wins 60-0 tonight, they would have outscored Carthage by 128 to this point and given up 51 fewer. Does this mean Bellville can play with Carthage? Not likely. Does this mean Silsbee can play with Belleville or vice versa? Hell no. Throw all the numbers out the window. These are playoff games and there’s many other factors to consider.

Fort Hancock was the first team to win 4 straight state championships in Texas (1988-1991).

Fred Smith and Sealy knocked Hamshire-Fannett out of the playoffs in 1994. Eric Dickerson and Sealy also knocked HF out of the playoffs in 1978.

I stand corrected. I should have said 1st 11-man team to win 4 straight. Fort Hancock is 6 man. And Sealy did it before 3A was split into Divisions 1 and 2. Don’t get me wrong…Im a life-long Silsbee fan and will be pulling for them, as always.

Since moving up to 4A, how far has Sealy ever made it to the playoffs. They won 4 or 5 titles in the 90s I believe. Sealy was a force in 3A. Every year in state it seemed like it was Sealy and La Marque.

My nephew played for Sealy in the mid-90’s. They were the 1st in Tx to win 4 straight (94-97). Fred Smith (5’ 8” 170) broke Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record in 94’. They went 63-1 during that period and the only loss was in the 96 regular season to LaGrange, who was led by J. K. Dobbin’s dad, Lawrence. To say they were dominant during that time would be an understatement. Best high school football coaching staff I have ever seen. Head coach was the late T.J. Mills. God rest his soul!

Stood on the sidelines for this one. Silsbee is clearly the better team.

HF is coached up well but they just don't have enough dudes like Silsbee has and they certainly don't have THE DUDE in Dre'lon Miller.

I thought this was Silsbee QB Moshier's best game. He was really sharp tonight. Made some big boy throws that you don;t see too often in high school. I would say he was the MVP of the game.

Silsbee's defense did quite well tonight too. HF offense only scored 14 points after averaging over 43 per game coming in.

Note: Silsbee's sideline was full of scouts and media tonight.

Did their offense score once or twice? I thought there was a blocked FG for a TD and a kickoff return with about 2 minutes left

Gonna be hard. In my opinion the Qb this year is better then last years. That kid can sling the ball

Too early to tell, IMO. Mason wasn’t the most athletic and certainly not our best QB ever, but his poise was on another level. The last drive in regulation play against Cuero was a perfect example. If I remember correctly, he took us 70 yards in less than 2 minutes to set up a potential game-winning field goal. Never looked like his pulse got over 40. He always kept his eyes down field and made some great throws knowing he was going to get hit. He was extremely accurate with the long ball. He put enough air under it to allow the receivers time to run under it. I’m not saying Moshier isn’t capable, but he has big shoes to fill. Hopefully he can play a big part in getting us to the promise land. Time will tell.
